Assistant Coach

Russell begins her first season as an assistant coach with the field hockey program at Notre Dame of Maryland University.  A 2014 graduate of Stevenson University, Russell was a four year member of the field hockey team and served as captain her final two years with the team.  After her junior season, she was invited to play internationally and helped lead a clinic to teach field hockey to the children on the island of Barbados.   Her senior season culminated with her being named the Mustangs' team MVP. During her tenure with the team, she also earned SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad honors three times and was named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll after her senior year.  Her academics also placed her on the Dean's List in the 2013 spring semester.   Russell has also spent one year working with H2O Club Field Hockey with the U19 team as a development coach where she led practices and taught plays based on the H2O curriculum and coached the team at various tournaments.   Since graduation she has been employed as a Graphic Designer, where she was named the Rookie Sales Person of the Year this past January for selling the most artwork during the previous year.
