Jason Fiscina

Head Coach

Bio   Jason Fiscina was appointed as the head coach of the Five Towns College men’s soccer program on December 14th, 2018.  Fiscina was hired to build the program from the ground up to begin competition for the inaugural 2019 fall season. On August 17, 2020, Fiscina was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Purchasing and Ordering.  Since July 2024 he is currently serving as the Interim Athletic Director.  In this role he has oversaw the transition to USCAA Division 1 membership, has helped organized/facilitiate the new conference the NACIA and secured the school's first apparel contract through Metro Team Outfitters with Nike.  Internally Fiscina created Fader's Academic Honor Roll to honor student athletes who recieved a cumlative GPA over a 3.0 for the semsester along with the Spirit of Fader Award which is given to a Senior student-athlete who's contributions go beyond athletic competition. Over the past 6 years (5 Competitive Seasons didn't compete in 2020 due to Covid 19) Fiscina has built the men's soccer program into a national power making the USCAA National Tournament on 4 occasions along with winning 3 consecuitive HVIAC Regular Season Titles and winning the HVIAC Conference Tournament in 2021.  In 2021 it was an historic year for the men's soccer program, Fiscina led the Sound to 15-2 record and #1 ranking in the USCAA Coach's Poll securing the #1 seed at the National Tournament.  Five Towns made the national championshp game finishing as National Runner's up.  Fiscina was named USCAA National Coach of the Year.  During Fiscina's tenure his players have had great sucess both on and off the field.  17 players have been named USCAA All Americans, 22 players have been named All HVIAC, 9 players named All NACIA, 1 HVIAC Rookie of the year (Hector Ruiz 2022), 2 HVIAC Player of the Year (Angel Chavez 2021 & Steven Paguada 2022), along with 1 USCAA National Player of the Year (Steven Paguada 2021).  Fiscina was named the 2024 NACIA Coach Of The Year.  On 4 seperate occations, Fiscina's scquads have defeated the #1 ranked team in the USCAA National poll.  In the fall of 2024 in the team's first season competing as USCAA Divsion 1 insitution, Fiscina led the the program to a 12-6-4 record including a 2-1-1 record in NACIA conference play and the #3 ranking in the USCAA Coach's Poll.  Non-Conference results included wins overall several NCAA Division 3 institutions along with a 1-1 tie vs NCAA Division 2 insitution Chestunut Hill.  Five Towns secured the #3 seed in the conference tournament and in their Semi-Final Contest they defeated Berkeley NJ 2-1 to advance to the NACIA Final.  After falling in the NACIA Final, Five Towns recieved an at-large bid to the USCAA National Tournament as the #3 seed.  In their first pool game vs Manor College, Five Towns won 4-1 securing securing Fiscina's 50th career victory securing a spot in the USCAA National Semi-Finals.         In March 2024, the American Amputee Soccer Association named Fiscina the Men's National Team Head Coach for US Amputee Soccer.  Fiscina will be leading the team to the Gold Cup in Houndras along with preparing them for World Cup Qualifiers.  Fiscina has also worked at ID Camps for both Fordham University and Stony Brook University.  Lastly Fiscina serves as a tryout evaluator for Royal Sporting Long Island (youth) and evaluates for the New York Empire FC who is apart of the UPSL.     In the program’s first year in existence as a USCAA program and a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member, Fiscina led the Sound to a 9-4-1 (3-2-1 HVIAC) record.  Five Towns proved to be a team that could compete among the best. The Sound made it to the HVIAC semi-finals and were nationally ranked throughout the season, finishing 10th in the country; they also led the nation in goals per game with 5.21. Five Towns had four players named as USCAA Honorable Mention All-Americans; Robinson Munoz, William Rivera, Adrian Santos, and Adrian Wong. Munoz and Wong were also named as HVIAC All-Conference players. The team’s most notable performances of the season were upsets over two nationally ranked programs. On October 8th, Five Towns defeated #8 NHTI 3-1 (Santos-2, Wong-1). For the biggest win of the season, Five Towns took down #1 Berkeley NY, who would later be named national champions, by a score of 4-3 on October 23rd (Molina-1, Rivera-1, Santos-1, Wong-1). The Knights entered the contest undefeated in conference play without allowing a conference goal all season.  Fiscina's other colliegiate coaching experience came when he served as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach/Director of Operations at Molloy College from 2011-2015. In this position, he was responsible for recruiting, scouting, video operations, and practice plans. During his time with the Lions, he helped coach the team to the best regular-season record in school history in 2012-13 (18-10, 13-5 conference), along with two consecutive East Coast Conference semi-final appearances. Fiscina’s last recruiting class went on to win the program’s first ever ECC Championship in 2019. He has coached/recruited eight players who went on to become 1,000 point scorers. Fiscina coached three players who continued their basketball careers overseas and in the NBA G-League including John Petrucelli, Charlie Marquardt, and Jaylen Morris, who saw NBA time with the Milwaukee Bucks. After Molloy, Fiscina went on to coach at Friends Academy in Locust Valley, NY from 2016-2019.  At Friends Academy, he coached girls basketball (varsity assistant 2016-2017, varsity head (2017-2019)), boys soccer (jv assistant 2017), and boys lacrosse (2016-2019).  Prior to Molloy, Fiscina had coached middle school soccer at Plainview JFK Middle School and was a varsity assistant lacrosse coach at Plainedge High School from 2010-2011. He has also served as a club trainer for the Plainedge Soccer Club, Plainview Soccer Club, and the Rocco Morelli’s Rising Star Soccer Academy. Fiscina was a member of the Molloy College men’s soccer team from 2007-2008.  In 2008, he was a member of the ECC Championship team (first in program history); the team also clinched a berth in the NCAA Regionals. After playing for Molloy, Fiscina spent time playing for Long Island Juventus apart of the LISFL.   As a high school athlete at Plainedge, Fiscina was a member of the varsity lacrosse team and was a three-year varsity soccer player. He was 10th in the county for goals scored his junior year. He was named captain of the varsity team his senior year and was a United States Army Reserve Scholar Athlete.  His senior season, Plainedge made the Section 8 playoffs for the first time in six years. Fiscina was also an alternate on the Long Island Empire State Team. Fiscina earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood/Special Education and his Master’s Degree in Teaching Students with Disabilities from Molloy College. He also holds a USSF Coaching License. Fiscina is currently a Special Education teacher for the New York City Department of Education at JHS 194 in Whitestone, NY. He lives in East Northport with his wife Beth and their daughters Lauren and Madelyn.

