Kyle McLain

Head Coach

Kyle McLain enters his seventh season as the head coach of the D’Youville baseball program, where he has made a remarkable impact since his appointment. Under his leadership, the team achieved a historic milestone in 2024, recording a program-best 31 wins and clinching the Regular Season Conference Co-Championship in the East Coast Conference. His outstanding efforts earned him the accolades of Division II 2024 NCBWA East Region Coach of the Year and the 2024 East Coast Conference Coach of the Year. McLain has been instrumental in cultivating a culture of excellence within the program. In 2024, he developed D’Youville’s first-ever NCBWA All-American selection, showcasing his commitment to player development. His coaching has led to significant recognition for his athletes, producing four NCBWA All-East Region selections in 2024, along with additional selections in 2022 and 2023. The team also boasted seven First-Team All-Conference selections in 2024, a testament to the skill and dedication fostered during his tenure. A strong advocate for academic achievement, McLain has maintained a team GPA exceeding 3.4 every semester from 2019 to 2024, emphasizing the importance of balancing academics with athletics. Year-to-Year Coaching Record at D’Youville: 2019: 2-27 (2-16 Conference, NCAA DIII) 2020: 1-6 (0-0 Conference, NCAA DIII) 2021: 2-25 (0-21 Conference, NCAA DII/USCAA) 2022: 14-22 (7-11 Conference, NCAA DII/USCAA) 2023: 21-26 (10-12 Conference, NCAA DII/USCAA) 2024: 31-20 (18-6 Conference, NCAA DII) Before embarking on his coaching career, McLain was a standout player at Washington and Jefferson College, where he was a four-year starter. His playing career was marked by three First-Team All-Conference selections and an ACBA All-Region selection in 2012. He contributed to two NCAA Tournament appearances and helped secure a Presidents Athletic Conference Championship in 2013. Additionally, McLain was recognized as an NYCBL All-Star with the Olean Oilers in 2013. McLain resides in Snyder, NY with his wife, Katie, and three daughters, Addison, Riley, and Hayden.

Adam Lampman

Assistant Coach

Adam Lampman is in his first season as the graduate assistant for the D'Youville baseball program. Lampman was a three-year member of the D’Youville baseball team, graduating with his bachelor's in 2021. He headed the pitching staff for most of his career as a two-year team captain. Lampman set multiple program records as a pitcher for the Saints, including career innings pitched (152.0), single-season innings pitched (63.0), career games started (25), and single-season strikeouts (55). He currently ranks second in program history in career strikeouts (97) and pitching appearances (37). Prior to playing at D'Youville, Lampman attended Medaille College, where he pitched a 2.45 ERA as a reliever for the Mavericks. A native of West Seneca, N.Y., Lampman played scholastically at West Seneca West Senior High School where he achieved All-League honors. He was named to the Academic All-Western New York Team, 2016 West Seneca West Pitcher of the Year, and was the recipient of the Skip Vonsik Memorial Scholarship. Additionally, he played in the American Legion League for South Buffalo Post 721, where he was a two-time league all-start. During his high school career, Lampman also lettered in football and wrestling. Lampman continues to play baseball for the AAA Muny League for Team Deb. He currently resides in West Seneca, N.Y. and is on track to receive his Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy from D'Youville University in 2023.

Ryan Kalbfus

Assistant Coach

Kalbfus was named to the baseball staff in the summer of 2026. Prior to his arrival at D'Youville, Kalbfus spent the past three seasons at Grove City College. Kalbfus is coming off a season with the Wolverines where he helped guide them to 22 wins and a berth into the conference championship game. During the 2025 season, Kalbfus helped the team win a program-record 31 games and advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in program history. A native of Penfield, N.Y., Kalbfus started at third base for the Golden Knights and helped the program to two NCAA Tournament berths. Gannon won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's Western Division title in 2022.  He then joined the coaching staff for the 2022-23 academic year. He has also spent several summer as a coach with the Diamond Pro Baseball organization in western New York. Kalbfus earned PSAC Scholar Athlete honors as a player at Gannon. He also twice earned the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement award.  Kalbfus graduated with a bachelor's degree in supply chain management from Gannon. He also owns a master's degree in business analytics from Gannon.
