Head Coach
Horowitz enters his fourth season on the Fordham track & field coaching staff, and serves as the recruiting coordinator. Horowitz joined the track & field staff in 2013. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Fordham cross country and track & field team from 2006-10. A two-year captain, he scored at the Atlantic 10 Championship as a member of Fordham's distance medley relay. Last year, the men's cross country won the Metropolitan Championship for the fifth time in eight years, while the women were second. Individually, freshman Sean Phillips was selected as the Atlantic 10's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer for indoor track after winning the 1,000 meters, while the women's indoor 4x800 relay captured their event for First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. In outdoor track, Jonathan Annelli was the conference champion in the 3,000 meter steeplechase event with Brian Cook finishing second in the same event, as both earned All-Atlantic 10 honors. In 2014-15, Fordham won both the men's Metropolitan and IC4A University Division Cross Country Championships, while the women's team took second at the Metropolitan Championship. The Rams also a number of indivdual accolades withTiti Fagade and Lester Taylor receiving All-Atlantic 10 honors, while the women's 4x800 relay won their event at the Atlantic 10 Championship in conference record time.

Andrew Byrne
Assistant Coach
Beginning his fifth season on the Rams' staff as an assistant coach is Andrew Byrne. In his first year, Byrne worked alongside throwers Casey Metzler and Tiffany Hanna, setting new program records in the outdoor throwing events. Metzler improved on her own school record in the hammer throw before Hanna broke that mark, as well as records in the shot put and discus throw. During the 2022-23 season, Hanna set a new mark in the women's weight throw event. The 2024-25 season saw plenty of success for the Rams, both as a team and individually. The Fordham men won their first ever indoor track & field Metropolitan Championship title and followed that by winning the outdoor Metropolitan title for the fourth time. At the Atlantic 10 Championship, the men's team finished fourth at the indoor track & field championship, the team's best finish since 2018, while tying for fifth at the outdoor championship, which was the best finish since 2019. The women's team had an eighth place finish at the indoor championship, which was their best performance since 2011. Among 13 school records set across the indoor and outdoor seasons, Michaela Gier set both the indoor and outdoor pole vault records with Michael Croke tying the outdoor pole vault record, while Tanicha Saintigene set a new women's indoor shot put mark. Byrne is no stranger to Rose Hill, as he was a four-year member of the Fordham track & field team from 2016-20, competing in a variety of track and field events. A two-year captain, he was a two-time bronze medalist at the Atlantic 10 Championship in the indoor heptathlon (2019) and outdoor decathlon (2019), a two-time Academic All-Conference selection (2019 – indoor & outdoor), and a four-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. In addition, Byrne was a three-year participant in the Fordham Leadership Academy, which focused on leading by example, relationship building, and verbal leadership strategies. After graduating from Fordham, Byrne served as a track and cross country coach at his high school alma mater, Boston College High School, specializing in the jumping events. In his first year back at Fordham, Byrne worked in the Fordham College Dean's Office as the Executive Secretary for the First-year, Sophomore, and Transfer Deans. Byrne currently works in Fordham's Study Abroad Office as the Assistant Director for Partner and Exchange Programs. Byrne earned his undergraduate degree at Fordham in American Studies and is pursuing his master's degree in Education Administration in Fordham's Graduate School of Education. Marisa Galloway
Assistant Coach
Galloway, a former high jumper for the Rams who also participated in the sprints and relay teams over her career. Last season, the men's cross country won the Metropolitan Championship for the fifth time in eight years, while the women were second. In 2008-09, Galloway helped Melissa Salerno earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in both the 800m and 1500m at the outdoor championship while guiding the men's 4x800 relay ro Second Team All-Conference accolades during the indoor season. In 2007-08, Salerno took home Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the 1000m while in 2006-07, the men's indoor 4x800 relay won the Atlantic 10 title. While at Fordham as a senior, Galloway participated in the sprints and high jump. She opened the season by winning the high jump at the Rutgers Invitational, and then placed 12th in the high jump at the Colonial Relays. She also leaped 5' 2" at the Quaker Invitational, the sixth best jump in the Atlantic 10 in 2001. In the sprints, Galloway took third in the 400m at the Omeltchenko Invitational. Galloway capped her senior season in 2001 by placing third in the high jump at the Metropolitan Championships with a leap of 4' 10.5". Indoors, Galloway registered a season-best jump of 5' 2.25" at the Jasper Invitational, which was the best jump for a Ram and the seventh best high jump in the Atlantic 10. She started the indoor season with a second place finish in the 400m and a third place finish in the high jump at the Ram Invitational and then took second in the high jump at the Fordham Invitational. Galloway also took third in the high jump at the Rutgers Invitational and closed out the indoor season with a fourth place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships. In addition to her coaching duties, Galloway has also served as a recruiter for the track and field and cross country programs.

