Feather River College Women's Softball

Aragon has dedicated the last ten years of her life to the game of softball at the college level. She played four years at New Mexico Highlands University where she excelled as an offensive threat both with the bat and on the base paths. Meredith Aragon played a major role in building a program from the ground up at Luna Community College. Aragon was the head assistant for the teams inaugural year and then became the Head Coach for the Rough Riders for next four years. Aragon succeeded in building a team with a foundation of hard work and discipline. In 2013 she was an assistant coach for her alma mater New Mexico Highlands University. Aragon will now become the Head Softball Coach at Feather River College where she hopes to continue on with the winning tradition that is already in place. She hopes to add on to the success of the previous softball teams and ensure that Feather River produces Student-Athletes that can both move on to play softball at a higher level and contribute to society through hard work and discipline learned on and off the field. Aragon wants to show her athletes that academics will be with you forever and can take you far while athletics are not always going to be around but will help build a foundation in order to be successful in life and make a smooth transition into adulthood and the real world. Coach Aragon obtained her bachelors degree in Human Performance and Sport and her Masters in Exercise Science from New Mexico Highlands University. She is married to Marco Aragon from Las Vegas New Mexico and has a son, Marco Aragon Jr. who will be two years old in September of 2013. Meredith has been a productive member of the Las Vegas community and has always given back by teaching softball lessons and working at a local early childhood center for education. Aragon has also dedicated her time to Fellowship of Christian Athletes softball ministry and has made trips to Honduras to camp young men and women in fast pitch softball. Meredith has played for the FCA-All star team where she has been joined by Olympians and professionals in the sport to help God and Country in honoring and playing against the wounded warrior amputee softball team. She also made a trip to Curacao on the USA international team.

Aragon is entering his second season with the Feather River College Golden Eagles where he works with pitchers, catchers and hitters.  Aragon will be starting his 14 th season overall as an assistant coach, getting his start in New Mexico coaching high school baseball for 6 seasons beginning  in Las Vegas, NM and ending in  Albuquerque, NM.  After coaching baseball at the high school level Aragon was given a chance to work primarily with catchers for the Luna Community College baseball team for 3 seasons.  Baseball is a sport that Aragon loves to teach and coach but when he was hired as the head assistant softball coach at Luna Community College in Las Vegas, NM his passion for coaching softball began.  He spent 3 seasons with Luna CC softball and is currently proud to be a Golden Eagle at FRC. Aragon is married to Meredith Aragon and they have a handsome son whose name is Marco Virgil James Aragon.  A fun family weekend for the Aragons would be a fishing trip to one of the many amazing lakes located within minutes of Feather  River College.  If the family is not fishing they are most likely going to be found on or around a softball field, either playing slow pitch softball or watching and evaluating fast pitch talent  in search of future Golden Eagles. Coach Marco has received his Associates degree in Sports Performance from Luna Community College and is currently pursuing his bachelors degree in History.
