Head Coach
Schmidlin guided the womens team to its fifth-straight winning season (11-6-3). In 2013, Coach Schmidlin coached the first CMU men's soccer NAIA Player of the Week. Coach Schmidlin's record with the women's squad entering the 2016 season is 73-58-16. His record with the men's team was 50-51-7. In 2012 under Coach Schmidlins guidance, the womens soccer team posted a record of 11-7 and had four players named All-HAAC. The Eagles have accumulated a 45-20-10 record since 2011. In 2012, the mens soccer team recorded the best season in school history at 12-6-1. Throughout the year, they received votes for the NAIA Top 25 rankings for the first time in school history. They had three players named All-HAAC. The Eagles finished fifth in the conference, a program record. In 2011 under Coach Schmidlins guidance the womens soccer team shattered records. The womens soccer team recorded the best season in school history with a record of 14-3-2. This record led to a third place conference finish, also best in school history. During this 2011 season, CMU Womens soccer team received national votes for top 25 ranking for the first time in school history. Back in 2009, Coach Schmidlin's women posted at the time the best record in program history, finishing 10-7-1. In 2011 under Coach Schmidlins guidance the mens soccer team posted one of the best seasons in school history with a record of 9-8-0. The 2011 season was the first time in CMU soccer history that both men & women had a winning season in the same year. It was also the first time in CMU soccer history both teams made the post season HAAC conference tournament in the same season. During Coach Schmidlins career at CMU, he helped guide 30 players to receiving All-HAAC awards. He also coached the first CMU player to receive HAAC Offensive MVP honors in 2009. Coach Schmidlin is also the head coach of the '99 Missouri girls ODP team. He has been on the Missouri ODP staff for 9 years, and 3 years with Ohio South. He holds his NSCAA Advanced National coaching license and several other licenses. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Coach Schmidlin has accumulated over 17 years of coaching experience, and is on the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) coaching staff. Coach Schmidlin began his coaching career as the assistant coach at his alma mater, Springboro High School (Springboro, Ohio). Coach Schmidlin was also the head coach for several club teams in Dayton, Ohio, and Ohio South ODP. Through his club coaching, Coach Schmidlin helped develop two collegiate All-Americans and helped develop many players who continued their careers at NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA levels. As a player, Coach Schmidlin was a four-year letter winner as a defender and midfielder for Muskingum University (Ohio). Coach Schmidlin played two seasons for Dayton's amateur soccer team. Coach Schmidlin earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a minor in Business from Muskingum in 2004. He earned a Master's degree in Education from Central Methodist in 2010. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Coach Schmidlin attended Springboro High School. Dan resides with his wife, Jill Schmidlin, and their three kids, Aiden (12), Ellie (10), and Beckam (6 weeks). Stefanie Maurer enters her second season as a full-time assistant coach and third season as the goalkeepers coach with the Central Methodist women's soccer team in 2016. Coach Maurer coached girls club soccer for Sporting Columbia in Columbia, MO from 2011-2013. Coach Maurer served as a volunteer goalkeeper coach at the University of Missouri in 2003. She holds a USSF D coaching license. She is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). As a player, Coach Maurer was a goalkeeper at Northern Illinois (1995-99) and led the team to a Mid-American Conference Championship with a 17-7 record as a junior in 1998. She carded a 1.68 goals-against-average as a senior in 1999. She graduated with a 69-69 record in four years, owning a 2.12 GAA, 390 saves and five career shutouts. Coach Maurer owns NIU records with 138 saves during the 1995 season and recorded 390 career stops to rule the Huskies' charts. In addition, her efforts against Dayton and Wisconsin-Green Bay during the 1995 season are the third and fourth-highest single-match save totals, respectively, in school history. Coach Maurer was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year in 1995 and Player of the Year in 1999. She was also able to serve as a Northern Illinois soccer camp counselor during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. A native of Kirkwood, Mo., Coach Maurer attended Kirkwood High School. She earned first team All-Suburban Conference honors during four consecutive seasons. She was also a