Head Coach

Williams earned Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year honors as well. Cumberland won three times during Fall 2013 and placed second in its other tournament. The club also finished second in 3-of-4 spring events en route to the regular season championship. Last season the men won a pair of tournament in the spring and placed in the Top 3 in 6-of-9 events. On the women's side, Cumberland's 2014-15 squad featured five freshmen and two seniors and claimed a pair of tournament titles in the fall and a second-place showing in the Mid-South Fall Invitational. CU ended the season third in the conference tournament. The Franklin, Tenn., native has worked in a variety of roles within the golf industry, including as an assistant and head professional at Indian Hills Golf Club in Murfreesboro, The Little Course as Aspen Grove, The Polo Club in Boca Raton, Fla., and Gaylord Springs Golf Club in Nashville. He was an independent sales representative from 1998-2007, including apparel for Nicklaus, Slazenger, Boast, Smith & Tweed, Robert Bryan, EP Pro, Bette & Court, Marcia and Sunderland of Scotland; headwear for Texace and American Dry Goods; and club manufacturers Nickent, La Jolla, Never Compromise, Stx putters and Zevo. Williams worked at SeeMore Putter Company as well, collaborating with special buying groups such as Golf USA, Pro Golf Discount and NGBA to develop individualized buying programs. He also represented the company at customer tradeshows and special events and was a PGA member from 1996-06. Williams received his bachelor's in Psychology from Middle Tennessee in 1992 and is currently working on his master's in Public Service Management at Cumberland.

Brianna Maynard

Assistant Coach

Maynard Graduate Assistant Brianna Maynard begins her first season as a graduate assistant with the golf program at Cumberland after completing her career at Long Island University-Brooklyn. The Auckland, New Zealand, native was a four-year letterwinner for the Blackbirds, helping LIU to conference championships her first three years on the squad and a second-place finish during her senior campaign. She was a Northeast Conference Commissioners Honor Roll and LIU Honor Roll honoree all four years. Maynard earned Second Team All-Northeast Conference honors as a sophomore, placing fifth at the NEC Championships, and was a Second Team selection as a junior, tying for third at the conference tournament. She was also a Second Team All-NEC honoree as a freshman, tying for 13th at the conference championships. She was voted NEC Player of the Week as a freshman, sophomore and senior and played in NCAA Regionals at Penn State, Stanford and Oklahoma State. Maynard was a member of the Student-Athlete Activities Committee and a member of Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society, helping with fundraisers and charity events for the Brooklyn Childrens Hospital, Childrens Cancer Recovery Foundation and Brooklyn Bowery Mission. She was named an All-American Scholar as a senior and received the Silver Award for most outstanding undergraduate student in the School of Business as well. She monitored the instant replay screen, filmed home games for online streaming and supported streaming footage with online graphics in the media relations office at LIU and provided campus tours to alumni, prospective students and potential sponsors and responded to students about the admissions process and application status in the LIU admissions office. She also worked as an ambassador for Go Ground Transport during the NBA All-Star game in New York in 2015. Maynard received her bachelors in Business Management from LIU in May 2015.

Jeremy Goodman

Assistant Coach

Goodman Volunteer Assistant Jeremy Goodman begins his second season as a volunteer assistant with the Cumberland golf program after finishing his playing career in 2013-14. The Gallatin, Tenn., native was a member of the Phoenix program for three years, earning TranSouth Conference Scholar-Athlete honors as a sophomore and Mid-South Conference Scholar-Athlete accolades as a junior and senior. He was named the Mid-South Conference Champions of Character Award winner during his senior season, as voted on by the league athletic directors. He also earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition during his junior and senior campaigns. Goodman played 19 career rounds over three semesters for the Phoenix before an injury sidelined him in 2013-14. He served as an assistant coach that season for Cumberland during practices and events. The US Army veteran was a member of the Deans List all six semesters he attended CU and was a member of Gamma Beta Phi and Phi Beta Lambda honor societies, graduating in May 2014 with a 3.67 grade-point-average in Computer Information Systems. He also chartered the Cumberland chapter of the Student Veterans of America.
