Diana Caskey

Head Coach

Caskey stands out among her peers within the Ivy League as the only womens coach to recruit an Olympic Gold Medalist and NCAA champion in Cristina Teuscher 00CC. Under the direction of Diana Caskey, Columbia women's swimming put together a stellar 2013-14 campaign. For the first time in program history, the Lions clinched the Ivy League dual-meet regular season title with a 7-0 record. En route to their first undefeated season, Columbia kicked-off the year with its first win over Harvard in program history. A 163.5-137.5 victory over the Crimson gave the Lions an incredible spark to achieve its best regular season of all-time.

Demerae Christianson

Assistant Coach

Christiansons credentials speak for themselves. As a student-athlete she was a 15-time All-American and won three NCAA National Championships with Auburn University from 2002-04. Since then, she has coached at some of the top swimming universities in the country. I am really excited to welcome Demerae to the Columbia swimming staff, said head coach Diana Caskey. She has amazing coaching credentials, wonderful energy and a clear passion for the sport. She is a terrific match for the program. Before arriving to Morningside Heights, Christianson spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater. She coached six athletes that competed in the 2015 Pan American Games, World University Games and one student to earn two gold medals in the Australia and New Zealand Commonwealth Games in 2014. Christianson also played a key role in developing 2013 NCAA 100-meter butterfly champion, Olivia Scott. Prior to her time at Auburn, Christianson served as an assistant coach for Arizona State from 2009-12. She helped the Sun Devils place nine swimmers in the NCAA National Championships, which was the largest group to represent Arizona State in seven years. She also served as an assistant coach at the University of Louisville in the 2008-09 campaign and the University of Maryland for two seasons, where she coached four Olympic trial swimmers. Christianson graduated from Auburn in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. As a student, she was a team captain and gold medalist in the 2003 and 2005 World University Games, a top three finisher in the 2004 United States Olympic Trials, and ranked sixth in the world in the 100 Meter Butterfly in 2004.
