Lisa Owens
Head Coach
Owens graduated from Berea College in 1996 where she earned a bachelors degree in Physical Education and a minor in Nutrition. She earned a masters degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 2000. While at Berea, Owens earned varsity letters in cross country, track, and tennis. The three-time high school state track champion also once held nine school records in track at Berea. In 1995, Owens was invited to compete on the NAIA International Track & Field team where she toured and competed in Europe. Following the 2008 Cross Country season Owens was named both the 2008 SCAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year. She has been named the South/Southeast Regional Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2008. Owens is also the Head men's and women's track coach. In 2011 Owens was named the KTCCCA College Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year after winning Centre's first conference championship since 1994 and guiding the Colonels to their first NCAA Championship appearance in program history. In 2014, Owens swept the Southern Athletic Association Cross Country Coach of the Year awards after guiding her men's and women's cross country teams to their respective third and fourth consecutive conference championships. Owens also was named the 2014 SAA Men's Track and Field Coach of the Year after winning the conference title. Coach Owens plans on continuing and improving upon the success of both cross country programs. "Our runners are very talented and dedicated to this sport that they love; they are also some of the top academic students in the nation, which makes for a great combination. I will work hard to continue to recruit the right student athletes that will meet our need both in the classroom and on the course." Coach Owens married her husband Scott in June of 1998. They have one daughter Meghan and one son Cameron.

Edwin Hagans
Assistant Coach
Hagans joined the Centre coaching staff in the fall of 2013 after serving as the head men's and women's track and field and cross country coach at Lindsey Wilson College from 2005-2013. While at Lindsey Wilson he accomplished the following: 25 men's track & field school records and 38 women's track & field school records were broken during Edwin's direction as head coach. He also coached 35 National qualifiers and 14 All-Americans and received eight coach of the year awards during his time at LWC. Prior to his time at Lindsey Wilson, Hagans was an assistant track and field coach at Berea College from 1995-2001. Hagans is a 1995 graduate of Berea College with a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a 2003 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Master of Science Degree in Physical Education and Sport Administration. Edwin has been an amazing athlete in his time as well: Edwin was a collegiate All-American at Berea College in the 400 meter hurdles in 1995. Edwin has also been a Track & Field Masters All-American in the 110 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, and the 60 meter hurdles. He currently holds the American Masters record in the shuttle hurdle relay and was the 400 meter hurdle Masters National Champion in 2012.
