Morgan Comport

Head Coach

Morgan Comport enters her fourth season as Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach in the 2025-26 academic year, coming off a 2025 season in which she was selected as the PAC Coach of the Year after leading the Cougars to the PAC title game for the first time in school history. In three seasons under Comport, the Cougars have reached new heights and broken numerous team records. In all three seasons, the Cougars played host in the PAC Quarterfinals and have reached the PAC semifinals in the past two seasons. Chatham set new team single-season records in both 2023 and 2024 for goals, assists, points, draw controls, caused turnovers and wins. Additionally, the Cougars secured the first shutout in Comport’s tenure as head coach in 2024. The Cougars received five All-PAC selections (3 first team, 1 second team, 1 honorable mention) in 2023 and four All-PAC selections (1 first team, 2 second team, 1 honorable mention) in 2024. In 2025, Chatham once again had five players receive All-PAC selections (1 first team, 4 second team), including the PAC Newcomer of the Year in Tessa Hueber. Under Comport, midfielder Sam Beall-Dennell became the Cougars' career leader in goals, points, ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers. Beall-Dennell was a recipient of the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship in 2024, and was named PAC Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2025. 5 Cougars were Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll members in the Spring of 2025, while 14 players were named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll and the team accumulated a a 3.5 GPA collectively. Comport joined Chatham after a three-year Assistant Coaching position at Division II Seton Hill University, where she split her time with both the Women’s Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams. In this role, she was responsible for developing practice plans and game strategies, film and statistical analytics, monitoring player academics, and all aspects of recruiting.   Under Comport’s guidance, she helped the Griffins to two straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West championship titles (2021, 2022), leading to two NCAA tournament berths following a run in 2019. These performances led nearly twenty All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference selections for her players. Academically, several student-athletes earned All-Academic Team designations thanks to her mentorship.   Comport’s coaching experience spans beyond Seton Hill. Beginning in 2020, she was named Head Coach of the Mountain State Lacrosse Team out of West Virginia. While recruiting and preparing her players for competition in premier tournaments, Comport saw to their athletic development both individually and as a team. On top of success on the field, she helped prepare her players for the recruiting process as they began their college search process as prospective student-athletes.   In her own career at Seton Hill, Comport was an all-around standout. As a three-year team captain, Comport compiled 243 career points on attack, earning herself East Coast Conference Attacker from 2010 to 2012. Her performance caught the attention of the All-American Lax Magazine, which landed her on their Second Team in 2012. In her senior season, Comport was named a North-South All-Star, capping off a successful athletic career.   Comport graduated from Seton Hill in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minors in Sociology and Biology, having earned All-Academic Team status. Just three years later, she would graduate from Seton Hill yet again, this time with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Comport currently resides with her husband, Brad, daughter Emerson and son Luke.
