Anika Goodhue
Assistant Coach
Goodhue enters her second season as assistant field hockey coach for Connecticut College. Goodhue also provides freelance photography for the Camel Athletic program. Goodhue graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and minor in exercise and sports sciences from Smith College. As an athlete for Smith, Goodhue was a highly versatile player capable of leading offensive, defensive, and midfield lines at any given point. She captained the Pioneers in her senior season; recording five goals, 18 assists, and one defensive save in her career. In addition to collegiate athletics, Goodhue has played abroad in five different countries, including a six month stay in Australia where she was an influential player for her University of Melbourne Hockey Club. Goodhue has been coaching since she was in high school, where she first developed a passion for sharing her knowledge by leading youth clinics. Since then, she has coached athletes at all ages, from brand new players to experienced collegiate athletes. After graduating from Smith, Goodhue returned to coach at her high school alma mater, Mount Anthony Union High School, and helped lead them to four Vermont State semifinal appearances in five seasons. She also assisted with Westfield State University in their spring seasons for the past two years. To help stimulate a growth and knowledge of field hockey in her area, Goodhue founded Evolution Field Hockey Club. While focused primarily on youth development, she also created opportunities for adults to play after graduation and developed a young-coaches program that mentored interested high school athletes in coaching.
