Vince Lazar
Head Coach
Lazar enters his 16th season as DePauws head mens and womens golf coach and was named the National Golf Coaches Associations Women's Division III Coach of the Year in 2002, 2004 and 2011. Additionally, he is a seven-time regional coach of the year selection. Lazar has led the women's team to 12 straight appearances in the NCAA Division III Championships including three second-place finishes and four third-place showings. In all, Lazar's women's teams have totaled nine top-five national finishes. He also led the men's team to the Division III Championships in 1999 and 2005 and was one of only four coaches NCAA history at the time to take both programs to the Division III Championships in the same season when he did so in 2005. Additionally, Lazar has coached three individuals in the national championships. During his tenure, 11 student-athletes have earned a total of 24 all-America honors and they've accumulated over 25 All-American Scholar accolades. Lazar's teams have captured nine women's conference titles including seven in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the first two as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the men won one in the SCAC. In all, Lazar has totaled 10 conference coach of the year honors and his student-athletes have been named conference golfer of the year on nine occasions. A native of Crown Point, Indiana, Lazar was the 1980 Indiana Junior PGA Champion and 1981 Indiana Junior Long Drive Champion. He was a four-year letterman at the University of New Orleans (Division I). While completing his bachelors degree in physical education, he served as the assistant golf coach and assistant academic advisor. Two years later he completed his masters degree in clinical exercise physiology at Indiana University. He completed his doctoral course work in 1998 at Indiana University in the area of Motor Learning with a minor in Sport Psychology. Lazar is a 24-year PGA professional and has worked at Lakes of the Four Seasons in Crown Point, Indiana; Martinsville Country Club in Martinsville, Indiana; and the Indiana University Golf Club in Bloomington, Indiana. Before being named head coach at DePauw, Lazar served as an assistant golf professional for seven years and assistant golf coach for two years for hall of fame mens and womens golf coach Sam Carmichael at Indiana University. During his time at Indiana, both teams qualified for the Division I NCAA Championships. Along with his coaching responsibilities at DePauw, Lazar is also an instructor in the schools kinesiology department. In addition he served on the NCAA Womens Golf Championship Committee and the NCAA Mens Regional Golf Committee. Lazar also was the Division III Director on the National Golf Coaches Association Board of Directors. Lazar currently resides in Greencastle, with his wife Lisa and children Evan, Maura and Harper. Clint Wallman
Head Coach
Clint Wallman was named DePauw's head men's and women's golf coach in January 2022 Began head coaching career at Indiana University in 2004 and led the Hoosiers to six NCAA Division I regional team appearances including advancement to the the NCAA Division I Championships in 2007 and 2019 as well as three individual qualifiers. The Hoosiers posted top-five Big Ten finishes five times with the 2019 squad placing in a tie for second. During his tenure in Bloomington, the student-athletes he coached earned nine All-Big Ten honors, 85 Academic All-Big Ten accolades and were recognized as National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team selections 18 times. He also coached the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2011. His Indiana teams won nine regular season tournament titles and individuals garnered medalist honors 13 times. Prior to coming to Indiana, Wallman served as assistant women's golf coach at University of New Mexico where he helped lead the Lobos to back-to-back NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship appearances and a number-three national ranking in March 2004. Wallman owned and directed instruction at the Clint Wallman Golf School in Spokane, Wash., from 1996 through 2002 after serving as head golf professional at multiple courses and clubs. Two-time Pacific Northwest PGA Teacher of the Year award winner and four-time Inland Empire PGA Teacher of the Year honoree. Had a successful playing career that included the 2015 Indiana PGA Senior Southern Open title and capturing the 1990 Chrysler National Putting Championship. Graduated in 1985 from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. A two-time captain and won the 1984 Washington State Invitational. Served as an assistant coach for the Cougars in 1984-85.
