Holley Tyng
Associate Head Coach
Tyng has help lead the Big Green to two ECAC Hockey Tournament titles, an ECAC Hockey regular-season championship, an Ivy League title and four NCAA Tournament appearances. From 2002-2005, Tyng served as the girls varsity hockey head coach at Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass. Over her final two years, she led the team to a 23-10-5 record and a pair of berths in the New England Tournament. Ten of the 12 seniors Tyng coached during her first two seasons went on to play for Division I or III womens collegiate hockey programs. Four years ago she worked as a coach at the USA Hockey 15-year old camp in St. Cloud, Minn., and in the past she worked with the Select 14s in Rochester, N.Y. Prior to head coaching, Tyng was a summer counselor from 2000-03 at Providence College hockey camps, instructing players between the ages of nine and 18. She also helped evaluate the talent of 120 high schoolers from New England and the Canadian Maritimes trying out for Hockey Night in Boston in summer 2004. During her three years working at Tabor, Tyng was a student advisor and taught math. She also coached one year of varsity lacrosse and two of varsity softball. Prior to Tabor, Tyng played four years of hockey at Providence College, where she was a captain as a senior. She played forward and defense during her 133-game career. Tyng was an ECAC Hockey League All-Academic selection as a sophomore, junior and senior. A native of East Orleans, Mass., Tyng attended Tabor Academy before graduating from Providence College in May 2001 with a degree in math and a minor in business.

Mark Hudak
Assistant Coach
Hudak's tenure. For the third consecutive year, the team fell in the quarterfinals in postseason play. Lindsey Allen earned First-Team All-Ivy honors as the team went 3-6-1 in Ancient Eight play. In ECAC Hockey tilts, the squad went 8-13-1, while posting a 9-20-1 overall record. In 2012-13, the Big Green reached the ECAC Hockey Tournament for the ninth time during his tenure, before falling in the quaterfinals for the second straight season. He guided the team to a 16-10-5 overall mark and 11-7-4 in ECAC Hockey play. Dartmouth finished third in the Ivy League after going 6-2-2. In 2011-12, he guided the team to an 18-10-2 record with a 14-6-2 ECAC Hockey mark. The 2011-12 squad advanced to the ECAC Tournament for the eighth time with Hudak at the helm, falling to St. Lawrence in the First Round. During his tenure as the head coach, Hudak has coached two All-Americans, an Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year, an ECAC Hockey Player and Rookie of the Year, along with two first team All-ECAC selections, seven first team All-Ivy performers and an ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Year. He also has tutored four U.S. and Canadian National Team members who have combined for seven appearances at the last three Winter Olympics. During the 2010-11 season, Hudak helped the Big Green bounce back from a down 2009-10 season, leading Dartmouth to a 22-12-0 record with appearances in the ECAC Tournament Championship and the NCAA Tournament. The team ended the year ranked eighth in the nation. During the season, Hudak earned his 150th career victory and his 100th ECAC victory. Also that season, Hudak served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women's National Team at the 2010 Four Nations Cup and at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women's Championship at Hallenstadion. He was ultimately named the 2010-11 New England Hockey Writers Association Coach of the Year. In 2009, Hudak led Dartmouth to its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth of his coaching career. The Big Green also won their fourth ECAC Hockey Tournament and second under Hudak. During the 2008-09 season, he passed former head coach Judy Oberting for second all-time in career wins. Now, with 180 victories to his credit, Hudak is just 14 wins away from tying George Crowe as the all-time winningest coach in program history. During the 2007-08 season, the Big Green made the ECAC Hockey semifinals for the fourth time under Hudak. He achieved two milestones that season, posting his 100th career victory with a 6-4 win over Mercyhurst on Dec. 16 and leading Dartmouth to the program's 500th win on Nov. 17 with a 4-1 win against Yale. In 2006-07, Hudak led the Big Green to a record-tying 27 victories for the second time during his tenure as head coach. It was his third 20-plus win season since taking over the program in 2003. Hudak helped his team to its first ECACHL regular season championship since 2002 with a 16-1-1 regular season mark in conference play. The Big Green won the Ivy League, ECACHL regular season and ECACHL Tournament in the same season for the first time since 2000-01. During Hudak's second season as Dartmouth's head coach in 2004-05, the Big Green posted a 27-8-0 mark, garnering second-place regular-season finishes in both the ECAC Hockey League and Ivy League. Dartmouth qualified for the ECACHL championship game and then knocked off Wisconsin in the NCAA quarterfinals to reach its fourth NCAA Frozen Four. The 27 wins tied a single-season program record, and allowed Hudak to reach the 50-win plateau faster than any other coach in program history. In 2003-04, the Big Green went 24-8-2, won the Ivy League crown and advanced to the ECACHL semifinals after holding the No. 1 ranking in the nation for three weeks during the season. Hudak also became the first ever first-year coach to lead his team to the NCAA Frozen Four. Hudak and his coaches were twice named Staff of the Month by the American Hockey Coaches Association. Prior to his promotion to head coach in July 2003, Hudak helped direct the program to two NCAA Frozen Fours as an associate head coach and assistant. The Big Green advanced to the Frozen Four in 2001 and 2003, also claiming ECACHL championships both years. Additionally, Dartmouth won the 2001 and 2002 Ivy League championships. Since joining the Big Green women's hockey program in July 1998, Hudak has helped Dartmouth amass a record of 294-129-30 as an assistant coach, associate head coach and head coach. A 1989 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, Hudak played varsity hockey for the Black Knights and was a commissioned field artillery officer in the U.S. Army from 1989-92. Hudak headed the boys' hockey team at New Hampton School from 1993-96 and taught in the math and history departments. He was also an assistant men's hockey coach at Cortland State University from 1992-93. From 1996-98, Hudak was the hockey program director for the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, N.Y. While there, he created, administered and developed a varsity program for girls, as well as varsity and jayvee programs for boys. As coach of the boys' varsity, Hudak compiled a 58-17-7 record. In addition to his college coaching experience, Hudak has served as a coach for multiple USA Hockey camps. He has helped at USA Hockey National Camps in Lake Placid in 2000 and 2005. Hudak served as a coach at the USA Girls' Regional Junior Camps in 1998-99. In 2006, he worked at the U.S. Under-22 National Camp and has also served as a coach for the US Under-18 National Camp in Lake Placid. Hudak has directed at both the Elite Hockey Training Centers and the NSA Hockey School. He has also served as a guest lecturer for USA Hockey Coaches Clinics.

