Todd May

Head Coach

Todd May starts his 10th season as the head men's basketball coach at Concord during the 2025-26 school year. May owns a record of 137-115 on the sidelines in Athens, and is the third-winningest coach in program history behind Steve Cox (336 wins) and Don Christie (171 wins) who the Carter Center Court is named after. Under May, the Mountain Lions have made four Mountain East Conference Tournament Semifinal appearances (2018, 2019, 2024, 2025).  May's 2023-24 squad made the NCAA Tournament after finishing with a 22-7 mark. Concord earned the sixth seed in the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament. With the historic season, CU also returned to the MEC Semifinals for the first time in five years under May's guidance. The team success brought individual accolades with Kollin Tolbert (first team), JJ Harper (second team) and Rene Diop (honorable mention) all landed on the All-MEC Teams. Overall, May has coached ten All-MEC performers with three players earning All-MEC in 2025: Kollin Tolbert (first team), Corey Boston (second team) and Rene Diop (honorable mention). Tolbert was named MEC Player of the Year, CU's first conference player of the year in 20 years. Diop was awarded the inaugural MEC Defensive Player of the Year.  And Tolbert became the second All-American on May's watch, joining Tommy Bolte (2017, 2018).  After winning 11 games during his first year on the sidelines, May and the Mountain Lions made an six-win improvement as they went 17-13 during the 2017-18 season. May collected his first 20-win season, and the program's 10th, when CU went 20-10 in 2018-19. CU finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 15-15, appearing in the MEC Quarterfinals. May helped Daniel Rahama became a First Team All-MEC First Team selection as well as a second team all-region player, the first for the program in four years. The Mountain Lions finished sixth in the Mountain East Conference during the 2021-22 season. It included CU's fifth all-conference selection, Matt Weir, with May as the head coach. During the shortened 2021 season, Concord posted a record of 9-8 and made the MEC Quarterfinals for the fourth consecutive season. While coaching Bolte to consecutive All-American honors, May watched Bolte become the sixth player in school history surpass 2,000 career points. May has also had the privilege of coaching back-to-back NCAA Division II Statistical Champions--Bolte in scoring during the 2017-18 season and Jair Rodgers in made three-pointers per game during the 2018-19 campaign. May also coached Aaron Miller to a spot on the All-Mountain East Conference Second Team during his senior season. Additionally, May saw Tommy Bolte go from a reserve role player as a freshman to blossoming as one of Concord's best players in 2016-17. May spent the prior four seasons as the assistant coach on McBride's staff at Concord as the Mountain Lions piled up a mark of 66-51 over that span with 42 of those wins coming the last two seasons. May played a vital part in Concord winning the 2016 MEC Tournament Championship and appearing in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament. It was for the first time for both feats since 1997. Along with his coaching duties at Concord, May has also assisted with the compliance work since arriving prior to the 2012-2013 season. May is a 1995 graduate of Circleville High School in Circleville, Ohio.  After high school, he attended Ohio University, where he got his start in coaching as an undergraduate.  He was the Freshman Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Miller High School from 1998-2000. His senior year at Ohio University, 2000-2001, he was a Student Assistant, under Larry Hunter. After college graduation, he went to Jackson High School where over a six year period he served as the Head Freshman, Junior Varsity Head Coach, Varsity Assistant Coach and Varsity Head Coach.  During the six years at Jackson, the Ironmen won a sectional championship, and recorded a school record, 18 wins in the 2004-2005 season.  In the summer of 2005, May was named Varsity Head Coach of the Jackson program, where he guided the Ironmen to a winning season in his first year at the helm.  In 2007 he returned home to Circleville and was the Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach.  From 2008-2012, he was an integral part of Columbus State Community College's national success.  During his time the Cougars were 101-24, with a national tournament appearance in 2009. While at CSCC he helped seven players reach the NCAA Division I level. Additionally, May helped recruit Terry Hopewell to CSCC before he joined the Concord staff. The next season Hopewell came to CU where he ended up being an all-conference selection. May graduated from Ohio University in 2001, with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and is currently working on his masters of arts in health promotion at Concord. May resides in Princeton with his wife, the former Megan Graham, also from Circleville, Ohio.   Year Coached School Wins Losses Win Pct. Drew Greene

Assistant Coach

Drew Greene starts his second season on the men's basketball staff as an assistant coach in 205-26. Greene came to Concord after spending the 2023-24 season at Division I IU-Indianapolis, formerly IUPUI. He was originally hired on as the director or operations for the Jaguars, but was promoted to a full-time assistant. Although Greene has spent the last few years in the Midwest, he is familiar with Appalachia having played at former Mountain East Conference school UVa.-Wise from 2019-21. Greene hails from High Point, North Carolina. Greene helped guide the Mountain Lions to a 17-11 record this past winter as CU finished fourth in the MEC standings. With Greene on the sidelines, three players earned All-MEC honors. Kollin Tolbert was a first team selection, Corey Boston made the All-MEC Second Team and Rene Diop was an All-MEC Honorable Mention performer along with being voted as the MEC Defensive Player of the Year.  Tolbert was selected as the MEC Player of the Year, and later in the postseason was named an NABC All-American with the help of Greene's coaching. After graduating in just two years from UVa.-Wise, Greene went on to play two graduate years of basketball at two NAIA schools, Bethel (Ind.) and Milligan (Tenn.). In addition to playing at each NAIA school, Greene was a part-time assistant coach at each stop. Greene holds his undergraduate degree in business administration from UVa.-Wise, a master’s in business administration from Bethel and a graduate degree in coaching and sports management from Milligan.
