Gmetro is the Head Men's Baseball Coach and Golf Coach at Crown College. Gmetro had a successful playing career that included accolades at Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas, and New Mexico State University, where he earned a four year scholarship to play catcher.  Gmetro represented New Mexico State at the NCAA Division 1 Student Athlete Leadership Conference, and was awarded the Student Athlete Award three times for his academic and athletic achievements.  Gmetro's professional playing aspirations were cut short when he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 1999. Following his playing career, Mike and his wife moved to Michigan to begin ministry with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Mike served as the Associate Pastor in the inner city of Detroit at Acts 29 Fellowship for six years. He is currently credentialed as an ordained reverend with the C&MA.   In 2000, Mike coached Evergreen High School baseball team, a previously unsuccessful team, to a second place finish in the Colorado State Playoffs. Many of the players on this team went on to play successful collegiate ball and one played professionally.   Mike believes that sound mechanics, discipline to train the body, commitment to team unity and dedication to Christ-like character are key elements to make a successful baseball program.   The Lord has given me a tremendous burden for raising up the next generation to be fully devoted followers of Christ on the field, in the classroom, and in their daily lives. Baseball is a platform that allows athletes to bring God glory in the way they come everyday ready to compete and in the way they take care of their teammates.   Mike and his wife Liza have a daughter (Lila) and son (Dax).
