Dave Cornell

Head Coach

Cornell enters his 11th season as the head coach of the Connecticut College men´s lacrosse program. In 2012, Cornell led the Camels to their second NCAA appearance in three years. The Camels surged in the second half of the season, winning their last five regular season contests.  In 2010, Cornell directed the Camel men's lacrosse program to a 14-3 record that culminated with a home game in the second round of the NCAA Championship. The Camels set a school record with 13 consecutive wins, climbing all the way up to #6 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) National Poll. At the conclusion of the season, Cornell was honored by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) as Coach of the Year.    In addition to the numerous conference and regional accolades the Camels received during their historic season, the senior duo of Pete Crisafulli and Steve Dachille were honored as USILA All-Americans. Cornell joined the Camel athletic program after spending the previous two years as the lead defensive assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame. Under the direction of Fighting Irish head coach Kevin Corrigan, Cornell assisted in all phases of a nationally ranked program that qualified for the 2006 NCAA Championship. While Cornell´s most recent experience is at the Division 1 level, he carries deep ties to Division III intercollegiate lacrosse. Cornell was a two-time All-America selection at Gettysburg College, contributing to three Centennial Conference Championship teams with the Bullets. Gettysburg reached its pinnacle in 1995 with an appearance at the NCAA Final Four. After graduating, Cornell returned to his alma mater, serving as offensive coordinator for three-seasons and defensive coordinator for one year. The Bullets made four consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the national championship game in 2001. In 2001, Cornell was named head coach of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa. Cornell developed and resurrected program that was reinstated after a 21-year hiatus, setting a program record for victories in 2003 and 2004. Cornell earned his Bachelor of Arts in business management and entrepreneurship at Gettysburg. Jim Nagle

Head Coach

Jim Nagle began his duties at Connecticut College as the interim head men’s lacrosse coach in January 2020 and was appointed the permanent head coach moving forward on May 15 of the same year. He is responsible for bringing a positive culture of respect to the program while overseeing all day-to-day operations.Nagle most recently served as the head men’s lacrosse coach at Stony Brook University for eight seasons, posting a 68-59 record overall and a 31-14 ledger against league opponents. During his tenure with the Seawolves, he won three America East regular season Conference titles, one America East tournament title, and helped the program qualify for the four-team America East Conference Tournament every year. Nagle was also named the America East Conference Coach of the Year twice, including in 2019, and he improved the program’s academic progress rate by 55 points. Furthermore, the Seawolves qualified for the NCAA Tournament, set a single-season school record for wins (13), a two-year record for wins (25), produced five All-Americans, and were ranked as high as eighth nationally by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) during his eight-year run.Prior to his arrival at Stony Brook, Nagle was 86-64 in 10 seasons as the head coach of the Colgate University Raiders and won at least 10 games in four of his last six seasons. He is the winningest coach in Raiders history as well as a two-time Patriot League Coach of the Year. Nagle mentored four All-Americans, including the school’s first-ever Tewaaraton Finalist, and led the Raiders to their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Colgate was also ranked as high as 10th nationally by the USILA.Nagle's first head-coaching position was at Oneonta State, where he went 65-39 in seven seasons between 1995 and 2001. In 1999, Nagle led the Red Dragons to a No. 11 ranking and a berth in the NCAA Tournament, earning USILA Division III Coach of the Year honors for his efforts. Nagle was named the SUNYAC Coach of the Year three times, and in 1998, Oneonta State boasted the nation's best regular season record at 12-1. Nagle began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Springfield College from 1992-94, where he served under legendary head coach Keith Bugbee. With Bugbee, who is just one of five collegiate men’s lacrosse coaches to capture 400 victories, he helped the Pride win an ECAC Championship in 1993 and an NCAA Division II Championship in 1994.As a player, Nagle lettered collegiately at Loyola College in Baltimore, Md. He was a member of a Greyhounds squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament four times, including a spot in the 1990 title game. On the scholastic level, Nagle played on Ward Melville’s 1988 state championship team which went a perfect 24-0.A native of Long Island, Nagle earned his bachelor’s degree in Business from Loyola in 1992 and a master’s degree in Physical Education from Springfield College in 1994. He and his wife, Kelly, have three daughters, Jamie, Ryan, and Meghan.

Dan Corcoran

Corcorans offenses output of 8.8 goals a game was enough to lead Connecticut College to the quarter finals of the NESCAC and NCAA tournament. Corcorans players were ranked fifth in shooting percentage, scoring 151 goals on 590 shot for a .271 percentage. His man up unit was ranked #1 in the NESCAC scoring percentage with 20 goals on 54 attempts for a .371 percentage. Corcoran coached his first offensive All-American mid-fielder John Lyons 13. In 2013, Corcoran's offense averaged 9.5 goals per game. The man-up offensive unit executed successfully on 33% of its chances to rank second in the NESCAC while the team finished third in the conference with a .288 shot percentge. Sophomore attackman Chad Sawyer was honored as a USILA All-American. Coach Corcoran directed the Camels defense in 2010 with a 14-3 record, their first-ever top seeding in the NESCAC Championship, a rise to #6 in US Lacrosse rankings, and their first appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. With Corcoran as defensive coordinator, the team limited opponents to an average of 7.1 goals per game, which earned the Camels second place in the league and 19 in the country. Corcoran coached two defensive All-Americans. The Camels defeated Tufts, Middlebury, Bowdoin, and Wesleyan who are among the national lacrosse powerhouses. Before New London, Corcoran spent three years as the head coach at Simsbury High School in Simsbury, Connecticut, where he turned them into a lacrosse powerhouse. His combined record of 53-12, included an undefeated 2008 regular season, three trips to the Class L state semi-finals and state runner-up title in the 2009 Class L state championship. He was awarded the 2008 Connecticut US Lacrosse Coach of the Year and 2008 CHSLCA Class L Coach of the Year. Corcoran coached 24 to the All-Conference Team, 14 players named to the Class L All-State team, two players named as All-Americans, and two as an Academic All-Americans, as well as the 2009 Player of the Year. Corcoran spent 15 years on Wall Street as a licensed trader, is currently involved in producing theater productions, consulting early stage start ups and running his Connecticut RIP-IT Elite lacrosse program. . He resides in Simsbury Connecticut with his wife Barbara, and children Tyler (Connecticut College Class of 2013), Ryan, Hannah and Meghan.

Connor Grippe

Assistant Coach

Connor Grippe is entering his first season as assistant coach of the Connecticut College men’s lacrosse program in 2023-24. Grippe joined the Camels after spending the last two years as a graduate assistant coach at St. Leo University in Tampa, Fla. He served as offensive coordinator for the Lions in addition to assisting in recruiting, travel planning, scouting and game planning.   Grippe oversaw an offensive explosion while at St. Leo, as the Lions produced the highest and second-highest scoring seasons in school history during his tenure. The program also ranked among the top 10 in offense at the Division II level in each season.  The increased offensive production led to more wins on the field, as St. Leo went from three victories in 2021 to six in 2022 and nine in 2023. Along the way, Grippe helped develop multiple all-conference selections and a pair of Inside Lacrosse All-Americans. A native of Setauket, N.Y., Grippe was a standout lacrosse player at Ward Melville High School before extending his career at Division I Stony Brook University. He was a five-year letter winner and two-year captain for the Seawolves, and in 59 career games he recorded 40 goals and 18 assists for 58 points. Grippe graduated with a degree in finance and marketing from Stony Brook in 2020, and went on to earn his MBA at St. Leo in 2023.
