Jarvis begins her first season as the volunteer assistant cross country coach for Nick Polk's staff for the 2015-16 year. Jarvis arrives from West Virginia University after a standout career as a member of the Mountaineers' cross country and track and field programs. At West Virginia, Jarvis was a multi All-Big East and All-Big 12 Academic recipeint as well as a member of the Garrett Ford Honor Roll for eight semesters. She was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and served as a volunteer coach at the West Virginia Flyers Track Club and the Wapiti Running Club. A native of Clendenin, W. Va., Jarvis graduated with a degree in exercise science and sport exercise science psychology in 2014 and is currently attending the Elon University School of Law. Elliston Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Twitter: eu_xctf The 2016-17 season is Mark Elliston's 11th season at the helm of the Elon University womens track and field program and his 28th year as a head coach at the NCAA Division I and II levels. In the past 10 years under Ellistons leadership, the Phoenix track and field team has won consecutive Colonial Athletic Association championships, had numerous CAA and Southern Conference accomplishments, while beginning to gain both regional and national recognition as well. Virtually every Phoenix indoor and outdoor track and field record has been broken during Ellistons tenure at Elon.   Elliston by the numbers at Elon 19 NCAA East Preliminary/regional qualifiers 139 All-Conference Indoor and Outdoor Performers 37 Individual conference champions Two CAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships One-SoCon Outdoor Field Performer of the Year Three top-three SoCon team finishes 50 SoCon All-Freshman Performers Two-time CAA Women's Coach of the Year (2015, 2016) Two-time SoCon Womens Outdoor Coach or the Year (2010, 2011) Six-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) In 2015-16, Elliston helped the Phoenix defend its CAA Outdoor Track and Field title as Elon racked up a program-record 193 points at the league meet. It was the most that a team had scored at the meet since 2005. Overall, Elon had four individual conference championships and both the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams earn CAA titles. Sydney Griffin was named the CAA Most Outstanding Performer of the Meet as well as one of 15 athletes that received All-CAA honors. Four the third straight year, Elliston guided a program-best five athletes to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary round in Jacksonville, Fla.  During the 2014-15 season in Elon's first season in the Colonial Athletic Association, Elliston led the maroon and gold to its first-ever conference team title at the CAA Outdoor Championships. The feat was also Elon University's first team title in its new league as the Phoenix posted 150 points to take the title. Elon had 11 athletes earn All-CAA honors and five members of the squad win six individual conference titles with sophomore Kimberly Johansen standing out as the CAA Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet. Elliston and the Phoenix then tied its program-record with five athletes qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminaries. For his efforts, Elliston was named the CAA Women's Coach of the Year by his peers. In 2013-14, Elliston had 26 athletes earn All-Southern Conference honors between indoor and outdoor competition as well as eight league champions overall. 15 new school-records were also set during the indoor and outdoor seasons. The Phoenix squad tied its highest finish at the SoCon Outdoor Championships and had a program-high six league champions. Elon then had a program-best five athletes advance and compete at the NCAA East Preliminaries. The 2010-11 season was the most successful to date for Elon, as the track and field team broke 22 school records over the course of the indoor and outdoor seasons. In addition to the school records, Elon student-athletes brought home three SoCon championships, 24 all-conference honors and six all-freshman recognitions. For the first time in the history of the program, a Phoenix athlete (senior Veronica Day) was recognized as the SoCon Womens Outdoor Field Performer of the Year, wining the triple Jump (41 5.75) and placing second in the long jump (194.75). Elons strong showing at both the indoor and outdoor SoCon Championships earned the Phoenix its best finish ever, placing fourth at SoCon Indoors and third in the SoCon Outdoor meet (missing second by a mere seven points). For his efforts, Elliston was named the 2011 Southern Conference Womens Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for the second-consecutive season. During the past six seasons (2007-12), the Phoenix has seen 78 athletes earn all-conference accolades, 26 athletes earn the all-freshman honors. Each of those years the entire track and field program has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors with a team GPA of more than a 3.19 each semester.   Prior to coming to Elon, Elliston served as the indoor and outdoor track and field coach for both the mens and womens programs at Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pa. Elliston coached seven Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship teams and 30 NCAA D-II All-Americans, including three national champions. He also served as the Bald Eagles head mens and womens cross country coach for 11 years, guiding a pair of athletes to All-America status. The USTCA honored 18 Lock Haven athletes with individual academic accolades while the USCCCA recognized 13 Eagles during Ellistons tenure.   Elliston earned his bachelors degree in health and physical education at Oklahoma Baptist University in 1986. The Mcloud, Okla., native became a three-time NAIA track and field All-American while at Oklahoma Baptist, twice in the high jump (1983 and 1986). In 1986, when he won the national championship in the decathlon, while setting a national record in the high jump. Elliston was also inducted into Oklahoma Baptist Universitys Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.   Prior to coaching at Lock Haven, Elliston earned his masters degree at The Citadel where he was the assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs for two years. Elliston and his wife, Kelly, have two sons, Luke and Logan. Elliston is a USTAF Level II Certified Coach (sprints, jumps, hurdles, relays).