Sean Atkinson
Assistant Coach
Atkinson begins his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Fordham track & field team. Atkinson was an outstanding performer for the Fordham track & field squad over his four year career, earning All-Atlantic 10 honors in each of his four years of indoor track and three out of four years for outdoor track. He received All-Conference accolades in the indoor 500 meters, the indoor 4x400 relay, and the outdoor 400 meter hurdles. Atkinson finished his career holding three school records in the indoor 500 meters (1:02.72 - 2013), the indoor 4x400 relay (3:14.75 - 2013), and the outdoor 4x400 relay (3:11.97 - 2011). Tom Dewey
Assistant Coach
Dewey. He has been the head coach of the men's track & field program for the past 35 seasons, and returns for his 22nd season at the helm of the women's track & field program, his second stint in charge of the women's program, the first lasting seven years. Among the highlights last season, the men's cross country won the Metropolitan Championship for the fifth time in eight years, while the women were second. Individually, freshman Sean Phillips was selected as the Atlantic 10's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer for indoor track after winning the 1,000 meters, while the women's indoor 4x800 relay captured their event for First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. In outdoor track, Jonathan Annelli was the conference champion in the 3,000 meter steeplechase event with Brian Cook finishing second in the same event, as both earned All-Atlantic 10 honors. In 2014-15, Dewey saw the men's cross country team capture its second straight IC4A University Division Championship (fourth overall), with Mike Turi winning medalist honors. The Rams also won the men's Metropolitan Cross Country Championship, while the women's team took second. Individually, the Rams earned All-Atlantic 10 honors in three indoor events (First Team - women's 4x800; Second Team - men's DMR, women's 500 - Fagade) and one outdoor event (Second Team - 800 - Taylor), while seven school records were set. In 2013, Dewey saw the men's cross country team win the IC4A University Division Championship for the third time overall, with Jonathan Annelli winning the race for top honors. Individually, high jumper David Fajoyomi become Fordham's first NCAA Championship participant since 2009, where he earned Second Team All-America honors after tying for 15th overall. It was the last award of many for Fajoyomi, as he was the Atlantic 10 champion in the high jump for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, while breaking school records for the indoor high jump and indoor 200 meter dash. A total of seven school records fell during the 2013-14 campaign, three of which were taken down by Titi Fagade in the 200, 500, and 800 meter indoor events. Previously, Dewey saw the continued success of his squads as the mens outdoor team captured the 2013 Metropolitan Championship, the Rams the third Met title over the past six years. During indoors for the men in 2013-14, the 4x400 relay team of Sean Atkinson, Sean Collins, Ian Williams, and Lester Taylor earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors with a win at the conference championships while Atkinson (500m), Sam Houston (heptathlon), David Fajoyomi (high jump) and the men's 4x800 relay also earned Second Team All-Conference honors. Fajoyomi went on to earn Second Team All-East honors with a second place showing at the IC4A Championship, an event where the Rams also snapped the school 4x400 relay record, the oldest standing track record at Rose Hill. On the womens side last winter, Titi Fagade was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in the 800m. She then went on to receive Second Team All-East honors by taking second overall in the 500m at the ECAC Championships. Also at the ECACs, the womens 4x800 relay of Fagade, Melissa Higgins, Mara Lieberman, and Kristen Stuart broke the school record by over six seconds and earned Second Team All-East honors. Natioanlly Fordham had some of the top times in four different events with Atkinson (500m) ranking tenth, Fagade rated sixth (500m), the women's 4x800 relay ranking sixth and the men's 4x800 relay team turning in the fourth fastest time. Outdoors last spring, Kevin Fitzgerald won the 1,500m at the Atlantic 10 Championships while Fajoyomi continued his indoor success with a Second Team All-Conference showing in the high jump. Atkinson (400m hurdles) and the 4x800 relay also earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. For the women/ the 4x800 relay placed second at the ECAC Championships to earn Second Team All-East accolades. Fajoyomi wrapped up the season by representing Fordham at the 2013 NCAA East Regionals in the high jump. In the classroom, Fordham was one of 106 schools nationally to have both its men's and women's team honored by the USTFCCCA as a 2013 Division I All-Academic Track & Field team while Fitzgerald and Collins earned Academic All-Atlantic 10 honors. In 