Anji Weissenfluh

Head Coach

Weissenfluh has posted 12 seasons of 20+ wins. She has guided the Mountaineers to eight appearances in the NAIA Division II Womens Basketball National Championships, including two quartefinal appearances in 2012 and 2013.    During her tenure at EOU, the Mountaineers have either shared or won outright seven Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) regular season titles and won two conference tournament championships.   On February 25, 2014, Weissenfluh won her 300th-career game as a Mountaineer after defeating Northwest Christian, 80-70. After guiding the Mountaineers to a perfect conference season in 2012-13, the Mountaineers grew the winning streak to a CCC-best 29 games during the 2013-14 season.   During the 2012-13 campaign, Weissenfluh led the Mountaineers to their best season in program history with a 33-3 overall record, inlcuding a perfect 18-0 record in conference play - the first team in CCC history to accomplish the feat.   Weissenfluhs 200th-career victory came on February 26, 2010 when EOU defeated Corban, 80-71.    Weissenfluh led the Mountaineers to their first NAIA Division II Womens Basketball National Championship victory during the 2007-08 season with a 52-49 triumph over Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.).   On January 20, 2006, Weissenfluh became the first head coach in EOU Womens Basketball history to earn her 100th-career victory, as the Mountaineers took down Concordia (Ore.), 72-37.    In addition to Weissenfluh's individual success, there have also been great stories regarding student-athletes in the women's basketball program. Her teams have produced 10 NAIA All-Americans, one NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, four CCC Player of the Year honorees, and 23 all-conference selections.   Weissenfluh is the all-time winningest coach in EOU history with an overall record of 347-137 for a winning percentage of .717.   Weissenfluh and her teams have put a huge emphasis on a variety of community outreach projects. Some of those projects include the 12-Hour Drug Free Relay, the Fire and Safety Fair and Shelter from the Storm.   During her time as a student at EOU, Weissenfluh was a four-year starter for the Mountaineer women's basketball team and was an all-conference selection. Weissenfluh holds the school record for steals (227) after four seasons on the hardwood. Upon completion of her eligibility, she became the head softball coach at EOU.    As the schools first softball coach, Weissenfluh led the Mountaineers to over 250 victories in 11 seasons. During that time frame, Weissenfluh was named Coach of the Year on five separate occasions. In 1999, her squad finished fourth in the nation followed by a fifth-place finish in 2000.   Before taking over as the EOU women's hoops coach, Weissenfluh spent three years as the head girls basketball coach at Union High School and two as an assistant at EOU.   Weissenfluh graduated from EOU in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health.
