Kelly Burdeau
Head Coach
Entering her seventh season at Erskine, Burdeau has been building the program, reaching the Conference Carolinas quarterfinals in the 2021 season. Her teams have also racked up individual and team honors during her tenure with the Flying Fleet. In two seasons, Burdeau’s team has tallied the highest GPA at Erskine in that academic year, both teams earning AVCA Academic awards. In addition to their success in the classroom, the Fleet won the NCCAA South Regional Championship in 2020 and Burdeau has coached two all-conference performers and one NCCAA All-American. Prior to Erskine, from 2015-2019, Burdeau served as the head coach at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. While in Arkansas, her teams set school records in conference wins, attack percentage, digs and digs per set. She also had four players named to all-conference teams and 22 players named Academic all-conference. From 2013-2015, Burdeau spent two seasons as the head coach at Brevard College. Having inherited a team that was 1-53 in South Atlantic Conference play in the previous three years, Burdeau guided the Tornados to win nine games in her two seasons. Her 2015 team was a finalist for the NCAA Division II Award for Excellence for its commitment to fighting ovarian cancer and involvement with the Meme Brown Fight Like a Girl Scholarship Fund. Burdeau played at Catawba College from 2001-2004, where her teams won a SAC Tournament Championship in 2001 and a regular season title in 2002. She graduated from Catawba in 2004 with a B.A. in Mathematics and a double-minor in Education and Spanish. In 2010, she graduated from Liberty University with a Master's in Educational Administration/Supervision. Outside of Volleyball, Burdeau also helps with Sports Information and Student Academic Support.
