Katarina Marks
Assistant Coach
Marks (formerly Katarina Medici) is in her third year as an assistant cross country and track & field coach. Marks graduated from Fort Lewis College in December 2013 with a degree in Exercise Science. A a cross country and track runner for 10 years, Marks has been competing in races since junior high. She ran for two years at San Diego Christian College, before transferring to Fort Lewis where she ran two years for the Skyhawks. Marks coached cross country and track for two years when she lived in California for both a junior high school and high school. She also works as a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.

Mark Dutro
Assistant Coach
Dutro coached the Skyhawks first ever women's track and field student-athlete to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships. In her first year competing in track and field, Skylyn Webb qualified for the Indoor championship meet in the 400m dash, and she qualified for the Outdoor championship meet in the 400m dash and 800m run. Dutro has served as an instructor in the Fort Lewis College Exercise Science Department since 2002. He teaches classes in personal health, fitness and wellness, K-12 physical education teaching, coaching, and a variety of skill and fitness activities. Dutro has seven years of NCAA Division III experience at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. He was head coach of the Rams in cross country from 1996-2000 and in track & field from 1993-2000. He previously was head boys and girls cross country coach at Mount Vernon Community Schools from 1993-96 and head boys and girls cross country and head girls track & field coach at Iowa City West High School in Iowa City, Iowa, from 1991-93. He was also an assistant womens track & field coach at the University of Iowa for four months in the spring of 1991. Dutro received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Kansas State University in 1982 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Wichita State University in 1987. He received his Master of Arts degree in Physical Education from the University of Iowa in 1993. He previously earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Butler County Community College in 1979. He holds Level II USA Track and Field coaching certification with emphasis in jumps and endurance. Dutro was named Iowa Class 3A Coach of the Year honors in 1991, when he guided Iowa City West boys team to a runner-up finish in the state cross country championships. In becoming the seventh head cross country coach in FLC history, Dutro follows in the footsteps of Ken Flint (2000-11), Alex Accetta (1998-99), Dale Garland (1987, 1995-97), Susan Leonard (1992-94), Chuck Walker (1998-91), and Ray Williams (1984-86).
