Alicia Longyear

Assistant Coach

Longyears fourth at the helm of the Citrus College Cross Country program. Since taking over the program, Longyear has turned the Owls into a consistently competitive squad that has placed individuals in the CCCAA State Championships each and every year. During the 2015 season, Longyear led the women's squad to an 11th place team finish at the 2015 CCCAA State Championships, the highest finish ever by a Citrus women's cross country team in the modern era. That followed a third place finish by the Owls at the 2015 Western State Conference Championships, also a program best.  Prior to taking over the program, Longyear served as the distance coach on the Citrus College Track and Field team between the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Longyear also served as an assistant track and field and cross country coach at Claremont High School from 2003-2007. In 2004, Longyear helped helm the Pomona Pitzer College Track and Field team while the head coach was on sabbatical. Longyears coaching career began at the University of La Verne where she was a graduate assistant to the Leopard cross country and track and field teams while she earned her Masters Degree. Longyear was an accomplished runner herself. Her running career began as a junior at Claremont High School, where she picked up the sport and never looked back. Longyear continued to run collegiately, earning varsity letters in both cross country and track and field all four years at the University of Redlands where she completed her undergraduate education. Along with her coaching duties, Longyear as serves as the Citrus College Athletic Counselor, a position she has held for the past twelve years. Longyear holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Redlands, and a Masters Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Athletic Counseling from La Verne. Longyear has two children, Cooper and Tatum, and resides in Rancho Cucamonga with her husband Dave.
