Jordan Gush

Assistant Coach

Gush enters his second year with the Greyhound football program as the Wide Receivers Coach.  Prior to FSCC, Gush served as the Tight-End Coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.  Gush attended Stony Brook University in Long Island, N.Y., where he helped lead the team to four straight conference championships as a wide receiver and punt returner.  He graduated from Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies. Coach Gush is from Dallas, Texas.  He is the son of Jim Gush and Anne Gush and has one sister, Stephanie Kulp.

Jeff Kelly

Assistant Coach

Kelly is in his first season at Fort Scott Community College (FSCC).  A former All-American linebacker and NFL player, Kelly will serve as the Defensive Coordinator. Prior to joining the Greyhounds, Kelly served as Defensive Coordinator for Garden City Community College.  Under his tenure, Garden City was cited as one of the top defenses in the Jayhawk Conference.   Garden Citys defense was third best in the KJCCC in yards per game allowed at 289.2, and 21st in the nation. Kellys college football career also started at Garden City Community College.  ESPN describes his sophomore year at GCCC as record breaking. ESPN also cited Kellys 1996 recruitment to Kanas State University as one of the most compelling blue-chip battles in Big 12 history.  Kelly went on to be 1997s Big 12 Defensive Newcomer-of-the-Year; Captain of the Kansas State team; First Team All-American; and 1998s Big 12 Defensive Player-of-the-Year. After college, Kelly was a 1999 NFL sixth round draft pick.  Kelly played four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars before turning to coaching. Kelly was a graduate coach with the University of Oklahoma and Kansas State University.  Kelly has also coached with the University of Arizona and served as Trinity Valley Community Colleges Defensive Line Coach.  Jeff Kelly is a graduate of Kansas State University.  He has a daughter, Kennedy, and is originally from Texas. Kory Vaught

Assistant Coach

Vaught enters his second season with the Greyhound football program as the Tight Ends Coach. Coach Vaught comes to FSCC after graduating from Friends University with a Bachelor of Science degree.  In 2012, Coach Vaught was the Assistant Wide Receiver Coach and Scout Team Offensive Coordinator for Friends University.  The four previous years Coach Vaught played wide receiver at Rock Valley Community College in Rockford, Ill. and for Friends University in Wichita, Kan.   Coach Vaught is originally from Winnebago, Ill. where he attended Winnebago High School and was a captain and 1st team All-Conference player.

Curtis Horton

Assistant Coach

Horton enters his eighth season with the FSCC Coaching Staff; serving four years as the head coach.  Prior to serving as the head coach at FSCC, Horton served as the Offensive Coordinator.  As the Offensive Coordinator, the Greyhounds played in three bowl games, played for the national championship in 2009, and have been nationally ranked at seasons end (#2 , #6, and #9).  Under Hortons leadership, the Hounds offensive units have had two First Team All-Americans, two Honorable Mention All-Americans, three Academic All-Americans, two KJCCC Offensive Players of the Year, and one NJCAA National Player of the Year. Coach Hortons offensive linemen have received full scholarship offers to Florida State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, UAB, Utah State, University of Ohio, East Carolina University, Pittsburg State, Arkansas Tech, Chadron State, University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Tulsa University. Horton graduated from Southwestern College where he received his bachelors degree and masters degree.  Horton was a four year letterman, three year starter, and a two time All-Conference Offensive Lineman for the Mound Builders. Horton is a native of Ider, Ala. and has made coaching stops at Southwestern College, Baker University, Kansas Wesleyan University, Scott City Community High School, and Sublette High School. Horton is married to Cetra (Oberhelman) Horton of Ness City, Kan.  They have two children, Curtis Jr. (13) and Carley Joe (10). Horton, in his twenty-one year career, can predicate his program off of one thing, There is No Magic Fairy Dust.  Student athletes must work to achieve our program goals of Graduate, Championship and Scholarship.

