Pat Reardon
Head Coach
Reardon was the President of the NFCA NAIA Coaches Association for 2013-14. He started as Secretary in 2010-11 before advancing to second Vice President in 2011-12 and Vice President in 2012-13. Reardon has posted nine-straight years of 30 or more victories. Reardon has guided Central Methodist to six-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference regular-season. Reardon was named the 2016 Heart of America Athletic Conference Softball Coach of the Year for the sixth-straight season and the seventh time in his career (1995, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). For their efforts, Reardon and has staff were named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NAIA Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year for a fifth-straight campaign and fifth time overall (2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). Reardon became the winningest coach in the Heart of America Athletic Conference history, after a game-one win over Evangel (Mo.) on April 4, 2015, as he surpassed the Crusaders' Jerry Breaux. He also moved into the Top 10 on the NAIA active coaches wins list. Reardon guided Central Methodist to its finest season in school history in 2014. The Eagles won a school-record 43 games and reached the championship game of the National Championship Opening Round Columbia Bracket. Reardon earned his 600th career win after the HAAC Championship Series title game against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), becoming the 12th active NAIA coach to reach the milestone. In addition to their successes on the field, Reardons teams have consistently posted some of the highest GPAs in the NAIA. The cumulative team GPA for the 2011 season was a 3.627, leading all teams on campus and in the NAIA, while ranking third among teams from all collegiate levels. It marked the fourth year in a row CMU has ranked in the top 10 in the NAIA for team GPA. Since 2006, the program has had 31 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and two Capital One Academic All-Americans. The 2010 CMU team was recognized as the team with the second-highest GPA in the NAIA by the NFCA and was sixth among all collegiate softball programs. From 1991-2003, Reardon was the head coach for the womens soccer team. He also coached the CMU mens and womens tennis teams in 1991-92 as well as the mens soccer team in 1992-93. In addition to his duties as a coach, Reardon teaches classes in CMUs sports management department. Reardon also was elected and serves as second vice president for the NAIA Softball Executive Committee. Reardon was a standout men's soccer and baseball player for Central Methodist from 1986-90. While in school, he was a four-year letter winner in soccer and three-year letter winner in baseball. He received All-Conference and All-District honors in soccer. He holds the school records for single-season scoring and career goals. Reardon completed his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Central Methodist in 1990. Reardon received his Master's degree in Sports Management from Missouri in 1993. He and his wife, Leslie, reside in Boonville with their two children, Addyson and Avery. Francis "Gene" Reardon enters his eleventh season as an assistant coach, hitting instructor and recruiting coordinator for the Central Methodist softball team in 2017. He is a retired senior executive of the Department of Defense (DOD), where, as the Auditor General of the Army, he led an organization of more than 800 auditors. He also served as the Acting Principal Deputy Inspector General for the DOD. Reardon graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., where he earned an accounting degree and lettered four years in baseball. His senior year, Reardon received All-American honors for baseball. He has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma, and is a licensed CPA in the state of Virginia. Reardon is head coach Patrick Reardons dad, and enjoys being able to spend time with his son on the softball field. Gene and his wife, Melody, reside in Billingsville, Mo. They have another son, Kyle, who lives in Anchorage, Alaska, with his wife Kristin and grandsons Luke and Owen. Ross Dowell enters his eighth year as infield coach for Central Methodist softball team in 2016. Neil Hansen enters his third year as an assistant with the Central Methodist softball team in 2016-17. Samantha "Sam" Kircher begins her second season with the Central Methodist University softball coaching staff in 2016-17, following a four year playing career at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. HIGH SCHOOL Set six career and seven single season school records at New Franklin High ... selected first team all-state in 2009 and 2010 and was named second team all-state in 2008 ... tabbed all-conference, all-district and all-region in 2008, 2009 and 2010 ... posted a .573 batting average, .920 slugging percentage and .619 on-base percentage as a senior ... finished with .454 career batting average, a .794 career slugging percentage and a .500 career on-base percentage. PERSONAL Born on September 4, 1992 ... daughter of Randy and Gayle Kircher ... has one sister, Theresa, and one brother, Danny ... was a track & field star in high school, owning New Franklin High records in the high jump and triple jump and finishing as the 2011 Class I State Champion in the triple jump ... also played basketball, earning all-conference honors in 2009 and 2010 ... member of the honor society. ©2016 Central Methodist University.