2011-12, Dewey saw his athletes gain recognition in cross country as well as in both indoor and outdoor track. In the fall, Julian Saad won both the IC4A and Metropolitan championship, becoming the first Fordham cross country runner to win both races. He also placed fourth at the Atlantic 10 Championship, the best ever showing for a Fordham male at the A-10s, to earn All-Conference accolades. Indoors in 2011-12, the Rams capped the season at the ECAC/IC4A Championship where the Rams had three second place finishes as David Fajoyomi and Kevin Fitzgerald placed second in the high jump and mile, respectively, and the 4x800 relay also took second, to earn Second Team All-East honors. At the Atlantic 10 Championships, Fordham's men's team tied its best-ever finish with a third place showing while the women's team took ninth. Leading the way for the men were Fitzgerald (1000m), Fajoyomi (high jump) and the 4x800 relay, who all won their events (the 4x800 relay won for the fourth straight year), while Sean Atkinson (500m) and Saad (3000m) each took second to earn Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. The 2012 Fordham outdoor season was highlighted by Sean Collins (400m hurdles), Blair Hassell (javelin), and Fajoyomi (high jump) qualifying for the NCAA East Regionals. Earlier in the spring, the Rams had a quality showing at the ECAC/IC4A Championships where the mens 4x800 relay took home the gold. At the Atlantic 10 Championship, Fitzgerald (1500m) and Sam Houston (decathlon) won events while Atkinson (400m hurdles), Fajoyomi (high jump), the mens 4x800 relay and Hassel (javelin) all earned Second Team All-Conference accolades. In 2010-11, the season opened with Michael Belgiovine earning the Atlantic 10 Newcomer of the Year Award as the leagues top rookie finisher. Indoors, the Rams received All-East performances from senior Kerri Gallagher in the 800m and the mens 4x800 relay as both took second place at the ECAC/IC4A Championships, the mens relay in school-record setting fashion. At the 2011 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship, the men's team managed a third place finish by one point over Massachusetts and Temple, tying the team's best ever finish, led by Brian Schmidt who defended his A-10 title in the 800 meters. He was joined in the winners circle by Kevin Fitzgerald, who won the 1,000 meters and the 4x800 relay. On the womens side, Gallagher stole the show pulling off two event wins in Atlantic 10 record times. She won the mile run in an Atlantic 10 record time of 4:48.60, breaking the old mark of 4:49.71 by La Salle's Toniann Razzi in 2000, and the 1,000 meter run in a conference record time of 2:51.43, breaking the 2006 record of 2:52.79, held by La Salle's Elizabeth Geiger. Outdoors in 2011, the Rams set five school records at the Atlantic 10 Championships with Schmidt (800m), Danny Atkinson (400m hurdles) and the 4x800 relay earning Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the men while Gallagher did the same for the women (1500m) while the 4x800 relay went on to earn All-East honors at the IC4A Championships. Following the outdoor season, two Rams wrapped up competition on the national stage as Sam Houston placed tenth in the decathlon and Anisa Arsenault finished eleventh in the 5000m at the 2011 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field. In 2009-10, the year started off with senior Brigid Moriarty becoming just the second womens cross country runner in school history to earn All-Atlantic 10 honors while off the course, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded the Fordham University mens and womens teams All-Academic Team honors for the 2009 season. Moriarty and graduate student Clifton Hilario led the way in the classroom as each were named to the 2009 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team. The 2009-10 indoors season was capped by Kevin Fitzgerald and Gallagher's performances at the ECAC/IC4A Championships where Fitzgerald won the IC4A 1000 meter title while Gallagher took second in the ECAC 1000m. For their accomplishments, both runners were named All-East. At the Atlantic 10 Championships, Brian Schmidt won the 800 meters in an Atlantic 10 record time (1:52.86) while Gallagher won one event and took second in another to earn two All-Conference accolades. This was the first time that Fordham has had multiple running event victories at the Atlantic 10 Championship, since joining the league in 1996. In addition to the individual accolades, the mens 4x400 relay earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10. At the 2010 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships, Moriarty won the 10,000 meters while Gallagher won the 800 meter run in an Atlantic 10 record time of 2:09.08 as both earned First Team All-Conference honors while Schmidt, who took second in the 800 meters, earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. Academically outdoors, Moriarty, Gallagher and senior John Korevec were recognized for their athletic and academic accomplishments by