David Fulcher

Head Coach

Fulcher began his career as a wide receiver at Arizona State, then later transitioned to the defensive back position where he would later earn the coveted award of Standout Player at that position.    Fulchers nickname, Fo-Rock was placed on him by his teammates during a game against Colorado State, where a player said he hit one player, like a rock! The nickname proceeded him and stayed remains to this day. While at ASU, Fulcher won All American honors three consecutive years. In November of 1996, he received the honor of being inducted into the Arizona State University Hall of Fame for his outstanding college career.   In 1986, Fulcher was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round, and went on to be known as one of the NFLs largest, fastest, hardest-hitting, and best strong safeties during his  career. Fulcher was named to three-straight Pro Bowl Games (89, 90, and 91) and made All--Pro  teams 1988-1990. During the Bengals Super Bowl run in the 1989 season, he was named Defensive Back of the Year for- an outstanding effort thoughout Cincinnatis historical season.   Fulcher led the Cincinnati Bengals in tackles (95) during the 1991 campaign, including 68 solo tackles. Fulcher also led his team with four pass interceptions and four fumble recoveries. In Fulchers six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, he accounted for 561 tackles (388 solo tackles, 173 assists), 27 pass interceptions (two of which were returned for touchdowns), and 10 fumble recoveries.         During Fulchers career, he has devoted many hours to charitable events/appearances. Fulcher remains active in charitable activities and is a strong advocate for the education and guidance of todays youth. Fulcher also started the first All Pro Football  Camp in the year 2000 to hit Cincinnati and continues inues to raise money to help those affected by  multiple sclerosis.       Throughout the NFL season, David remains active in football working for the NFL  in close relationship to the Cincinnati Bengals an NFL Heads Up Ambassador. In  June, 2010, Fulcher formed at non-profit corporation called MANA-Now, Inc. which stands for  Mentoring Against Negative Actions (MANA-NOW.COM). Fulcher works with incarcerated males at  the Hamilton County Justice Center to teach them life skills so they are equipt to live productive lives in their communities as well as with their families upon being released.    Fulcher is  now retired from the NFL and lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife Judy, their  daughter  Kayla  and  son David,  who are both talented athletes. Johnson is in his first season as the Eagles offensive coordinator after spending four seasons at Cincinnati Shroder Paideia Academy High School as the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator. While at SPAHS, Johnson coached the Jaguars to their first ever playoff appearance and a conference championship in 2014. Shroders record breaking offense totaled 6,777 yards his last two seasons combined. Prior to Shroder, Johnson spent eight seasons with Cincinnati Christian Schools. From 2007-2010 coach Johnson served as the head varsity football coach at Cincinnati Christian High School, where he set several offensive records that still stand today. Coach Johnson was a four-year varsity starter at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind. holding a captain position as a senior; he graduated with a B.A. in History in 2001. In 2014, Johnson eaned his Master's Certificiate from Walden University in Educational Leadership. "It has been my dream and desire to coach college football at a Christian institution of higher learning," Johnson said. "Cincinnati Christian University is a dream come true. It is my belief that I was brought to C.C.U. by divine providence and an answer to prayer. I have a passion for impacting the lives of young people and football is a vehicle for that passion." Johnson is a native of Fort Wayne, Ind. and resides in Colerain Township, OH with his wife Melanie, and their sons Nathanial and newborn Anthony.  Coach Spohn is entering his first year at CCU as the offensive line coach after assisting in recruiting the football team during the 2015 school year. Before coming to CCU, Spohn spent 2 years at Cincinnati Christian High School coaching the varsity offensive line with Head Coach David Fulcher. During that time, the Cougars experienced their first winning season.   Previous to coaching, Spohn played offensive line and was a long snapper at Olivet Nazarene University under Coach Dennis Roland. While playing at Olivet Nazarene University, the university played its first post season bowl game (1989). Coaching and mentoring student-athletes has been a calling I have been perusing for 10 years in the classroom and on the field.  