East Los Angeles College Women's Basketball

Turner has taken the helm of the Lady Huskies program. Coach Turner is working hard to capture discipline, work ethic, and pride to the Lady Huskies program. Last year Coach Turner led the womens team through a 24-10 campaign, but gained a great deal of experience and mad an historic playoff run that ended in the State Championship game. Under Coach Turners leadership the Lady Huskies have made three Elite Eight appearances, two Final Four and one trip in 2016 to the State Final. Coach Turners 2015 team obtained the best record in ELACs athletic history 29-4; reaching the State Final Four. Coach Bruce Turner is really proud of the self-esteem developed after articulating with the young ladies during their two years as a student-athlete.  Womens basketball has a 92% transfer rate since 2006.  Through consistent mentoring and coaching minority athletes have made education a priority and love to express their athletic ability through pressure defense  and fast break style  designed by Coach Turner. Coach Turner obtained a bachelors and masters degree from California State University, Los Angles. Bruce has put his degrees to good use, he has taught in the public school system for the past 23 years. Turner has coached at the university level working as the lead CSULA Mens Basketball program from 1991-1996. He also worked with the girls, basketball teams throughout southern California the past 22 years. Finally, if you want to learn the game and transfer to a university program;  Coach Turner is the type of leader need.  He takes you where you are and through hard work, youll become an excellent fundamental student-athlete.