Brendan Wells

Assistant Coach

Bio Brendan Wells is entering his fifth season as an assistant soccer coach overseeing game tactics, fitness and academic progress.  Since 2018, Wells has helped build the men's soccer program into a national power that made the USCAA National Tournament on four occasions, won three consecutive HVIAC Regular Season Championships (2021, 2022, 2023), one HVIAC Tournament Championship (2021) and one USCAA National Championship Runner-Up (2021). Aside from Five Towns, Wells serves as club trainer for the Massapequa Soccer Club training a variety of age levels.   At MacArthur High School, Wells was an All-Conference and All-County player and participated in the Exceptional Senior game. At SUNY Cortland, Wells was a three-year member of the men's soccer team and a member of the SUNYAC Championship team in 2008. After graduating from Cortland, Wells spent a season playing semi-professional soccer overseas in Rome, Italy. Wells earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics from SUNY Cortland and resides in Massapequa, New York with his wife Amanda and their son Hunter.

Ettore Morelli

Assistant Coach

Bio Ettore Morelli returns for a 3rd season as an Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach.  He primarily works with the goalkeepers, in-game tactics, and program development.  In the past 2 seasons Morelli has been apart of 2 HVIAC Regular Season Championships and 2 USCAA National Tournament appearancs.  Morelli attended Molloy College (now Molloy University) and was a member of the men's soccer team from 2004-08, and was a teammate of current Five Towns College head men's soccer coach, Jason Fiscina.  He currently hold's an American National Soccer Coaching Association D, C, & B licenses, along with a State, Regional, and National goalkeeing license.  Opponents had a tough time trying to find the back of the net when Morelli was between the pipes.  In his senior season, he was named the East Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year (2008), while he was tabbed the ECC Rookie of the Year in 2004.  In addition during his senior campaign, he was selected for the Molloy Student Government’s “Mr. Molloy” award.  He was named to an All-ECC Team three times in 2004, 2006 and 2008.  His 13 career shutouts are the most in program history, while his career goals-against average of 1.37 ranks second all-time.  Morelli also ranks second all-time in career save percentage (.787) and career saves (306). Morelli’s strong 2008 campaign helped the program earn its first-ever East Coast Conference Championship.  He was a member of the first-ever Molloy men’s soccer squad to play in the NCAA Division II National Tournament-the first such appearance for any of Molloy’s men’s athletic programs.  During 2008, he was ranked nationally in save percentage, goals-against average and saves per game.   His five shutouts are tied atop the record book for the best in a single season (2008), while his 0.80 goals-against average in 2008 and his .833 save percentage in 2007 are the second-best during a single campaign.  In an October 19, 2006 contest versus the University of Bridgeport, Morelli made 18 saves, which is the program record for an individual game. Morelli was one of the 2008 recipients of the East Coast Conference’s John Smillie Jr. Award.  This award was created to celebrate student-athletes who overcame personal or physical challenges and hardships to pursue their intercollegiate athletic careers.  He was strong in the classroom as well, earning East Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll praise in 2008. Morelli graduated from Molloy College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and was inducted into the college's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. He is currently a foreman for Tishman, an AECOM company.    Morelli and his wife, Alexa, reside in Merrick, NY, with their three children, Luciano, Cristiano and Rocco.

