Don Nichter

Head Coach

Nichter doesnt believe in standing on the sidelines. As head coach of the mens and womens cross country and track and field teams, Nichter trains regularly, demonstrating his own commitment to the sport and athlete.   During his 28 years as womens cross country coach, he has been named Mideast Regional Coach of the Year seven times. He was voted mens Centennial Conference (CC) Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2009. Nichter took over as head coach of the mens and womens track and field programs at Dickinson in 2007.   As the longtime head coach of two very successful cross country programs, he brings strong experience and passionate work ethic to the track and field programs. Nichter is a Level 3 certified distance coach and is directly responsible for coaching these event athletes while overseeing the assistant coaching staff.   During his career at Dickinson, Nichter has been privileged to coach 25 All-Americans in cross country and track and field and 68 Academic All-Americans. His teams have won 12 Centennial Conference titles.   The Dickinson men captured their first Centennial 'Triple Crown', winning team titles in cross country, and indoor and outdoor track & field in 2009-10. The men captured their first conference cross country title in 2008.   A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Nichter earned his bachelors degree at Ithaca College in 1979 and a masters from The Pennsylvania State University in 1983. He started his coaching career at Dickinson in the fall of 1983.

Scott Still

Assistant Coach

Still had the privilege of Coaching at the Division 1 level for several years. His first coaching stop at the DI level came at Duke University and then The University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill. While at the DI level, Coach Stills athletes enjoyed unprecedented success, establishing 39 University records, three NCAA National Championship medal winners (2,3 and 5), 11 Atlantic Coast Conference Pole Vault Champions, five NCAA Regional Qualifiers, one IC4A Pole Vault Champion, one ECAC Champion and one Penn Relays Champion. In addition to this, one of his former vaulters has earned US Olympic Team Status, as well as having International success, earning a medal at the IAFF World Indoor Championships.  After a brief hiatus to focus on his family and business, Coach Still is now enjoying developing and building Dickinsons Vault program to continually compete on the national level. Coach Still attended Millersville University, competing in both Track & Field and Football. He now resides in Carlisle Pa., with his family.

Mary Nolte

Assistant Coach

Nolte earned 12 varsity letters, serving as captain of the cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field teams during the 2012-2013 seasons. In the fall of 2012, Nolte competed at the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championship. In the spring of 2013, Nolte placed 21 in the 1500 meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and earned All-Academic Honors. Nolte currently holds three, top-three times on the Dickinson All-Time List in the 800 meter run, 1500 meter run, and 5000 meter run. In May 2013, she was awarded the prestigious Lloyd W. Hughes Scholar Athlete award for her academic and athletic achievements.
