Reber's Moccasins entered the National Tournament ranked third and advanced to the title game where the they upset #1 ranked and previously undefeated, Adelphi by an 8-7 score to become the first school outside of Massachusetts, New York, or Pennsylvania, to win a national championship. FSC did it in dramatic style, overcoming a 6-3 halftime deficit with a smothering defense that held high-powered Adelphi scoreless for the first 17 minutes of the second half, while the FSC offense scored four-unanswered goals. The Moccasins tied a school-record for wins (19) and established a new FSC standard for goals against average with a 7.26 mark in 2016. Florida Southern completed its national title run with a 19-3 record after winning 14 consecutive games at the end of the season. Florida Southern also swept through Sunshine State Conference play with a perfect 4-0 record for a second straight season and won the program's first SSC postseason tournament championship. Individually in 2016, Emily Santoli was named the IWLCA Co-Midfielder of the Year after scoring 35 goals and assisting on 32 other goals to finish second on the Mocs with 67 points. She led the team with 64 draw controls and was second with 51 ground balls. Santoli joined teammates Gabby Barowski and Rachael Griffth on the IWLCA All-America team. Griffith and Ashley Robertson represented Florida Southern in the IWLCA North-South All-Star game, while Barowski was named the FSC Female Athlete of the Year. At the national tournament, goalkeeper Taylor Gillis was voted the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after recording eight saves and a .473 save percentage against 21 shots faced. She was joined on the National All-Tournament Team by Santoli, Kendall Kerge, Meghan O'Brien, Sarah Rhinesmith. Reber enters the 2017 season with a 77-17 career record in her five seasons with the Moccasins. In 2015, Reber's Moccasins crushed the record books en route to their first-ever berth in the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament. They finished the season 19-4, setting a new record for wins. The Mocs also swept the Sunshine State Conference, 4-0, in its inaugural season to earn the top seed and host the SSC Tournament. FSC set team single-season records for points (569), goals (360), assists (209), ground balls (547), draw controls (318), caused turnovers (316), free position goals (58), saves (182), save percentage (.499) and goals-against average (7.82). Senior Megan Asper set individual records with 73 goals scored and 86 draw controls, and senior Lorianne Hoover, a Second-Team All-American, picked up season bests with 71 ground balls and 53 caused turnovers. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Ashley Seborowski, the SSC co-Freshman of the Year, established new marks for saves (134), save percentage (.536) and goals-against average (7.67). Junior Gabby Barowski also earned First-Team All-America with 53 ground balls and 52 caused turnovers, and senior Caitlin Chase led the team and was second in the country with 100 points to earn Second-Team All-American. The season came to an end following a double-overtime loss to Lindenwood (Mo.) in FSC's first-ever NCAA Tournament game. In 2014, Reber coached the Mocs to their best season in the programs young, three-year history. FSC recorded four more wins than their previous high with a 16-2 record and finished the season ranked 10th by the IWLCA. The team set season records in almost every statistical category. The Mocs ranked third in Division II with 17.00 goals per game. IWLCA First-Team All-American Megan Asper ranked 12th in the nation in goals (62), and Second-Team All-American Caitlin Chase was third in assists (68) and fifth in points (111). Reber was named the Independent Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season. The Mocs boasted five IWLCA All-American selections, the Independent Player of the Year and Goalie of the Year. In 2012, the inaugural season, Reber led the Moccasins to a 12-4 overall record. The team earned its first victory over a ranked opponent in only its second game, an 11-6 victory over No. 10 Mercyhurst. The season was also highlighted by a 6-0 start. Reber was named the 2012 Independent Coach of the Year while eight of her players from the inaugural team were awarded post season honors; ranging from All-Independent Freshman Team to All-IWLCA South Region Second Team. As a team the Moccasins were also honored as an IWLCA All-Academic Squad. The Mocs finished their second season of competition with an 11-4 record, including wins over two ranked teams: No. 7 Stonehill, 16-12, and No. 13 Gannon, 18-10. Reber's second season of double-digit wins earned her the Kristina Quigley Award as the Independent Coach of the Year. Besides their play on the field and their studies in the classroom, Reber and her team were also committed to performing community service deeds around the Central Florida area. For their efforts, the Mocs were honored with the IWLCA Division II Team Community Awareness Award during the 2011-12 season. The Moccasins spent time helping out the community by raising money, building homes and spreading the game of lacrosse to the surrounding area. Reber comes to Florida Southern from St. Marys College in Maryland, an NCAA Division III school, where she had been the womens lacrosse coach from 2009-2010, compiling a 21-14 record. In her first season at St. Marys, she coached the team to the semifinals of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. Her team included one All-America selection, four all-region selections, five all-conference choices and the CAC Player of the Year. In her second season at St. Marys, the team again reached the CAC Tournament semifinals, had three all-region selections, six all-conference selections and the CAC Rookie of the Year. In addition, Reber produced two all-academic selections and a team all-academic award from IWLCA. Her club earned a Division III Community Service Award for completing 11 community service projects. Prior to St. Marys, Reber was the womens lacrosse coach for five seasons (2004-08) at Lycoming (Pa.), where she went 47-34, including a pair of 14-win seasons (2006-07). She was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year in 2006 after her team improved from a 5-8 season in 2005 to a 14-4 campaign in 2006. In her five seasons at Lycoming, she coached a two-time All-America selection, 10 all-region selections and 12 all-conference choices. Her 2008 Lycoming squad won the Division III Community Service Award by raising over $6,000 for breast cancer research. Reber currently owns a 144-65 record overall in 12 seasons as a head coach. A native of Pittsford, N.Y., Reber began her coaching career at Newark High School in Newark, N.Y. She also coached at Bishop Neumann High School in Williamsport, Pa., where she was the 2005 Mid-Penn Soccer Coach of the Year. Reber received her bachelors degree in sports management in 1999 from Bowling Green State University, where she played soccer and ice hockey. In 2001 she earned a second bachelors degree in physical education from SUNY-Brockport. Reber and her husband, Matthew, currently reside in Lakeland with their four daughters: Eve, Kylie, Kendall and Kenzie.