Mike Glancy

Assistant Coach

Bio Mike Glancy returns to Five Towns College for his second season with the Sound as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. In his inaugural year Glancy helped lead the Sound to a 3rd HVIAC Conference Championship and a 3rd USCAA National Tournament appearance.   Prior to Five Towns Glancy served as the interim Head Men's soccer coach at SUNY Maritime in the Fall of 2020, and led the team through the COVID pause and was eventually named the Head coach ahead of the 2021 campaign. As Head Coach Glancy had a record of 9-20-3   Before being named Head Coach at Maritime, Glancy served as an assistant coach for the program for 3 years. In his first two seasons as an assistant coach at Maritime, Glancy helped the Privateers reach the ECAC Tournament and the Skyline Conference Tournament in both years.. The team finished the 2018 season with 14 wins and the 2017 campaign with 11 wins including five victories against conference opponents. Following the season, the team had three First Team All-Conference selections, while Parker Gallt ’19 also earned All-Region Honors from both the United Soccer Coaches and the ECAC. In the 2017 season Maritime picked up 11 total wins with a 5-3-1 record in conference play and then in the 2018 season, Glancy helped Maritime finish 7-2-1 in Skyline Conference action and earn the #2 seed for playoffs. The following year the Privateers improved upon their playoff performance and ran the table as the #6 seed behind two overtime victories and a shoot-out win in the semifinals. Earning the program a Conference Championship and an NCAA D3 tournament appearance.   Glancy has nearly 20 years of soccer coaching experience, including two seasons as the head coach of Transit Tech High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. He also has been a coach and Board Member of the Deer Park Soccer Club in Suffolk County, as well as has worked with teams within  Massapequa Soccer Club and as a trainer with UST Academy on Long Island.    In addition to his soccer experience, Glancy currently serves as a Physical Education and Health teacher with the New York City Department of Education for the past 21 years. He has held positions at Susan B. Anthony Intermediate School, as well as Intermediate School 231 and Collaborative Arts Middle School 355. Throughout his professional career, he has also held a role in the Boys and Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich, and served 15 years as an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter in Deer Park on Long Island. The Long Island-native attended East Stroudsburg University in northeastern Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in Physical Education. He later went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Sports Management from nearby Adelphi University in the spring of 2008. Coach Glancy resides in Deer Park, NY with his wife Jennifer and sons Alexander and Nicholas.

Mike Topel

Assistant Coach

Bio Michael Topel returns to Five Towns College for his second season with the Sound as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. In his inaugural year Topel helped lead the Sound to a 3rd HVIAC Conference Championship and a 3rd USCAA National Tournament appearance.  Topel primarily works with individual player development along with assisting training session development. Topel was an assistant coach at Molloy College (now Molloy University) from 2009-2011 working with both the men's and women's soccer teams under Danny Longo.  Topel had a hand in all aspects of the program including creating in game strategy, fundraising, conditioning, training sessions, film evaluation and recruiting.    Topel attended Molloy College (now Molloy University) and was a member of the men's soccer team from 2005-08, and was a teammate of current Five Towns College head men's soccer coach, Jason Fiscina.  Topel was a 4 year starter in the midfield for the Lions along with being a 2 year captain.  Topel led the Lions to the programs first ever East Coast Conference Championshp in men's soccer (2008).  That team went on to make an appearnce in the NCAA East Regional.  Topel was a 4x All ECC Academic Honor Roll.  Topel also has international play experience playing in the Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament in Viareggio, Italy as a member of New York Stars (2007).  Topel also appeared in the Empire State Games as a member of the Long Island Region (2005).  After his time at Molloy, Topel went on to play for NY Polet SC in the Long Island Soccer Football League.   Aside from coaching at Molloy, Topel served as a soccer consultant for the Port Washington Soccer Club from 2005-2012.  There he selected and assessed multiple youth teams along with communicating strategic/tactical strategy coaching staff.  He also conducted both team and individual player analysis.  Lastly Topel estabilished and managed mini camps for the club.  As a high school athlete at Island Trees, Topel was an All County midfielder and 3 year varsity starter.   Topel graduated from Molloy with a Bachelors Degree in Science (2009) and his MBA in Accoutning (2011). Topel resides in Levitown, New York.
