Costello was named Head Women's Tennis Coach to start the 2023-24 season The Barons made an impressive run in the PAC Tournament in the fall of 2024. After ending the regular season with a pair of losses, the Baron earned the #6 seed. They traveled to #3 Saint Vincent where they won 4-1. Two days later, they took down #2 Grove City by a score of 4-3. They then were a point away from taking the Championship, as they fell at #1 Allegheny by a score of 4-3. Seven Barons earned All-PAC honor including Claire Cardie and Kina Ehlers, who earned First Team honors in singles and doubles.  To round out a successful 2024-25 season, the Barons earned the St. Pope John Paul II Team award at the Franciscan Athletics award banquet, as they were voted as the team that most exemplified what Franciscan Athletics represents. They also earned the highest GPA of any Franciscan team over the 2024-25 school year with a 3.54 GPA. In his first season at the helm, the Barons continued their recent success with another deep run in the PAC Tournament. The Barons had a 9-4 record in the fall with a 6-2 mark in conference contests. Maria Herrera led the way by being named PAC Player of the Year for the third year in a row. Six players in total earned All-PAC recognition.  "We are excited to have Tom on board for this season." said Assistant Athletic Director Alexis Basil. "I know he is very excited to work with the team, and I am excited to see their continued success under his new leadership." As well as his coaching duties, he works as the Program Manager for Concurrent Enrollment on campus Prior to working at Franciscan, He served as the Principal for Steubenville Catholic Central High School for five years. While there he served as Head Tennis Coach. He is a graduate of the University of Scranton for his undergraduate studies. He has earned his master's degree and other certifications over the years as well. His sons, Joshua and Tom, were both successful student-athletes that have graduated from Franciscan.  Year by Year Results at Franciscan Year Record Pct.
