David Berard
Head Coach
Berard is currently in his third season at Holy Cross as the head coach of the mens ice hockey program in 2016-2017. Berard has over 20 years of collegiate hockey experience, including 16 seasons at his alma mater, Providence College. He also served as the interim head coach at the University of Connecticut for the majority of the 2012-2013 season. In his two seasons at Holy Cross, the Crusaders are 32-31-10 overall and have posted a 28-18-10 record in Atlantic Hockey. The Crusaders finished 18-13-5 in the 2015-2016 season and posted a 16-7-5 record in conference action. The Crusaders' 16 conference victories were the most since the 2005-2006 season. The Crusaders posted their best finish in Atlantic Hockey since 2005-2006. The Crusaders led the league with 2.11 goals allowed per game in conference games. The Crusaders went 14-18-5 overall and 12-11-5 in Atlantic Hockey in the 2014-2015 season. The Crusaders only allowed 2.35 goals per game which set a school record. Senior goalie Matt Ginn earned first team All-Atlantic Hockey honors. The 2006-2007 season was the last time a Crusader had been on the first team. Berard assumed the position of interim head coach at UConn on Nov. 5, 2012, after serving as an assistant coach under Bruce Marshall. As interim head coach, Berard led the Huskies to a 19-10-3 record, including a 14-7-3 mark in Atlantic Hockey Association play. He guided UConn to a 10-3-2 record to close out the year, with the Huskies sweeping their Atlantic Hockey quarterfinal series against Robert Morris before ultimately falling in the Atlantic Hockey semifinals. In 2012-2013, the Huskies posted 14 regular-season conference wins, their highest total in program history at the time. All told, Berard coached one All-Atlantic Hockey selection, the Atlantic Hockey Goaltending Award Winner and seven Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team selections in 2012-2013. In 2011-2012, Berard joined the staff at UConn as an assistant coach, helping the Huskies to a 16-19-4 record while ranking second in the nation on the power play (25.7 percent) and 14th in the nation in the penalty kill (84.2 percent). UConn also boasted the second-ranked combined special teams unit in the country at 56.5 percent. Berard also had three different stints on the hockey staff at Providence, for a total of 16 seasons. He was most recently the Friars coordinator of mens ice hockey operations in 2013-2014, overseeing all aspects of video breakdown for in-game analysis and opponent scouting. Berard also coordinate team travel, helped with alumni outreach and worked with various community outreach and service projects. Previously, Berard was an assistant coach at Providence from 1994-1996 and 1998-2011. During the 13-year stint from 1998-2011, he directed skill development sessions for forwards and defensemen and worked extensively with Friar goaltenders. For seven seasons, he also coordinated and directed the penalty killing strategy. Berard developed scouting reports and oversaw the implementation and use of video technology for the program. Administratively, he served as the staff liaison for the office of academic services, which monitored the academic progress of student-athletes. In addition, Berard served as Providences recruiting coordinator from 1998-2005, and was the teams associate head coach from 2003-2005. He was instrumental in bringing a number of talented players to Providence, recruiting three American Hockey Coaches Association All-Americans, one CoSIDA Academic All-American, seven Hockey East All-Stars and five Hockey East All-Rookie team selections. Additionally, Berard recruited 21 players who were drafted in the National Hockey League, and coached 10 student-athletes who eventually played in the NHL. Furthermore, two of Berards recruits represented the United States at the International Ice Hockey Federation under-20 world championship. In Berards first two years at Providence, the Friars made consecutive trips to the Hockey East championship game, finishing as the runner-up in 1995 and winning the championship in 1996. For their efforts, the Friars earned an automatic berth to the 1996 NCAA Tournament. In 2000-2001, Berard helped guide the Friars to the best Hockey East regular season finish in program history (second place), with the team advancing to the Hockey East championship game and earning an at-large bid to the 2001 NCAA Tournament. Between his first two stints at Providence, Berard served as the top assistant coach at Lake Superior State University for two years from 1996-1998. He served as recruiting coordinator during his time with the Lakers, while helping the team to an overall record of 34-32-9. Berard began his coaching career as an assistant at Colby College for two years from 1992-1994. Throughout his career, Berard has been heavily involved in player development for USA Hockey at the national, district and local levels. In addition to presenting at many coaching education program clinics, he has coached at numerous USA Hockey national select festivals and New England player development camps. From 2003-2008, Berard served as the director of player development for the New England district. In the summer of 2004, Berard served as an assistant coach for the USA Hockey under-17 select team, which won the silver medal at the Five Nations Tournament in Germany. In 2008, Berard was named as a coach for the USA Hockey Warren Strelow National Goaltending Mentor Program. A goaltender in his playing days at Providence, Berard was a member of one of the most successful classes to wear a Friar uniform, amassing a total of 87 wins over their four-year career. Berard was a member of three teams that reached the Hockey East Tournament semifinals and two teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Peter Roundy
