Tim Crowley
Coach
Crowley enters his fifth season as the Head Womens Golf Coach and Assistant Mens Ice Hockey Coach at Elmira College in 2016-17. During the 2013-14 season, Crowley played a major role in leading Elmira College to its 10th ECAC West title, the most of any ECAC West member institution, past or present. His efforts working with the EC power-play paid off as the Soaring Eagles ranked fourth in the nation in power-player production, scoring goals on 28 percent of their opportunities. Power-play success continued in 2014-15 as EC had two players finish among the top-20 in the nation in power-play goals with Alexander Taulien 17 and Jarryd ten Vaanholt 16 ranking fourth and 18th, respectively. With a total of 12 goals, 23 assists, and a team-high 35 points that season, ten Vaanholt was crowned an ACHA Second-Team All-American, the 19th All-American in ECs storied history. In 2015-16, Crowley helped guide the Purple and Gold on a run that could rival the best in the nation at the time. During an 8-2 stretch from November 14, 2015 to January 9, 2016, Elmira knocked off No. 11 Hobart College, No. 6 Amherst College, and No. 3 Babson College in consecutive home games. It marked the first time since the 2010-11 season that the Soaring Eagles defeated three straight ranked opponents. The run ended with a victory over No.4/8 SUNY Geneseo, also at the MAC. During that span, ECs only two losses came to nationally-ranked foes, the latter in overtime at No. 8 Trinity (CT). Additionally, Crowley helped Carter Shinkaruk 16 finish the 2015-16 campaign ranked third in all of Division III mens ice hockey with a 0.79 goals per game average. Crowley, a 2009 graduate of the College at Brockport, was a four-year member of the Golden Eagles mens ice hockey team. He was a member of Brockports first playoff victory in school history. An assistant captain during his final year, Crowley was a SUNYAC All-Academic honoree. He also received the Bob Peterson Coaches Award as well as Brockports Seventh Man Award. After graduation Crowley was hired as the assistant mens ice hockey coach at SUNY Potsdam, where the team qualified for the SUNYAC postseason in both the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons. Crowley served as the primary recruiter for the program bringing in 23 recruits over a three-year period. During his time with the Bears, three players earned All-SUNYAC recognition and three members were named to the All-Rookie team. Along with his coaching experience, Crowley leads by example off the ice, as he helped find the Bears Stick It to Cancer and Hockey Day in Potsdam charities. While at Potsdam he assisted in Bears Back to Basics free community hockey clinics that ran once a month.
