Florida Atlantic University Men's Tennis

Gonzalez is entering his third year as the head coach of the Florida Atlantic Men's tennis team. Gonzalez has improved the number of wins in each of his first two seasons improving to double digit wins in his first season as Head Coach, and going 13-8 in his second season at the head of the program.  Ricardo Gonzalez is a former NCAA national champion team member. Gonzalez earned a top-80 ranking in the International Tennis Federationand participated in the U.S. Open during his playing career.He was ranked as high as #4 in the United States Tennis Association and #1 in Puerto Rico while also a member of the Puerto Rican Davis Cup Team for 7 years. Gonzalez was named head coach for the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis program after originally joining the program as a volunteer coach prior to the 2013 season. Gonzalez was a team captain for the University of Georgia's 2007 Division I national championship. Gonzalez's coaching career has included being an assistant coach at Davidson College from 2010-11, as well as five years experience with numerous tennis academies like the Smith Steams Tennis Academy and Chris Evert Tennis Academy. He also has been the private coach for Women's Tennis Association player Maria Alvarez since 2011.