being named to the 2010 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team. In 2008-09, the Fordham men successfully defended their outdoor Metropolitan crown while the women took second for the second consecutive season. The Rams also had three Atlantic 10 individual champions, two individual and two relays that earned Second Team All-Conference honors. The season was highlighted by Matt DiBuono, who was named Athlete of the Meet at the Outdoor Metropolitan Championships for the second straight year. He also won both the weight throw and hammer competitions at the Atlantic 10 Championships and advanced to the NCAA National Championships in the hammer throw where he placed 14th. On the year, eight school records fell while academically, two student-athletes were named Academic All-Atlantic 10, including senior Clifton Hilario who was named Academic All-Conference for cross country, indoor track and outdoor track as well as being named First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District. In 2007-08, Dewey led the men's outdoor squad to their first ever Metropolitan Championship while the women's squad took second; their best ever finish at the outdoor Mets. Additionally, the men's indoor 4x800 relay successfully defended its Atlantic 10 title. DiBuono, who was named Athlete of the Meet at the Outdoor Metropolitan Championships, defended his Atlantic 10 hammer throw crown while also earning Second Team All-Conference honors in the weight throw. Two other Rams earned All-Conference honors during the indoor season while two school records fell on the year. In 2006-07, the Rams had five athletes earn All-Atlantic 10 honors during the indoor season, including Kerstin Greene, who was named the Atlantic 10 Indoor Field Performer of the Year as well as earning All-America honors in the heptathlon, and DiBuono, who was named the Atlantic 10 Indoor Rookie of the Meet. In the outdoor season the Rams earned All-Conference honors in five events and one relay with Greene being named the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Field Performer of the Year and winning both the heptathlon and long jump titles. Fordham athletes also set eight school indoor records and five outdoor records while both the men's and women's teams finished third at the 2006 Outdoor Metropolitan Championships. The 2004-05 season was one of the most successful seasons under Dewey's direction with the men's indoor squad taking third at the Atlantic 10 Championships, Fordham's best ever showing at the conference meet, earning Dewey the 2004-05 Atlantic 10 Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year honors. The Fordham men also took fourth of nine teams at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships. Sophomore Aaron DeGraffe led the charge for Dewey's men, setting the Fordham indoor triple jump record while garnering First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the event for both the indoor and outdoor season. On the women's side in 2004-05, no fewer than eight school records were set during the indoor and outdoor season. Kerstin Greene led the assault on the record book, setting six records as well as earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the high jump for both the indoor and outdoor season. In 2003-04, the Fordham women set three school records while the men had a First Team All-Atlantic 10 Performer and the women a Second Team All-Conference athlete. Additionally, the men's outdoor 4x400 relay team earned Second Team honors. In 2003, Dewey had two men advance to the NCAA East Regionals at George Mason University with Deric Zaphire just missing out qualifying for the finals in the 400 IH. The 2002-03 Rams also were a record-setting bunch, breaking four indoor records and two outdoor records. In 2002, under Dewey's tutelage, the men and women's outdoor teams took second at the Metropolitan Championships, the highest combined performance in school history at the time. Under Dewey's watchful eye over the past 29 years, the Fordham men's program also achieved its first indoor and outdoor track championship in five decades. The Rams have also won two IC4A University Division Cross Country Championships as well as two Metropolitan Outdoor titles. The women's program has claimed several titles as well, including the New York State Division I Cross Country Championship, the New York Downstate Cross Country title, and the College Track Conference Cross Country Championship. In 1995-96, the Lady Rams captured their third consecutive ECAC University Division title. On the men's side, 28 current school records have been set during Dewey's tenure, while the women's squad has set 36 records. In the spring of 2002, Dewey received the Hughes Award from Fordham University in recognition of his 20+ years of service to the university. Dewey is in his 45th season of coaching. Before arriving at Fordham, he worked at St. Augustine, Nazareth, and Bishop Ford High Schools in the CHSAA. He has been honored as Fordham's "Coach of the Year" in 1983 and in 1995.

