Rob Nucilli
Head Coach
Nucilli is entering his third season as the mens cross country coach at Fairmont State after being named head coach on March 19, 2014. Last season, the Falcons placed seventh at the annual MEC Championship meet, with Andrew Shade leading the way for FSU with a 22nd place finish. In his first season with the Falcons in 2014, Nucilli coached Nate King to second team All-MEC honors after the senior turned in a 15th-place finish during the MEC Championships at Pipestem State Park. Nucilli was a member of the WVIAC Championship team at Fairmont State during the 1984 season, placing 11th in the conference championship race and competing at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, Wisc. He graduated from Fairmont State in 1988 with a bachelors degree in education and has coached cross country and track at the middle and high school levels. Coaching cross country at my alma mater is a dream of mine, Nucilli said. I'm confident that we can regain the championship form and return FSU cross country to the top of the Mountain East Conference and compete on a national level. Each of Nucillis children have competed in college athletics: Ryleigh was on the cross country team at Washington & Lee University; Brooks played soccer at West Virginia University; and Ivey is a member of the women's soccer team at the University of Charleston.
