Lexi Brown is in her fourth season as head coach of Utah Tech women’s soccer in 2026. In 2025, Brown led UT to a third-place finish in the WAC and its fourth-straight WAC Tournament appearance with an 8-7-5 record and 4-4-2 mark in conference play. The Trailblazers made their first Division I conference tournament semifinal as the the No. 3 seed. Under Brown, forward Jocelyn Wright was named WAC Freshman of the Year and the Trailblazers earned eight All-WAC honors. Abby Olsen, Kyah Le and Lacy Fox were selected to the All-WAC First Team, while Wright and Bre Koscielski made the All-WAC Second Team. Olsen, Wright and Ava Talaeai were named to the All-WAC Freshman Team. Utah Tech set DI single-season team records in goals (38), assists (37), points (113), shots (291), and shots on goal (138). Among all-time program single-season records, the 2025 team ranks tied for second in assists (37), sixth in points (113) and seventh in goals (38). Brown led the Trailblazers to a third-straight WAC Tournament appearance with a record of 5-7-5 overall and a mark of 2-4-1 in WAC games in 2024. Utah Tech opened Brown’s second season as head coach undefeated through the first five matches (3-0-2). The Trailblazer defense was much improved allowing 12 fewer goals than the previous season and posting three shutouts. UT took down rival Southern Utah 4-0 on the road to earn its spot in the 2024 WAC Tournament. The team had four Trailblazers recognized by the WAC in its postseason awards: Gracie Knutzen and Lacy Fox were named Second Team All-WAC and Adele Faller and Bre Koscielski made the All-WAC Freshman Team. Brown completed her first season at the helm of Trailblazer women’s soccer in 2023, coaching the team to an 8-7-5 record that included a trip to the 2023 WAC Women’s Soccer Tournament. After winning the season opener against South Dakota, 3-1, Utah Tech finished with two or more goals scored in nine matches and improved its scoring output by six goals when compared to the prior year. The team also had six players recognized by the WAC in its postseason awards: Gracie Knutzen and Brynlee Rider were All-WAC Second Team selections while Ella Rusick was named to the All-WAC Freshman team; Michelle Rodriguez, Emily Garbett and Tessa Thornton all received votes. Brown was named head coach of Utah Tech Women's Soccer on June 26, 2023, coming to St. George after spending the previous five seasons as an assistant women’s soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Gonzaga University. She joined the staff at Gonzaga ahead of the 2018 season and was part of some of the most successful years in program history. In just her first season, she helped a squad that set single-season program records in goals scored, assists, points and shots. The team posted its third-consecutive double-digit victory season in her second year, tying the program record with 12 wins while earning votes in the national polls. In the 2020-21 season, the Bulldog coaching staff was named the West Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches College Services, and this paved the way for a historic year in the fall of 2022, when the program re-set several program records. With a 15-5 record, Gonzaga set new program-best marks for goals (47), assists (39), total points (131), total shots (387) and goals per game (2.35) while being ranked as high as No. 16 in the nation. During her final year in Spokane, Brown helped lead the Bulldog women’s soccer program to a 10-3-5 overall record, while leading the West Coast Conference in goals scored (37) and ranking third with just 0.95 goals allowed per game. Prior to her time at Gonzaga, Brown spent two seasons on the women’s soccer coaching staff at her alma mater, Utah Valley. In her first season as an assistant coach at Utah Valley in 2015, Brown helped the Wolverines to their most successful season in school history. The team won a school-record 14 matches, went unbeaten (9-0-1) at home, won the WAC Tournament championship and made its first-ever appearance at the NCAA Tournament. UVU would win another 10 games during her second season on staff, including a 2-0 victory over New Mexico State in the first round of the WAC tournament. Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Brown spent four seasons playing for the Wolverines, registering seven goals and eight assists across a school-record 75 starts and 80 total appearances. A two-time all-conference honoree, she was named first team all-WAC and the WAC’s Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Utah Valley defense to 13 wins and a school-record nine shutouts in her senior season. With three academic all-conference honors, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Outdoor Recreation in 2015.   Year Win Loss Tie Conf. Record Conf. Nick Vorberg