Richard Johnson

Assistant Coach

Johnson is from Jefferson City, Mo.  He is entering his third season coaching at Fort Scott Community College.  Johnson played on the defensive line at University of Kansas from 2007-2011, started 33 games, and recorded 88 tackles in his playing career.  Coach Johnson was named to the 2008 Phil Steele Freshman All-American team.  He was a member of the 2008 Orange Bowl Championship team earning the George Mrkonic Scout Team Player of the year as a defensive lineman, and also was a key member of the 2008 Insight Bowl Championship team.  Highlights at Fort Scott Community College -2012 Coached 3 All KJCC Conference Defensive lineman 1st team Will Bland, 2nd team Demetrious Hill, and Honorable mention Justin Taimatuia. That year the greyhounds lead the KJCC Conference in Sacks. -2013 coached a NJCAA All American and 1st team All KJCC defensive end Demetrious Hill -2014 coached 1 All KJCC Defensive lineman Koron Crump who had 10 sacks as a freshman which ranks him #4 in Fort Scott Community College All-Time record for sacks in a single season. -Under coach Johnsons leadership Fort Scotts defensive line has received full scholarship offers to; South Carolina, Boise State; South Florida, South Alabama, Louisiana Lafayette, North Carolina Central, Houston Baptist University, and Pittsburg State University. He earned a Bachelor Degree in American Studies and a minor in Communications from the University of Kansas.

Matt Glades

Assistant Coach

Glades enters his 6th year at Fort Scott Community College, 4th year as a coach. Coach Glades is the Linebackers Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. He is also in charge of being the teams video coordinator, community service director, and team academia director. Coach Glades takes great pride in and has a lot of experience at the linebacker position, as he was the leading tackler for the Greyhounds in 2006 and again in 2007. He was a two time All-Conference linebacker and an Academic All-American in the KJCCC. After Fort Scott, Glades went to Missouri Western State University for two years to play for the Griffons. He became an All-Conference MIAA linebacker, and grabbed numerous academic awards. Glades graduated from Missouri Western with a Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering, and has a masters degree in Health, Human Performance, and Recreation with an emphasis in human performance and wellness from Pittsburg State University.  Glades grew up in Galena, Kan. where he attended Galena High School. He was an All-Conference and All-State Linebacker, a 2006 Shrine Bowl participant, and helped lead the Bulldogs to then best record in school history at 11-1. Glades is married to Alyssa (Malone) of Fort Scott, KS. They have one son, Bishop who was born in May of this year. The Glades family is very proud to wear maroon once again. Coach Glades is not the only one to wear maroon in his family, but his younger brother Sean, who also played for the Greyhounds, and his wonderful wife Alyssa also attended Fort Scott Community College.

Moses Harper

Assistant Coach

Harper begins his third season at FSCC and second as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach. The 2013 version of the Fort Scott offense was explosive, as the Greyhounds finished first in Region VI play, averaging 429.0 yards per game. QB Jason Stewart finished with 1,905 yards passing and 15 TD, with 8 TD passes going to first team All-Conference WR Jared Dangerfield finishing the season with 43 catches and 694 yards. RB Jonathon Alford led the rushing attack, as he had 263 touches with 1,289 yards which is the most by any first year back in school history.  Coach Harpers offense, in 2013, had 10 players who received post season honors with four first team, two 2nd team and four honorable mention All-Conference honors.  Prior to coming to FSCC, Coach Harper spent one season at Highland Community College. Before his stop at Highland Coach Harper was a student assistant at Central Methodist University (CMU), coaching the receiving corps. Harper helped the Eagle offense set many new records including the single game mark of 652 total yards. Before joining the Eagle football coaching staff Moses was a two sport standout for CMU.  On the gridiron, Moses was a Heart of America All Conference Wide Receiver and helped the team to their first winning record in 18 years and set numerous offensive records.   On the basketball court he played for Missouri Hall of Fame coach Jeff Sherman and helped lead the Eagles to a 28 win season and a Sweet Sixteen appearance at the NAIA D1 National Tournament.  Following graduation Moses spent some time playing for the Wichita Wild in the Indoor Football league.  Prior to his time in CMU, Moses played hoops lettering for two seasons at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Mo. where he was part of NCMCs only 20 win season in school history. Moses, a McComb, Miss. native, earned his Associates of Arts degree from NCMC and his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Management from CMU. Coach Harper has a son Kaden Tyrell Harper, and resides in Fort Scott
