Clark University Men's Tennis

Nathan Lookwhy was named head men's and women's tennis coach on December 12, 2022 and is currently in his third season leading the scarlet and white. In the 2023-24 season, Lookwhy guided the men's tennis program to their fifth straight NEWMAC Tournament appearance and the four NEWMAC regular season victories were the most in program history. The Cougars also earned their first NEWMAC Tournament since 2015 with a 5-1 win over Springfield. Edward Shepherd-Johnson and Aris Kirkorian both earned All-NEWMAC honors. On the women's side, Clark won three contests and saw the doubles tandem of Winifred Gakidis and Merielle Kane earn NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week. In Lookwhy's first season at the helm, he helped guide the men's program to the NEWMAC Tournament and victories over Gordon, Wheaton, and Emerson. Dariy Vykhodtsev and Graham Russo were named to the All-NEWMAC Second Team as a doubles tandem. On the women's side, five were named to the All-NEWMAC Academic Team.  Lookwhy came to Clark after spending the 2022 Fall season as an Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at Assumption University. At Assumption, Lookwhy helped develop practice plans, run practices, conduct player academic check-ins, and helped provide in-game strategy during matches. He also helped create a welcoming and fostering environment for all Assumption players on and off the court. Lookwhy has also served as Tennis Director at the Shrewsbury Club since 2020. In his role at the Shrewsbury Club, he oversees the tennis department budget and monthly goals, manage staff payroll and schedules, hire and supervise assistant pros who align with the programs to ensure quality customer experience, and get to know what motivates each player. For two years, Lookwhy was also the Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Tennis teams at Whitinsville Christian School. Lookwhy also coached at Gordon College for a year during the 2019-20 season after playing at Gordon from 2016-2019. Lookwhy graduated from Gordon in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Sport, and Wellness, with a concentration in Sports Studies.
