Jessica Giuggioli was named the 11th head coach in Tribe women's tennis history on Dec. 1, 2021 and has led the Tribe to three CAA Championships in her four seasons at the helm of the program. In her first three seasons, Giuggioli led the Tribe to back-to-back-to-back CAA titles. For her efforts, was named the CAA Coach of the Year each season and became the first CAA women's tennis coach to win the award in three-straight seasons. The Tribe is 60-27 (.690) over her four seasons and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times. Giuggioli and the Tribe have dominated CAA competition since her arrival. W&M is 30-3 against league foes over the last three years. Included in that stretch was a 28-match CAA win streak, the second-longest in program history. In total, the Tribe earned 21 All-CAA honors over the last four years (13 singles and eight doubles), including nine first teamers. W&M led the CAA in total selections in 2023 and 2024, while topping the league in first team choices each of the last three years (2023, 2024, 2025). Giuggioli mentored the CAA Player of the Year in her first three seasons. Hedda Gurholt became the fifth Tribe player to win multiple league player of the year honors in 2023 and 2024, while Mila Saric received the distinction in 2022. Saric went on to be the first Tribe player since 2016 to complete at the NCAA Singles Championship. In 2023, the Tribe not only won its third-straight CAA crown, it set a school record in the process. W&M won 14-straight matches beginning in early March through the CAA Championship match. It equaled the school mark for consecutive wins accomplished last in 2003.   Giuggioli came to W&M after spending the last six seasons as a Division I head women's tennis coach at Radford and ULM. Following the COVID-19 shortened first season in 2019-20, she led the Warhawks to an 11-6 mark, including a 4-4 record in Sun Belt play last year.   Prior to taking over at ULM, Giuggioli spent parts of four seasons as the head coach at Radford. In just three years, she turned around the program from a 2-15 record into the first Highlander team in more than decade to finish with a winning overall and conference record. RU advanced to the Big South Championship match for the first time since 1990 and completed the 2019 campaign at 14-9 overall and a 5-4 in Big South play.   In total at Radford, Giuggioli recruited and developed five players that earned All-Big South honors. The Highlanders also had a doubles team earn all-conference honors for the first time since 1998. Drousile Dzeubou was a three-time first team all-conference singles selection, becoming the first Highlander to achieve the feat.   Giuggioli's teams have had success in the classroom as well. During each of her six seasons as a Division I head coach, her teams earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors. She has coached 24 ITA Scholar-Athlete honoree over the last six years. Giuggioli started her head coaching career in the state of Virginia at Division III Emory & Henry. In total, she spent three seasons with the Wasps, including leading the program to its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament since 2009. Giuggioli coached the 2014 ODAC women's tennis Rookie of the Year, Stella Di Michele. Di Michelle earned all-conference first team honors at No. 1 singles and paired with Lauren Riner to claim All-ODAC honors at No. 1 doubles. During Giuggioli's time at Emory & Henry, she recruited and placed three players in the regional rankings for the first time in program history. She was promoted from head women's tennis coach to head men's and women's tennis coach in the summer of 2015. Giuggioli started her coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at East Tennessee State from 2011-13. The Buccaneers posted a 26-15 overall record and 15-2 mark in ASUN Conference play over her two seasons, including a 2011 ASUN Regular Season Championship and two ASUN tournament runner-up finishes. Five ETSU players earned all-conference honors in 2011-12. Giuggioli received her master's degree from ETSU in professional communication and public relations. Giuggioli played collegiately at both the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky. At Missouri, she was ranked as high as No. 17 in the ITA Central Region singles ranking and No. 8 in doubles. During both her junior and senior seasons, she received Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honors and was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Giuggioli helped the Tigers earn a national ranking as high as No. 58 while playing at the top singles spot. She earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish from Missouri in 2010 Giuggioli played her first two collegiate seasons at Kentucky, where she was named All-SEC Second Team during the Wildcats' Sweet 16 run in 2006. UK twice earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament during her time in Lexington and was ranked in the top 35 nationally as a team. She was named to Kentucky's Academic Honor Roll.  

An 18-year coaching veteran, Steve Schram joined the Tribe as the program’s assistant coach in July of 2025.     Schram comes to Williamsburg with impressive credentials, including 10 years of head coaching experience with five at the Division I level. He owns a career head coaching record of 126-58 (.685), including a 42-24 (.636) conference mark, with stops at Eastern Michigan (2022-23), Southern Mississippi (2018-22), Nova Southeastern (2013-16), and Limestone (2011-13).  As a head coach, Schram guided 18 student-athletes to all-conference honors, including four first-team selections, and three All-Americans. His teams have received eight ITA All-Academic Team Awards with 32 ITA Scholar-Athlete honorees.   Most recently, Schram was a teaching at Lifetime Athletic Club in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. He was an assistant coach in the Big Ten at the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2023. Prior to his work in the North Star State, Schram was a Division I head coach at Eastern Michigan University and the University of Southern Mississippi. At EMU, he led the Eagles to six wins and mentored a freshman to All-MAC First Team honors in 2023.   During his four seasons at Southern Miss, Schram guided the Golden Eagles to new heights. The program amassed a 44-14 record in his tenure, including a perfect 28-0 mark at home. The Golden Eagles achieved the program’s highest regional ranking at No. 7 in the ITA South Region in 2021 and followed it up by finishing No. 8 in 2022. The 2022 season also saw Southern Miss earn its highest Conference USA Tournament seed in program history at No. 6. During the 2019-20 season, the Golden Eagles enjoyed the best start in school history at 11-1 before the season with cancelled due to COVID-19. In total, he coached four All-Conference USA selections (two singles, one doubles, and one freshman) in Hattiesburg.   Schram’s first two head coaching stops came at the Division II level at Limestone University and Nova Southeastern University. During his time with the latter, he established the Sharks as one of the top programs in the country. Each of his final two seasons in Fort Lauderdale, ended with Nova Southeastern in the national top 10 at No. 7 in 2015 and No. 8 in 2016. He coached three All-Americans during his tenure as well as the ITA South Region Player to Watch and Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award winner in 2016. Schram was selected at the ITA South Region Coach of the Year in 2015 after leading the Sharks to an 18-3 record and an NCAA Regional appearance.   As an assistant coach, Schram spend time at Division II power Barry University (2016-18) along with Division I stops at Minnesota (2023), Bucknell University (2008-11), Radford University (2007-08), and Wofford College (2006-07). In his two seasons at Barry, he helped the Buccaneers to back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championships and a perfect 58-0 record. Schram was named the ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018 and took home South Region Assistant Coach of the Year honors in both 2017 and 2018. He worked with both the men’s and women’s tennis programs as an assistant at Wofford and Bucknell.   Schram played collegiately at the University of Charleston in West Virginia (2001-02) and Florida Gulf Coast University (2002-05). During his three seasons with the Eagles, he helped propel the program to a 48-14 record. In 2005, Schram led FGCU to a school record 19 wins and the program’s first NCAA Division II Tournament appearance. The Eagles knocked off its highest ranked opponent in No. 4 Lynn and ascended to its highest national ranking at No. 7 a week later.   Schram earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from FGCU in 2006. He received his Master of Education in transformational leadership from Aspen University, Denver, Colo., in 2011.