The 2026 season will be Nick Vorberg's sixth as an assistant coach for Utah Tech men's soccer. He also assisted the women's soccer program in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, Vorberg guided Luca Campoli to WAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors in his freshman season. With four shutouts, including two in conference play, Utah Tech earned its best-ever finish in the WAC. UT tied for second with a 3-1-3 conference mark, 4-7-6 overall, and made its third straight WAC Tournament appearance and first-ever semifinals appearance after receiving a first-round bye. Campoli was also named to the All-WAC First Team and WAC All-Freshman Team. In 2024, Vorberg mentored goalkeeper Stockton Short to a tie for the most saves in the country, setting the Utah Tech single-season record with 105 stops. Short also earned WAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors on Oct. 14 after a shutout at San José State (10/10) with five saves and allowing just one goal on a penalty and putting up a career-best 11 saves, the most single-game saves by a Trailblazer in the DI era, at Seattle U (10/13). On the women’s side, GK Brianna Frey tied for the Utah Tech record for career saves with 167. Frey also logged a single-season career-best 1.41 goals-against average and .791 save percentage. Vorberg came to Utah Tech after serving in various positions with Marquette University’s men and women’s soccer teams since 2012, having served as a full-time assistant coach with the women's soccer program for four seasons.  His primary duties at Marquette included training and mentoring the MU goalkeepers in addition to camp instruction. Vorberg helped Marquette’s women’s team to Big East Regular Season and Tournament Championship titles. He also helped the men’s soccer team to Big East regular season and tournament championships as well as two NCAA appearances.  A Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) standout goalkeeper with the Milwaukee Wave, he garnered the league's goalkeeper of the year award following the 2009-10 and 2012-13 seasons, respectively and ranks second on the Wave's all-time list in wins. He helped the Wave to three MISL Championships in 2005 and back-to-back seasons of 2011 and 2012 and also served as an assistant coach with the Wave. In June 2013, Vorberg played with the U.S. Futsal national team at the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England, where the U.S. team won all three of its matches. In 2010, he was inducted into the Pacific University (Ore.) Athletic Hall of Fame. As one of the top goalkeepers in school history, Vorberg earned all-conference and all-region accolades in 1996 after guiding the Boxers to the Northwest Conference championship and a No. 20 national ranking. His 17 victories that season are a school record. He also held Pacific's single-season mark in saves upon graduating with an education degree and a minor in Japanese.

The team also had six players recognized by the WAC in its postseason awards: Gracie Knutzen and Brynlee Rider were All-WAC Second Team selections while Ella Rusick was named to the All-WAC Freshman team; Michelle Rodriguez, Emily Garbett and Tessa Thornton all received votes. Brown was announced as a member of the women’s soccer coaching staff on July 20, 2023. A native of Spokane, Washington, Brown played collegiately at Utah Valley and brings a wealth of experience to the program. Brown, who is married to head coach Lexi Brown, spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Eastern Washington. He aided in the development of several All-Big Sky selections at EWU, including Kelsee Winston, who earned second team all-Big Sky honors after making 116 saves during the 2021 season, and Maddie Morgan, who tallied five goals and four assists to earn Big Sky Co-Offensive MVP and Co-Golden Boot accolades last season. Prior to his time at Eastern Washington, Brown was a volunteer assistant coach with the women’s soccer program at Gonzaga. His duties included opponent scouting and assisting with the goalkeepers, and the Bulldog staff was named West Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches College Services program for the 2020-21 season. After playing his freshman season at the University of Massachusetts, Brown played two seasons at Utah Valley and was named to the WAC All-Academic team after his junior season. Brown’s experience goes well beyond the United States, as he played club soccer in Germany, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, and also played in the 6th tier of German Soccer Landesliga as a semi-professional. He also spent time coaching for Eastern Washington Surf, Super League and the Girls Academy, served as the Head Coach for Utah FC from 2015-17, and was the Director of Coaching for Inferno FC in Post Falls, Idaho in 2017. Brown graduated from Utah Valley with his Bachelor’s degree in Communication in 2016 before completing his Master’s degree at Gonzaga in 2020.
