Perry received his bachelor's degree in 2006 from Oklahoma State University. He is also a CCC alum and competed in cross country and track and field as a 5,000 meter runner. He was also part of the national qualifying 4x800 meter relay team his sophomore year. Perry was an Academic All-American at CCC in 2003 and 2004 and was a member of the 2003 NJCAA Academic Team of the Year in cross country. In 2015, Perry led the Raven women to a fourth place finish at the NJCAA national outdoor meet while the men placed fifth in the nation. Both teams won their respective region outdoor titles in 2015. During the indoor season, the Raven men placed third at the indoor national meet while the women finished sixth. The Raven women won the region and conference indoor titles and the Raven men were second in the region and first in the Jayhawk East indoor standings. The Ravens had sixth national champions during the indoor and outdoor season in 2015. In 2014, Perry helped guide the Raven men to a fifth place finish at the NJCAA national outdoor meet while the women placed seventh. The Ravens had two national champions in the outdoor meet: Andre De Grasse in the 100 meters and Tayla Greene in the women's discus. The indoor national meet saw the Ravens place second on the men's side and the women ninth. The Ravens had five indoor national titles won by four different athletes in 2014. De Grasse won national indoor titles in the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. Tristan Whitehall won the national indoor title in the shot put while Johnnie Jackson won the weight throw. On the women's side, Racquel Williams won her second consecutive national title in the indoor women's shot put. Perry was named the 2013 Region VI Indoor Women's Coach of the Year and was also named the 2013 Men's Coach of the Indoor Region VI Championship Meet. Last season, Perry led the men's team to a fifth place finish and the women to a 14th place finish at the NJCAA National Outdoor Meet. Perry also coached a national champion, Andre De Grasse in the outdoor 100 meters. During the indoor season, the Raven men placed third nationally while the women finished fourth at the indoor national meet. In 2010-2011, Perry had two athletes claimed national championships at the outdoor meet. A total of nine athletes claimed All-American status during the national outdoor meet and the men finished tied for fifth place and the women finished 17th nationally. During the indoor season, eight athletes made All-American. At the national meet, the men placed eighth and the women 19th. During the cross country season, ten men and women athletes wound up on the school's all-time Top 25 finishes list. In 2009-2010, the Raven men placed seventh at the national meet in 2010 while the women placed ninth. Paris Daniels claimed the national title in the womens 400m and three other athletes placed as national runner-ups. At the national indoor meet, the Raven men tied for sixth and the womens team came in ninth. Perry is married to Michelle Woolsey, a former distance runner who graduated from CCC in 2005. The couple have two daughters, Kindle Jo, born in June 2012, and Pacey Ann, born in October 2015. Robert Wood
Head Coach
Wood is a native of Blackwell, Oklahoma. In the eight years since coming to Coffeyville, Coach Wood has built the Red Ravens into one of the most recognized and respected Junior College throwing programs in the country. In 2012 Wood was named NJCAA Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year and NJCAA Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year. 2014-2015 he coached former Red Raven Tristan Whitehall to five Barbados National Senior Records. Wood also coached former Red Raven Johnnie Jackson to the NJCAA National Record in the Weight Throw; Jackson became the first Junior College male thrower to break the 20m barrier in the Weight. Wood will serve as throwing coach, recruiting coordinator and will also run the Red Raven strength program. In 14 years of coaching, Coach Woods athletes have produced: 47 NJCAA All-Americans 149 NJCAA Coaches Association All-Americans 19 National Champions 15 National Runners-Up 16 Third Place Finishers 40 Region VI Champions 79 Conference Champions 140 All Conference Selections 2 USATF Junior National Qualifiers 1 NJCAA Field Athlete of the Meet 1 USTFCCCA/NJCAA Field Athlete of the year 3 USTFCCCA Central Region Athletes of the Year 2 NJCAA National Meet Record Holders 1 NJCAA National Record Holder 52 of his former athletes have signed Division I or II Scholarships. Coach Wood holds Level I Coaching Certification (general) as well as Level II Coaching Certifications in both throws and jumps through the United States Track and Field Association and is a member of the National Throws Coaches Association.
