Pelowski, who worked as a graduate assistant under Freese from 2006-08, became the fifth field hockey coach in CMU history when she was named to the post on Feb. 3, 2015. Prior to her return to Mount Pleasant, Pelowski served as an assistant at Michigan State a from 2008-14, including three seasons as the Spartans' top assistant. Working primarily with the goalkeepers, she guided two players to All-Big Ten and all-region honors. During Pelowski's time in East Lansing, the Spartans won 77 games and made three NCAA Tournament appearances. Before joining Freese's staff at CMU in 2006, Pelowski served as a graduate assistant at Kent State for one season. Pelowski was a standout player at Michigan, where, upon graduation, she owned a share of six career goalkeeping records, including most shutouts in a single season (9). Pelowski helped the Wolverines to four Big Ten Regular-Season Championships (2000, 2002-04) and a Big Ten Tournament title (2004). She was also a member of Michigan's 2001 NCAA Championship team. Pelowski graduated from Michigan in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and holds a Master of Arts in Physical Education (exercise science emphasis) from CMU. She earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Spring Arbor in 2013. Pelowski possesses a USA Field Hockey Level II coaching accreditation, which she obtained in 2011.
