Daniel Ownbey
Assistant Coach
Ownbey came to Ferrum from the NCAA Div. II University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he was a four-time All-American and a two-time national champion. He placed third in the nation as a freshman in 2012, was eighth as a sophomore in 2013, then climbed to the top of the podium in 2014, and repeated his national title in 2015. He was named Wrestler of the Year at the Midwest Regional in 2015. Ownbey started the Daniel Ownbey Champions Clinic in Ashville, North Carolina, a fundraiser for the Sgt. Matthew Baynard Foundation, which provides children with sports equipment. The organization is endorsed by Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton and Olympic wrestler/coach Dan Gable. Ownbey has also served at various wrestling camps and clinics throughout the east coast including Rico Wrestling Camps in Georgia, the OT Brave Wrestling Camp and the Tallassee High School Camp in Alabama.Daniel Ownbey

Nate Yetzer
Assistant Coach
Yetzer came to Ferrum from Blacksburg, Virginia, where he served six years as an assistant coach for the Virginia Tech wrestling program. Yetzer worked under Head Coach Kevin Dresser, helping to coordinate daily training sessions and assisting with office administration. He helped the Hokies to a #11 finish at the 2012 NCAA Division I Tournament. The Hokies had two All-Americans, six NCAA qualifiers and three ACC champions in 2012. Yetzer also assisted with recruitment and visitations of potential Virginia Tech student-athletes, fundraising activities, travel coordination and monitoring academic progress of student-athletes. Prior to joining the Hokies' staff, Yetzer served as assistant coach one year at Binghamton University in Vestal, New York. In that role, he helped with all facets of the Bearcats' NCAA Division I wrestling program. Yetzer served four years (2000-04) as a clinician at the Bruce Baumgartner World-Class Wrestling Camps in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. He also served as an assistant wrestling coach four years (2002-04, 2006) for the Ohio Junior National Team. Yetzer wrestled for NCAA Division I Edinboro University from 2001-05. He won Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference titles in 2004 and 2005, and earned the Eastern Wrestling League title in 2004. Yetzer was a four-time NCAA Division I Tournament qualifier, and capped his 2004 season with an All-American finish when he placed 8th in the 174-pound weight class. A Madison High School graduate, Yetzer was an Ohio High School Athletic Association state finalist in 1999 and 2000, winning a state title in 2000. He went on to a National High School Coaches Association (NHCAA) national runner-up finish in 2000, and earned five Freestyle and Greco-Roman All-America finishes. Yetzer earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Edinboro in 2005. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Health Promotions from Virginia Tech in 2012. Levi Englman '24
Assistant Coach
Levi Englman joined the Ferrum Athletics staff as Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach in December 2023. Englman wrestled five years for the Panthers from 2019-23, and is third on the all-time wins list with 102 career victories and 20 pins. A two-time NCAA qualifier for Ferrum, Englman earned All-America in 2019 and 2020, and was at one point during his career ranked #1 in the nation among NCAA Division III wrestlers. Englman posted a seventh-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, hosted by Ferrum, closing the season with a 33-8 record and nine pins. Englman won three collegiate tournaments, including two Southeast Wrestling Conference titles and the 2019 Southeast Regional title. He was a two-time Virginia High School League state champion for Colonial Forge High School under legendary Coach Bill Swink..

Rayshawn Dixon '25
Assistant Coach
Rayshawn Dixon joined Ferrum's wrestling coaching staff as Assistant Coach in October 2025, following a stellar career on the mat. Dixon completed an incredible run for the Panthers in 2005, earning his third trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament and his second All-America finish. He closed out his career with a stellar 133-30 record, including 37 pins. Dixon's 133 victories is a school record for career wins. He won a school record 13 individual tournament titles, including NCAA Regional championships in 2024 and 2025, and holds Ferrum's school record for Old Dominion Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors in all sports with 10. Dixon earned All-America in 2024 when he placed fifth at the NCAA Division III National Championships at 285 pounds. He earned All-America again in 2025 with his fourth-place finish at the NCAA Tournament. Dixon was also named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American Team in 2005. Dixon earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Human Performance with a minor in Coaching from Ferrum in May 2025.
