Brad Pickler
Head Coach
Pickler, one of the most respected softball coaches in the nation, begins his 29th season as the Chargers head coach. He enters the year with over 1,200 career wins and has led Cypress to a record eight State Championships. Pickler has also led the Chargers to 24 state finals appearances and helped Cypress earn 21 Orange Empire Conference, including last season. His legacy includes directing the Chargers to a record three consecutive state crowns from 1997-1999 with a combined 177-17 mark and a school-record 36-game win streak. Recently, he started another "three-peat" streak of state titles from 2010-2012. His 2010-2012 coaching staff was named the California Community College Coaching Staff of the Year for 3 straight years. Pickler arrived at Cypress in 1987 and has turned the softball program it into one of the most successful junior college programs in the United States. He took over a once depleted program and managed to turn it around overnight, earning himself 16 Conference Coach of the Year awards in his 29 seasons as head coach. Coach Pickler has been featured in Sports Illustrateds Faces in the Crowd section after guiding the Chargers to a once 66-5 record during the 1997 State Championship run. Pickler owns the state record with 8 state championships and will be looking for more as the Chargers seek an unprecedented 9th State Championship. In addition to his eight championships, the Chargers have also placed second (1993 and 2004), third (1992, 1995, 2007), and fourth(1989, 1994, 2002, and 2008) during his tutelage. Coach Pickler received his Bachelors Degree from Cal State Fullerton and his Masters Degree in special education from Cal Lutheran University. He currently resides in Anaheim with his wife Noel, daughter Paige, and son David. Brads parents are Betty and Irv. Picklers older brother Scott is the head coach of the highly successful baseball team here at Cypress.

Amanda Fama
Associate Head Coach
Bio Amanda Fama enters her second year as an Associate Head Coach with the Cypress Chargers Softball program, bringing a wealth of experience as an Olympic athlete and professional coach to the staff. In her first season, Fama helped lead the Chargers to their 26th Orange Empire Conference title and a berth in the 3C2A State Tournament, contributing significantly to the team’s continued success. Amanda made history as the first Cypress softball alum to represent the Chargers in the Olympics when she took the field for the Italian Softball National Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Fama faced off against the United States in the opening game of her Olympic career. She is also a 2x European Champion, 3x Italian League Champion, and 3x Cup Champion. During her time at Cypress, Amanda had a legendary career, helping the Chargers secure one state championship (2010) and three Orange Empire Conference championships. Over her two seasons (2008-2010), she etched her name into the Cypress record books 13 times. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Amanda was inducted into the Cypress Hall of Fame in 2017. Amanda continued her collegiate career at Concordia University, Irvine, and has since become a celebrated figure in the world of professional softball. Her deep understanding of the game and championship experience make her an exceptional mentor for the Chargers’ student-athletes.

Alyssa Huerta
Assistant Coach
Bio This is Alyssa's 2nd year with the Chargers. She started in 2024, took a year to be a grad assistant at Cal Baptist in 2025 and back with the Chargers for 2026. She played for Cypress in 2022, helping lead the team to the State Finals as a standout infielder for the Chargers. She earned her Bachelors degree at Cal State Fullerton and got her Masters at Cal Baptist University. Alyssa is in charge of the infielders, and also helps players with the mental side of the game. In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, taking visits to Vegas and her favorite thing is collecting baseball cards. Alyssa resides in Rancho Cucamonga.

Sammie Seabold
Assistant Coach
Bio Sammie Seabold joins the Cypress Chargers Softball program as an assistant coach, bringing a remarkable playing and coaching background to her second year with the team. In her debut season, Seabold played a key role in helping the Chargers capture their 26th Orange Empire Conference title and advance to the 3C2A State Tournament, making an immediate impact on the program’s success. As a student-athlete, Sammie played all four years as an outfielder for Cal State Fullerton, where she excelled on the field and earned an impressive list of accolades: 2018 All-Big West Second Team 2016 All-Big West Conference Honorable Mention 2015 NFCA All-West Region Second Team 2015 Big West Co-Freshman Field Player of the Year 2015 All-Big West Conference First Team 2015 All-Big West Conference Freshman Team 2015 Big West Softball Field Player of the Week (March 2-9) After her successful collegiate career, Sammie dedicated herself to coaching, spending four years as an assistant coach in high school softball. Her expertise in outfield play, her passion for the game, and her ability to mentor players make her a tremendous asset to the Chargers coaching staff.

Morgan Paul
Coach
Bio Morgan Paul enters her second year as the Recruiting Coordinator for the Cypress Chargers Softball program, bringing a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the team. In her first season, Paul helped guide the Chargers to their 26th Orange Empire Conference title and a trip to the 3C2A State Tournament, contributing to the program’s continued tradition of excellence. As a player, Morgan began her collegiate softball career at Arizona Western College, competing in the Arizona Community Athletic Conference (NJCAA) as an outfielder for the Matadors. She then transferred to Cal State Fullerton, where she continued her career in the NCAA Division 1 Big West Conference as a Titan. Morgan’s coaching journey spans an impressive seven years in high school softball. She served as an assistant coach for her first three years before stepping into the head coaching role for the last four years. Her commitment to developing athletes and fostering teamwork has made her a respected figure in the softball community. Morgan is excited to bring her passion for the game and extensive experience to the Cypress Chargers, aiming to contribute to the program’s continued success.

Chris Brown
Coach
Bio Chris Brown is in his 12th year at Cypress serving as the team manager. Brown has helped Cypress win the California Community Colllege State Softball Championship four times (2011, 2012, 2017, 2023). Chris does a great job and is very loyal to the Cypress Chargers. He is an avid Angels, Saints, and Mavericks fan. Chris would like to be an ESPN analyst.