Nickeela Austin
Assistant Coach
Beginning her fourth season on the Rams' coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season is Nickeela Austin. During her first season on staff, she worked with sprinters Kyla Hill and Kathryn Kelly, who both earned All-Atlantic 10 honors, as well as the 4x100 relay, which earned a bronze medal at the 2022 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships and set a new school record. Hill also set individual records in the 100- and 200-meter dashes during the outdoor season. Hill and Kelly would also both set the school record in the 60-meter dash for indoor track. For the 2022-23 season, Fordham won both the men's and women's Metropolitan Cross Country Championships as team accomplishments. Individually, the Rams posted eight school records and medaled six times, led by Kyla Hill earning three individual medals and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the indoor and outdoor 200-meter dash. Other accomplishments included eight CSC Academic All-District selections, one Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection (Ben Borchers - outdoor 800 meters), Steven Zucca capturing Academic All-Atlantic 10 in all three seasons (XC, ITF, OTF), and Nolan Chiles receiving CSC Third Team Academic All-American honors, becoming the Rams' first Academic All-American since 1998. In 2023-24, the Fordham women won their second Metropolitan Championship for outdoor track. Individually, the Rams posted six school records and medaled at the Atlantic 10 Championship in the men's indoor 3,000 meters (Rodolfo Sanchez - silver), the women's indoor 200 meters (Kyla Hill - bronze), and the men's outdoor 1,500 meters (Colin Flood - bronze). Other accomplishments included eight CSC Academic All-District selections, three Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection (Sean Reidy - indoor 1,000 meters, Sarah Zakaykevich - outdoor 10,000 meters, and Lexi Fujita - outdoor high jump), Steven Zucca capturing Academic All-Atlantic 10 in all three seasons (XC, ITF, OTF) with Rodolfo Sanchez earning the same honor for both indoor and outdoor track. Individually, Katarina Birimac had a superb season, finishing second at the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship to earn All-Conference honors, while winning the indoor 5,000 meters and the outdoor 10,000 meters for First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. On the men's side, the distance medley relay, Rodolfo Sanchez (mile), and Njam Abdul-Latif (60m & 200m) were all Atlantic 10 champions at the indoor meet with Abdul-Latif receiving the Most Outstanding Rookie Performer Award. Abdul-Latif then duplicated that feat at the outdoor championship and added to it, capturing both the Most Outstanding Rookie Performer, as well as the Most Outstanding Track Performer Award, after winning the 200-meter dash and taking second in the 100 meters. It was only the second time in conference history that an athlete took home both accolades. Sanchez also earned All-Conference honors at the outdoor championship after placing second in the 1,500 meters. The Rams also saw Abdul-Latif (indoor & outdoor) and Sara Labor (indoor) earn spots on the All-Rookie Team with Birimac (ITF, OTF), Sanchez (ITF, OTF), Ben Borchers (ITF), and Sean Reidy (ITF) garnering Academic All-Conference honors, as well as set 13 school records across the indoor and outdoor seasons. Additionally, Austin is a two-year WSF VanDerveer fellow after receiving a Tara VanDerveer Fund for the Advancement of Women in Coaching grant from the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF). Grants were awarded to institutions to support collegiate women coaches on the rise, assisting with living expenses, professional development and mentorship. Fordham is one of 10 universities and colleges to receive the grants, which are designated for women coaching fellows in a wide variety of women’s sports. Austin finished her track & field career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, spending her last three seasons there after a year at Cheyney University. A team captain for the 2020-21 season, she was an eight-time All-Atlantic Region honoree, which included four indoor and four outdoor awards. This past season, she posted an NCAA Provisional mark in the triple jump, ranking 23rd in the country. She finished her career as the second-best triple jumper at IUP and was a two-time PSAC champion in that event, while also winning the long jump once at PSAC Championship. Prior to IUP, Austin was a member of the track & field team at Cheyney University, where she set the school record in the triple jump event. Aside from her track & field accomplishments, Austin is a member of the U.S. National Guard and earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from IUP in 2020.
