Coker University Women's Volleyball

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Stephanie Dragan has been named Coker Universitys head womens volleyball coach, announced on February 13, 2023 by Vice President of Athletics and Athletic Facilities, Dr. Lynn Griffin. We are excited to welcome Coach Dragan to Coker and to the Hartsville community, said Griffin. Coach Dragan had a record of success at Division II Franklin Pierce and we knew she was the right person to lead Coker.  I look forward to watching her bring the same level of excellence to Coker.   Dragan comes to Coker from NCAA DII member Franklin Pierce.  Dragan led Franklin Pierce for 14 seasons and is the Franklin Pierce all-time career wins leader.  Dragan is no stranger to success. She recorded a .448-win percentage throughout her time at the University.  At Franklin Pierce, Dragan was named the 2012 Northeast-10 coach of the year.  Dragan has led the Ravens to four NCAA Division II East Region quarterfinals. The coach has also produced numerous athletes who went on to win prestigious awards such as Daktronics All-East Region First Team, All-Northeast-10, and All-Rookie Team. Coach Dragon had this to say I am extremely excited to be the next volleyball coach at Coker. When I came for my interview I saw what a great opportunity Coker would be for me. I can't wait to work with the incredible student-athletes and lead the program to new heights. Thank you Dr. Griffin for this chance. I'm proud to call Hartsville my new home.  Dragan is a graduate of Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in social science and was a standout setter on the Bears volleyball team.  In 2008, Dragan earned her Masters of Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy.  She is active within the volleyball community having served on the NCAA Division II National Womens Volleyball Committee serving as chair of the east region. 

Sam Summers is a dedicated and driven individual currently pursuing a Master's in Management and Leadership at Coker University, with a background in Marketing and Strategic Communications from Butler University. As a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Coach for the volleyball team, Sam assists in practice planning, game day preparation, player feedback, recruiting efforts, travel coordination, and event organization.