Josh Liegl
Assistant Coach
Liegl joined the Dartmouth women's hockey coaching staff full time in June of 2012. Liegl was a volunteer assistant with the Big Green in 2011-12, and previously was on the Ohio State women's hockey team's coaching staff for three years. "Josh brings a great deal of experience with him which will benefit us all," head coach Mark Hudak said. "I have known Josh for a number of years; he is well respected by all those in the collegiate hockey community, and we are fortunate to have someone of his quality join the Big Green. In 2011-12, Liegl worked with the Dartmouth goaltenders through on-ice practice and video development sessions. Also in 2011, he served as the video coach for the USA Hockey Women's National Team at the Four Nations Cup. The women's team earned the gold medal at the Cup. Liegl was an assistant women's hockey coach at The Ohio State University from 2008-2011. He coordinated all aspects of team travel; air and bus travel, hotel details, meal planning and budget. Liegl evaluated the recruitment of potential student-athletes, and assisted the coaching staff in all aspects of program operations and mentoring student-athletes. During his time with the Buckeyes, the team was a WCHA Final Faceoff participant in 2010, and had multiple players earn All-WCHA honors. From 2006-08, Liegl was an assistant coach for the RPI women's hockey team. The program reached the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals in the inaugural season of conference membership in 2006-07. He helped reduce goals against from 99 (2006-07) to 73 (2007-08). He was an assistant women's hockey coach at Colgate from 2004-06. The program had consecutive winning seasons in ECAC Hockey play during his time. Prior to Colgate, Liegl was an assistant coach on the Findlay women's hockey team from 2002-04. He started his coaching career as an assistant at American International College in 2001. Liegl graduated from Marian College in 2000 with a degree in business management. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Sabres and was a Second Team All-Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association goaltender in 1998-99. He was a team captain for two seasons and the team MVP in 1996-97 and 1997-98.

Tom Smith
Coach
Smith is responsible for all travel plans, assisting the coaching staff in video production and serving as a liaison to the athletic department and College offices in addition to other actions supporting the Green. A 2009 graduate of Castleton State with a bachelors degree in Sports Administration, Smith earned his MEd. in Educational Leadership and Athletic Administration from Plymouth State University. Prior to arriving in Hanover, Smith served as an assistant coach for both the mens and womens ice hockey teams at Plymouth State. Before that, he was an assistant coach and assistant hockey operations coordinator for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
