Sutterfield is in his fifth season as Dixie States head mens golf coach. Last season Sutterfield led the Trailblazers to their second-straight Pacific West Conference championship and the programs eighth-straight NCAA postseason appearance, at which DSU placed ninth-overall. In 2015, he led DSU to its first-ever PacWest crown and to an 18th-place showing at the NCAA West regionals. The year prior he was named PacWest Coach of the Year after DSU placed second at the conference championships, and in 2013 he led the Dixie State to a third-place league finish. Prior to his arrival to DSU, Sutterfield played professional golf for 15 years as a member of the PGA Tour, European Tour, the Web.com Tour, Canadian Tour, Asian Tour and European Challenge Tour. He played collegiately at BYU, where he earned all-conference honors while playing along side PGA Tour members Mike Weir and Dean Wilson. Sutterfield has worked with renowned swing instructors Mike Malaksa, Jim McLean, Adam Schriber,  Jim Flick, Doug Roberts and Mike Smith. He has also built working relationships with renowned sports pshcologists Bob Rotella, Keith Henschen and Neale Smith.
