Rosene led Emmanuel into the NAIA National Tournament ranked the highest in schools history, #7 in the country. The Lions were triumphant in their first four games as well as knocking off the #1 seeded Cal State San Marcos in the Elite Eight. The Lions played in the National Championship game and while it was a tight game the whole way, they fell short by 5 points to Vanguard University. On the way to this title run several accolades were accomplished along the way: The Lions were back-to-back SSAC Eastern Division regular season champions. They had a 21 game win streak with a perfect record of 17-0 at home. Being #7 in the country is the highest ranking ever in Emmanuel Colleges history. Last but not least they were invited to the NAIA National Tournament for the 3 time in 4 years. TJ Rosene received the NAIA mens basketball Charles A. Krigel award. This is a national coaching award for the program that exhibits respect, civility, integrity, and fair play. Alongside Rosene, Michael Stanley grabbed a few more plaques for his record-breaking career at Emmanuel College. Michael was named to the 1 team NAIA All American team, 1 team all tournament team for both the conference tournament and national tournament, and lastly he was an SSAC All-Conference player for the second year in a row. Adrian Justice was named SSAC All-Conference player for the second year in a row as well. The biggest award that the Emmanuel College mens basketball program received this season was the NAIA National Sportsmanship Award. In 2012-2013: (28-5) This was the best regular season record in Emmanuel College history.  In pursuit of the best regular season record in Emmanuel history the Lions managed to stream out a 15 game winning streak. The Lions also received the highest ever ranking in the NAIA #9 in the country. While getting these accolades throughout the season the final regular season game against Lee University did not disappoint. The Lions beat the #2 ranked Lee University with a Luke Miller buzzard beater to seal the regular season co-championship with Lee University. The Lions made to the NAIA national tournament ranked #16. The Lions also racked up awards that included: Adrian Justice was an SSAC All-Conference player. Michael Stanley was SSAC All-Conference player, NCCAA All-American, and SSAC All-Tournament team. In 2011-2012: (21-16) In this 2011-2012 season Coach Rosene led the Lions into yet another 20 win season. This years Lions presented itself with six new freshmen onto the team with only two seniors in Tiek Fields and Graham Maxwell.  The Lions found the injury bug early on with point guard Michael Stanley heading out for the season with a knee injury. But the Lions were battle tested. Coach Rosene led the Lions with two top 25 wins over schools: Evangel and Pikeville University. In the NCCAA National Championship Coach Rosene and the Lions fell short in winning their second National Championship game, in the championship game, and became National Championship runner-up. In 2010-2011: (26-8) This year was another banner season for the Lions.  Rosene led the Lions to the schools first ever Southern States Athletic Conference Championship in any sport.  He also led Emmanuel to the NAIA National Tournament for only the second time in school history- the first ever appearance came in Rosenes first year at Emmanuel.  Rosene is particularly proud of the team not only for its on court accomplishments, but off the court as well.  The 2010-2011 Lions received the SSAC Sportsmanship Team of the Year Award.  Coach Rosene was named SSAC Coach of the Year and NCCAA South Regional Coach of the Year.  Rosenes first 4 year recruit to Emmanuel, Tedrick Hudson, eclipsed the 2,000 point mark and was named a 3 time All Conference Player of the Year all while carrying a 3.4 GPA.  Rosene also landed another Freshman of the Year in Michael Stanley.  The point guard who was a first team all-state player in Alabama led the team in minutes played.  Also for thesecond time in 4 years Rosene had a player named a National NAIA Champion of Character Recipient. This award was presented to Junior Graham Maxwell (1 of 4 in the NAIA).  Maxwell was also an All-Region player who carries a 3.3 GPA.  The Lions had 4 top 25 victories including an upset of #2 Mountain State. The Lions finished with a national ranking of #21 in the NAIA.           In 2009-2010: (21-11) This season produced the Lions first ever NAIA national ranking getting as high as #20.  The Lions were 20-5 at one point before losing their top 2 scores to injuries, one being a season -ending injury and the other a 6 game injury.  The Lions were in the top 4 in points per game, offensive field goal %, and Defensive field goal percentage in the SSAC.  Tedrick Hudson was named all-conference.           In 2008-2009: (25-10) This particular was a year to remember in Emmanuel College history.  The Lions brought home the NCCAA National Championship.  This was the first national championship in any sport in school history.  The Lions got better as the year went on.  They won 12 of their last 14 games in route to the Championship.  Rosene was named NCCAA National Coach of the Year, South Regional Coach of the Year, and SSAC Coach of the Year.  The lions lead the SSAC in points per game.  Tedrick Hudson and Ben Brimm were SSAC All-Conference players with Hudson being named an NAIA All-American honorable mention.          In 2007-2008: (16-17) Coach Rosenes first season at Emmanuel was a challenging, but rewarding year.   Rosene took over the helm late in the summer and brought in 12 new players.  Being a young team, they grew throughout the year before getting hot in the conference tournament and landing the schools first ever NAIA national tournament bid.   Ray Raines was named to the SSAC All-Conference team.  Two Lions were named to the All-Freshman team with Tedrick Hudson being named Freshman of the Year.  Micah Hayes was 1 of 4 to receive NAIA National Champion of Character, award in the entire NAIA.           Coaching Reinhardt University:  Rosene got his first head college coaching job at the age of 24.  He led the Reinhardt University Womens program to new heights before taking over the mens program for two years.  In both the second and third year as the Womens head coach he lead the program to back to back 20 win seasons for the first time in school history.  Both were school records for wins.  He was named Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Coach of the Year in 2004.  He had 4 All Conference players and 2 Conference Freshman of the year (1 Men and 1 Women).  He also coached the NAIAs leading scorer in Brandon Jennings.  Rosene left his alma mater in 2007 to take over at Emmanuel College.

Graham Maxwell

Assistant Coach

Maxwell is entering in his second year of being an assistant coach at Emmanuel College. Graham played at Emmanuel for 4 years from 2008-2012. His freshman year he was apart of the 2009 NCCAA National Championship team as well as the Conference Tournament championship team in 2012 his junior season. Graham has the most wins recorded as an athlete in Emmanuel College history during his time here at Emmanuel. In Maxwell's' junior season he was a recipient of the NAIA character award and scholarship. Ending his senior year he won the Bill White student athlete of the year award for Emmanuel College. Graham will have his hands in all aspects of this years' basketball program, yet his primary role and contribution will come in the Player Development department. After having a full year of coaching under his belt Maxwell is really looking to grow the guys on the team to be the best they can be physically and mentally.
