Heather Moore
Head Coach
Moore enters her fourth season leading the Earlham College women's field hockey program in 2016. Moore oversees all aspects of the program including, but not limited to the following: recruiting prospective student-athletes, scouting of opponents, team travel arrangements, practice planning, skill instruction, scheduling of home and away games, film exchange through Hudl, alumni relations, budget management, ordering of equipment, and fundraising. Moore led the Quakers to their best finish since the 2009 season in 2015, along with engineering Earlham's first win over Wooster since 1993. In the contest, the Quakers fell behind 2-0, but a hat trick from junior Megan Hut gave Earlham a double overtime victory. Hut was named First Team All-Region for the Great Lakes by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Hut, along with senior Sam Bielanski, were named All-North Coast Athletic Conference. As of Aug. 2015, Moore serves the Vice Chair of the NCAC women's field hockey coaches. She assists the Chair with conference business while also taking minutes at all NCAC coaches' meetings. Moore came to Earlham after serving as an assistant coach at Colgate University from 2010-13. Moore aided the Raiders to 15 victories during her stint in Hamilton, N.Y. Prior to her experience at Colgate, Moore was an assistant field hockey and lacrosse coach at SUNY-Oneonta for two years. The Red Dragons won 14 matches and went an even 6-6 in the State University of New York Athletics Conference (SUNYAC). Moore worked with the U.S. Field Hockey Association since 2005 as an assistant and head coach serving the Binghamton, N.Y. area. She was a regional futures selector from 2013-14. Moore is a Level II certified coach through US Field Hockey. A 2008 graduate of Colgate with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Moore was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey for the Raiders. The New York native was a defender during her career and she was All-Patriot League First Team performer in 2007, while earning a spot on the all-tournament team. She was also on the Mideast Region Second Team as a senior. As a junior, Moore was a member of the all-conference second team. She led the Raiders with five assists as a sophomore. Moore and her husband Jeremy live in Richmond with their daughter Avery.
