Ben Shroyer
Coach
Shroyer has worked diligently to grow the size and quality of the distance program. During the 2015-2016 campaign, Shroyer guided the Mens and Womens Cross Country teams to new heights as both teams won the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Cross Country Championship title and received an automatic berth to the NAIA National Cross Country Championships in Charlotte. It was the first ever conference title for the womens program and the first conference title for the men since 2011. Shroyer was named the NSAA Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2015. During the 2016 outdoor track season, four athletes qualified for NAIA OTF Championships in the marathon under Shroyers tutelage. Brittney Grove set a new school record in the 26.2 mile distance and in 2015 Eddie Meneses received All-American honors in the marathon, while setting a new school record as well. I am excited about our team this year. We only graduated three men and two women from our program in 2015. We have a great core group of returners and a strong class of new recruits coming in this fall. I am excited to see what the season holds as we look to repeat as NSAA Champions, says Coach Shroyer. Shroyer has a Bachelors Degree in Sport Management from Cedarville University (OH) and Dual Masters Degrees in Sport Management and Sport Coaching from United States Sports Academy (AL). Shroyer is a USATF Level 1 certified coach and serves as the NSAA Cross Country Sport Chair. While at Cedarville, Shroyer was a four-year participant on the cross country and indoor/outdoor track and field teams. Shroyer competed at the NAIA National Cross Country Meet three years and qualified individually for the 3,000-meter run at the NAIA ITF Championships in 2005 and 2006. Since running competitively, Shroyer has completed four marathons, including the prestigious Boston Marathon in 2009. Shroyer also serves Dickinson State as the Facility & Events Coordinator of the Henry Biesiot Activities Center (BAC) where he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the athletic and multipurpose facility. His primary responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling, coordinating and supervising all athletic and special revenue generating events held at the BAC. Shroyer is responsible for managing the annual operating budget, developing and implementing the facilities marketing and advertising campaigns and the production and distribution of all promotional and marketing pieces. Shroyer assists with the sale of luxury suites, club seat, and advertising/sponsorship packages, coordinates all special facility projects, repairs, and routine maintenance requests; and daily collaborates with internal and external entities affiliated with Dickinson State, community groups, and various stakeholders. Shroyer resides in Dickinson, N.D. with his wife, Amy, and their three children: Emma, Ryan & Abraham.