Polk enters his third year as the Elon University head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach after being named to the position on August 13, 2014. During year two under Polk's watch in 2015, Elon again had an individual win the CAA Men's Cross Country Championship with Nick Ciolkowski earning medalist honors. He also saw Coralea Geraniotis honored as the league's Rookie of the Year on the women's side and led the Phoenix female harriers to their highest finish ever at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships at seventh overall. During the track and field season, Polk had four harriers receive All-CAA honors as the Phoenix defended its league championship by scoring 193 points, the most ever by the program at a championship meet. He also helped Kimberly Johansen and Tereza Novotna to their second straight trip to the NCAA East Preliminaries in the 1,500-meters and the 3,000-meter steeplechase, respectively. Under Polk's watch, the Phoenix men's and women's programs achieved new heights during its first season in the Colonial Athletic Association. The maroon and gold women finished second overall at the league cross country championships while the men had its highest Division I finish at a conference meet with a third place standing. In 2014, Polk also guided Luis Vargas to the finest season of any Elon cross country runner in program history. Vargas became the program's first-ever All-American after finishing in the top-25 at the NCAA Championships. Prior to the NCAA Championship meet, Vargas was undefeated in his six races and earned the CAA Men's Cross Country Championship, the league's Cross Country Athlete of the Year and the NCAA Southeast Region Athlete of the Year. On the women's side, Polk aided the Phoenix to its highest finish ever at the NCAA Southeast Regionals with a eighth-place standing. Tereza Novotna became the first Elon female to receive All-Region accolades at that meet. The Phoenix also had four members received All-CAA honors in cross country with Novotna, Jenny Gallagher, Elyse Bierut and Kimberly Johansen. A three-time All-American runner and national champion at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., Polk spent three seasons (2011-13) as the assistant cross country and track and field coach at GVSU. During his tenure at Grand Valley, Polk helped 43 runners earn All-American accolades and set numerous NCAA and school records.   Polk guided the GVSU womens cross country team to back-to-back national championships at the Division II level in 2012 and 2013, in addition to leading the Lakers womens indoor and outdoor track and field teams to national titles in 2012. Polk helped Rachel Patterson set the NCAA meet record in the 5,000-meter event with a time of 16:07.28, in addition to guiding the distance medley relay team to an NCAA record time of 11:23.35. Polk also helped Betsy Graney record a time of 9:53.85 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase an NCAA Division II record.   Prior to returning to his alma mater as an assistant coach, Polk ran professionally at ZAP Fitness from 2009 to 2010 in addition to serving as a graduate assistant for the John Carroll University track and field team in 2011. Polk also worked in various capacities for Nike and USA Track & Field.   As an athlete at GVSU, Polk was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American, the lead off leg for the National Championships Distance Medley Relay team in 2008, and currently holds the GVSU school records in the 1,500 and 10,000 meters.   Polk is a USA Track & Field Level II Certified coach. He earned a bachelors degree in business economics from Grand Valley in 2008. Polk married the former Tauri Rothermel in June 2016 and they currently reside in Mebane.