National Soccer Coaches Association Missouri all-state third team selection in both 1994 and 1995. She compiled 28 shutouts during her high school career, including nine as a senior while making 136 saves and owning a 1.00 GAA. Coach Maurer was a member of the Missouri Olympic Development Program team from 1988-95. She also played on the Region II ODP team from 1990-95 and was named as a NSCAA All-American in 1993. Coach Maurer earned her bachelor's degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois in 2000. Ricardo Webb enters his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the Central Methodist University women's soccer team in 2016. As a player, Coach Webb played at Portmore United FC in the Jamaican Premier League where he scored 47 goals in 54 games & posted 28 assists for PUFC. He also played at VSI Tampa Bay FC in the USA PDL where he scored 5 goals & posted 3 assists for the 2013 season. Coach Webb was team captain at the University of South Florida, where he was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll (Sept 23, 2013). He was selected to the South Carolina Gamecocks Classic All-Tournament Team & Tournament Defensive MVP. His team won the American Athletic Conference Championship in 2013; where he scored one goal and added three assists. Coach Webb earned two Bachelors degrees in Health Sciences and Public Health from the University of South Florida in 2013. He is pursuing his Masters degree in Education from Central Methodist University. Coach Webb worked as a registrar assistant with the USL Pro and PDL at United Soccer Leagues in 2014. He also was an operations coordinator with the Super-Y League. Coach Webb coached at the club level for boys from the ages of 12 and 13 at the West Florida Flames FC in 2014. He also coached at the junior college level at Lincoln College; where he was an Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach for the 2014-15 season. Coach Webb holds his USSF National F license. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). A native of Clarendon, Jamaica, Coach Webb attended the prestigious Glenmuir High School coached by Patrick Jackie Walters; where he was named to the All-Star schoolboy team. Greg Geiger enters his third season as a part-time assistant coach for the Central Methodist women's soccer team. Coach Geiger currently is the Executive Director of Missouri Thorns (an affiliate of the Portland Thorns who participate in the National Womens Soccer League) in Troy, Mo. He has over 10 years of club coaching experience. Coach Geiger holds a USSF National "C" License and is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Coach Geiger earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Missouri-Saint Louis in 1996. A native of Saint Louis, Coach Geiger attended Vianney High School. Tyler Watkins
Associate Head Coach
Tyler Watkins enters his third season as the head assistant coach with the womens soccer program in 2020. Last year, he helped the Eagles return to the NAIA Womens Soccer National Championship Opening Round for the third straight season while securing the first final site appearance in program history. Central Methodist set a new single-season wins record last year with a 22-0-1 finish and reached a program-high ranking of No. 5 in the national polls. In 2019, Central swept the conference titles after claiming just the second regular-season banner in the program history. The squad also secured the programs first-ever postseason trophy with a thrilling double-overtime victory over Benedictine in the Heart of America Womens Soccer Conference Tournament championship match. Watkins came to Central Methodist after a two-year stint at Kansas State University. He was in charge of coaching the goalkeepers, video analysis, and scouting. He also served as the Assistant Director of camps and clinics. During his time in Manhattan, KSU goalkeepers ranked in the top 50 nationally in multiple statistical categories. Watkins played a crucial role in setting the foundation for a new program competing in the Big 12 Conference. Prior to arriving at Kansas State, Watkins served as the head womens soccer coach at Clarke University (Iowa) from 2012-15. He coached 37 Academic All-Conference athletes and 12 MCC All-Conference players during his tenure. Before taking the reins of the womens program, Watkins pulled double-duty as an assistant coach for both the mens and womens soccer programs for two seasons. Watkins began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater, NCAA D-II Upper Iowa University, in 2008. Since then, he has accumulated over 10 years of coaching experience at the club, state ODP, and regional ODP levels throughout the Midwest. He has an NSCAA national diploma, an NSCAA advanced national goalkeeping diploma, and a USSF D License.