Associate Head Coach
Roundy directed the penalty kill to first place in the NESCAC, while the defense also led the league with 1.56 goals allowed per game. During his first three years as an assistant coach at Trinity, he served as both recruiting and video coordinator, coached the defensemen, and directed the penalty killing units. The Bantams qualified for the post-season in each of Roundy's three seasons and won the 2013-2014 NESCAC regular season championship. Roundy started his coaching career at Becker College where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Hawks in 2010-2011. Roundy helped guide the Hawks to a 7-4-3 mark against conference opponents and played a pivotal role in helping Becker complete one of the most successful seasons in the school's history, as the team reached the conference semifinals for only the second time. A 2010 graduate of Stonehill College, Roundy was a four-year member and two-time captain of the hockey team. The team won the 2007 Northeast-10 Championship. He ranks among the top-ten assist leaders in Stonehill program history. A native of Simsbury, Conn., Roundy earned a bachelor's degree from Stonehill in Health Care Administration with a minor in Business Administration. He earned his master's degree in Public Policy Studies at Trinity in 2013.

Brock Sheahan

Sheahan spent the 2013-2014 season at Notre Dame as a volunteer assistant coach as his alma mater went 23-15-2 and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Before returning to Notre Dame, Sheahan played five years of professional hockey. He spent four seasons in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) playing one season with the Wheeling Nailers (2008-2009), two seasons with the Cincinnati Cyclones (2009-2011) and one with the Ontario Reign (2012-2013). Sheahan appeared in 327 ECHL games with 14 goals and 67 assists for 81 points. He served as an assistant captain at Ontario, Cincinnati and Wheeling. He led the Cyclones to the Kelly Cup championship in 2010. He also played one season in Germany with SC Riessersee (2011-2012) as he posted three goals and 24 assists for 27 points. Sheahan played for the Irish from 2004 to 2008 and was part of Notre Dame's first CCHA championship team in 2006-2007 and first Frozen Four team the following year as a senior assistant captain advancing to the 2008 national championship game. During his career, he played in 161 games, scoring four goals with 29 assists for 33 points. He was one of the leaders on two of the top defensive teams in the nation during his career. As a junior, he was fourth on the team with a +20 on a squad that led the nation in goals-against average with a 1.63 mark. That team went 32-7-3 on the way to its first CCHA regular-season and Mason Cup championships. The following year as a senior, Sheahan helped the Irish to the Frozen Four championship game with a 27-16-4 record. The Irish gave up 2.10 goals-per game that year and he led them with a +21. He was selected as the winner of the William Donald Nyrop Award as that team's top defenseman. A native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Sheahan graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in finance from the Mendoza College of Business. Will Moran
Coach
Moran tracked team and player statistics, created player profiles and performed statistical anaylysis of player and team stats. While at UConn, Moran also served as the campaign leader for the You Can Play initiative, which led the nation as the number one collegiate athletic diversity initiative. Moran organized events to help promote the You Can Play initiative on the UConn campus. Moran has experience in the radio and broadcasting world as well. He worked as a Sports Programming Intern for NFL Radio on Sirius XM Radio, which is focused on creating informed and entertaining discussions on the National Football League. While there, Moran selected and edited soundbites from guests and hosts, worked as a studio engineer for live talk-radio programming and summarized broadcast highlights in a live radio atmosphere. Moran is a 2015 graduate of the Univeristy of Connecticut with a bachelors of arts degree in Finance from the UConn School of Business. As a student, Moran worked as the sports director for WHUS-FM Student Radio. He was the lead hockey broadcaster, play-by-play broadcaster and broadcast engineer. Moran also served as the overseer of a 15-person sports department and managed a $30,000 budget for UConns radio station.