Helping these young adults increase their athletic potential needs to go hand-in-hand with them learning how they will positively impact their own communities in the future, Spohn said. Spohn has earned a Masters in Diplomacy (2007), and Doctorate in Education (2016). Spohn resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife Hope and daughter Mia Coach Trevor Zeiders comes to Cincinnati Christian with 15 years of intercollegiate athletic coaching experience after previous stops at Urbana University, University of Dayton, Carson-Newman College, Frostburg State and Gettysburg College. During his campaign at Urbana, coach Zeiders was the associate head coach of football operations and special teams coordinator. Urbana picked up a school record for most wins in a season (8) and were conference champions in 2011. Prior to that, Zeiders was the defensive ends coach and recruiting coordinator at Dayton where the Flyers posted a 19-3 record over his two seasons with the university.  While at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, Zeiders earned his Master's degree in Education while being named the assistant linebacker coach and video coordinator. He also served as the defensive line coach at Frostburg (2004-05) and Gettysburg (2001-2003).  A 2001 graduate of West Virginia University, Zeiders was an inside linebacker and long snapper before becoming a student assistant coach for the 1999 and 2000 seasons. He worked with the inside linebackers, long snappers and punters & kickers. Zeiders was on staff for WVU's 49-38 win over Mississippi State in the 2000 Music City Bowl. As a student, Zeiders was a dual-major in Sports Management and athleic coaching education. Zeiders resides in West Carrolton, Ohio with his wife Nicole their sons Elijah and Ezekiel.        Coach Stier is a graduate of Wheaton College where he earned a B.S. in Biology. He was a two-time All-American and three-time First Team All-Conference linebacker for the Wheaton football team. As a senior, he was a team captain and earned the team awards Most Valuable Player and Most Respected Player. Stier began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Wheaton where the team went undefeated and appeared in the schools first ever NCAA football playoff. He is a U.S. Army veteran where he served four years active duty as a commissioned officer.  Coach Stier is currently employed by McD Concrete Enterprises, LLC in Erlanger, Ky. as Director of Operations. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University. Stier resides in Cincinnati, OH with his wife Melissa and their two sons. Coach Brian Westbrook comes to CCU as a wide receiver and tight end coach after spending the 2014-15 season as a Recruiting Intern at Mount Saint Josephs and an assistant football coach at Hughes STEM High School. Prior to that, Westbrook coached eight seasons with the West End Wildcats youth football team. Westbrook earned his Associates in Applied Business and Commercial Art from Antonelli College in 2003 and then receivied his certification from the Ohio Center for Broadcasting in Radio and Television Broadcasting in 2010. Westbrook is working on his Bachelors in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy and currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife Jasmine and their children Alexis, Namir, Elias and Brian, Jr. Coach Jackie Cooper comes to Cincinnati Christian after spending two years as a defensive graduate assistant for the University of Cincinnati in the early 2000's. Cooper was a two-year starter for the Bearcats, receiving the Brig Owens Award in 1989 as the team's most outstanding back.  Cooper played professional football briefly after leaving UC, being drafted  in the third round by San Antonio of the World Football League in 1991. He played for both New Orleans and Cincinnati of the Arena Football League. Cooper began coaching at Summit Country Day High School for one season (1993) and for four years at Withrow High (1994-97). He left Withrow in 1998 to become receivers coach at the College of Mount St. Joseph, a position he held for two years. He received his degree in business from Xavier in 1999. Cooper and his wife, Tracey, reside in Cincinnati and have two sons, Deon and Jeremy and one daughter Chelsie.

Stier began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Wheaton where the team went undefeated and appeared in the schools first ever NCAA football playoff. He is a U.S. Army veteran where he served four years active duty as a commissioned officer.  Coach Stier is currently employed by McD Concrete Enterprises, LLC in Erlanger, Ky. as Director of Operations. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University. Stier resides in Cincinnati, OH with his wife Melissa and their two sons.
