Mark Wilson
Head Coach
Wilson was appointed head coach, Aug. 1, 2012, after serving as interim head coach during the 2011-12 season. Prior to taking the head job, Wilson spent two seasons as an assistant to former head coach Dan DeHass. He is the seventh head coach in men's program history, and the 13th women's coach all-time. Wilson's vast experience in competitive swimming has been of benefit to the program. The Philadelphia-area native is helping the Blue Jays transition from the Middle Atlantic Conference to the Landmark Conference in 2014-15. COACHING THE MEN In 2013-14, the Elizabethtown men won a pair of dual meets and put freshman Kieran Koehler into the A Final of the 100-yard breaststroke, and the B Final of the 200-yard breaststroke at the MAC Championships. Koehler achieved the program's two best individual finishes at the meet, taking seventh in the 100 breast and 11th in the 200. Frank Capria finished 12th in the 1650 free at MACs and Michael Rentschler advanced to the B Final in the 200 butterfly, as the Blue Jays finished 10th. The Blue Jays were ninth at MACs in 2013, with Ryan Hannon (200 back) and Ryan Supplee (200 breast) earning 10th-place finishes for Elizabethtown's best individual performances. Wilson's interim season, 2011-12, produced a seventh-place finish at the MAC Championships. The 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay and 400 free relay teams all finished sixth to claim All-MAC Second Team honors. Hannon qualified for the A Final in the 100 and 200 back, placing eighth in both events. Frank Capria was 10th in the 1650 free and the Blue Jays had swimmers advance out of preliminaries to the B Final in nine events. COACHING THE WOMEN The women's team collected five dual wins in 2013-14, its most in Wilson's three seasons. Junior sprinter Becki Lane set a new school record with a 24.74 in the 50-yard freestyle, and reached the podium at the MAC Championships with an All-MAC Second Team fifth-place finish in the 50 free. Lane also qualified for the A Final in the 100 free, finishing seventh. Kimberly Cosgrove (10th) and Megan Leppo (12th) scored points for the Blue Jays in the 1650 free and the team had B finalists in eight events, as Elizabethtown finished ninth in the team standings. At the 2013 MAC Championships, the 200 freestyle relay team of Elizabeth Finnegan, Lane, Rachel Engelhardt and Jennifer Malik scored a fifth-place finish to be named All-MAC Second Team. In 2011-12, Wilson's first year with the women's program, Abby Mitchell captured a fourth-place All-MAC Second Team finish in the 200 butterfly, and took seventh in the A Final of the 400 individual medley. The 200 free relay team took the final All-MAC Second Team spot by finishing sixth, while Cosgrove and Leppo finished in the top 10 of the 1650 free, leading to an eighth-place team finish for the women, their best under Wilson at MACs. Wilson is a 1984 graduate of Millersville University. He swam and played water polo as an undergraduate. Wilson is the Adult Learner Admissions Counselor at nearby Lancaster Bible College.
