Assistant Coach

Davis joins the Dominican University womens basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2015-2016 season.  Davis, a former NAIA Division I scholarship athlete at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma, has spent the last four years honing his skills as a coach serving as a student assistant coach at Bacone College and as a girls high school basketball AAU coach at the Baylor Youth Foundation.   During his time as a collegiate student-athlete, Davis helped the Bearcats at Lon Morris College to a conference championship with a 26-6 overall record and an appearance in the regional semifinals his freshman year.  Following his second year at LMC, Davis earned a scholarship to Bacone College where he spent two seasons as a member of the mens basketball team before joining the coaching staff for the 2013-2014 season.

Meyer comes to Dominican University as an assistant coach with the womens tennis team under first-year head coach Bob Almada for the 2015-2016 season.  Meyer, an assistant states attorney, is a member of two USTA doubles teams and competes in a park district singles league.

Cristina Lukas

Lukas has averaged better than 22 wins per season, posting a 178-140 overall record in eight seasons at the helm of the Dominican University softball program.  During her tenure, the Stars have rewritten the Dominican University softball record book, posting program records for wins in a season (30, 2009), batting average (.361, 2010), slugging percentage (.552, 2010), on-base percentage (.415, 2009), runs scored (313, 2009), runs batted in (270, 2009), total bases (616, 2010), doubles (84, 2010) and home runs (43, 2009) at the plate in addition to team fielding percentage (.954, 2012), team earned run average (2.53, 2013) and batters struck out (315, 2013). Individually, Lukas has recruited and coached nine NFCA All-Region athletes including Sarah Budz who became the programs first NFCA All-American Selection in 2011 and was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Player of the Year.  In 2013, under Lukass tutelage, Emily Mahoney became the first pitcher to garner all-region honors at Dominican University after claiming the NACC Pitcher of the Year award, smashing the program record for strikeouts with 251 strikeouts on the season. Lukas has guided the Stars to the NACC tournament in each of the last six seasons including appearances in the NACC Tournament championship round in 2009 and 2012. Lukas came to Dominican University with coaching experience at the club, high school and collegiate level. Most recently, Lukas served as an assistant coach at Ball State University. As a member of the Cardinals' coaching staff from 2004-2006, Lukas was largely responsible for the development of the pitching staff. In 2005, Lukas helped the staff to a 2.37 conference earned run average, the best by a Ball State pitching staff in four seasons. In her second season, one of Lukas' pitchers was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Conference Second Team, the first pitcher to receive an all-conference award since 2002. Lukas has also made stops at the University of New Haven in Connecticut and Quinnipiac University. As the head coach at New Haven from 2000 to 2003, Lukas helped build a program that struggled through an eight-win season the year before to a team that eventually posted 26 wins in her final season with team. From 2000 to 2003, Lukas helped the Chargers' pitching staff lower the team ERA from 2.19 her first year to 1.19 in her final season. In her first season as pitching coach at Quinnipiac, three of her pitchers ranked among the top 4 in the conference in earned run average. A 1995 graduate of SUNY New Paltz, Lukas led all Division III pitchers during her junior season with 232 strikeouts, averaging 7.7 strikeouts per game with 19 wins. Her efforts that season earned her all-region and all-state honors. She was named the SUNY New Paltz team MVP two times and named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference Team during her junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Lukas received the Carol Eckman Award for Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year at SUNY New Paltz.
