Cram-Smith begins his fifth season as the head coach of the Charleston Southern womens golf team in 2016-17. CSU continues to improve and move toward a Big South Championship in each season under Cram-Smith. The Buccaneers finished a solid third at the 2016 Big South Championships to highlight the seaso. Sophomore Hayley McNeill had CSU's second individual title in as many seasons for the Bucs, captuing medalist honors at The Bison at Boulder Creek in Las Vegas last February. With one of the youngest teams in the country, CSU had its best finish under Cram-Smith at the 2015 Big South Championships. Freshman Hayley McNeill was fourth in the Big South with a 75.14 scoring average to earn All-Big South and All-Freshman Team honors. Sophomore Shelby Thompson was eighth in scoring average at 76.00 and won the Wendys Classic in October at Rivertowne Country Club. McNeill was named All-Big South and Big South Freshman of the Week five times during her first year at CSU. Teammate Milleina Ohara also earned Freshman of the Week honors as CSUs young squad put its potential on display. Cram-Smith has had a number of high points during his three seasons as the Bucs head coach. One of the highlights of the 2013-14 campaign for CSU was its third straight Oak Point Flight Championship in the Kiawah Intercollegiate. Playing in tough conditions in early March, CSU fired a final-round 305 as a team to run away with the flight title. In his first season as head coach in 2012-13, Cram-Smith guided CSU to a fifth place finish at the Big South Womens Championship. Casey MacNeil was named to the Big South All-Freshman team under his watch as the Buccaneers recorded three top-five team finishes for the year Cram-Smith took over the CSU women's program in the fall of 2012 after assisting both the men's and women's teams in 2011-12. He served as the lead assistant professional at the Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms, S.C. from 2008-2012. He won the Callaway Carolinas PGA Assistant Pro Championships in 2011, carding scores of 65-66 to finish with the win. Prior to the Wild Dunes, he was a member of the Tarheel Tour from 2005-2008, recording a top eight finish during his time on the tour. Before joining the tour, Cram-Smith served as the Assistant to the Director of Center for Global Education at Carson-Newman College from 2004-2005. During his time with the Eagles, Cram-Smith was a well-decorated member of the mens golf team, earning South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year honors in both 2003 and 2004. He also received the Hargis Award exemplifying sportsmanship and the spirit of the game in 2004, as voted on by the SAC coaches. He also received numerous accolades growing up in Perth, Australia, serving as captain of the Western Australia State Colts team in 1999 and was a member of the Western Australia State team in 1998, receiving runner-up honors at the Amateur Championship in 1998. Cram-Smith and his wife Susan live in Charleston, S.C. and are the proud parents of two daughters, Jocelyn (8) and Samantha (2).
