John Jackson

Head Coach

John "Boo" Jackson enters his second year as Men's and Women's Golf Head Coach. He was hired at Franklin Pierce University in November of 2024. Jackson comes to us from American International College after he quickly expanded the roster and led the team to a remarkable 5th-place finish at the 2024 NE10 Championship—far exceeding pre-season expectations. In the 2024-25 season for the men, Jackson coached Seth Saffell into the Atlantic East Regional Championships. He put up a strong performance, and his appearance marked a historic milestone for Franklin Pierce as one of the few to qualify for the NCAA postseason as an individual. Saffell and Peter Wurszt were both given NE10 Conference honors, with Saffell earning Second Team and Wurszt acquiring Third Team under Jackson’s leadership.  For the women, Jackson led the team into the NCAA DII East Regional Championship, putting up a strong performance and landing the team in 9th place out of 18 teams. After an impressive season, Jackson helped 5 Ravens acquire NE10 All-Conference Honors. Kesinee Prukmathakul, Lorelai Flanagan, and Phisonlaya Ruayruen all earned First Team Honors. Additionally, Jackson assisted Prukmathakul in earning NE10 Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, ending her decorated career here at Franklin Pierce.   Jackson’s work both on the course and off is impressive. He has served as a golf professional or director of golf at courses such as the Crumpin-Fox Club and GreatHorse in Western Massachusetts. Over his career, he has facilitated or administered over 150 golf tournaments, including USGA Qualifiers, Mass Golf Championships, and charity events. As a player, he has competed in over 100 professional golf events, carding multiple top-10 finishes in NEPGA, Tri-State PGA, and CTPGA events. He passed the PGA Playing Ability Test on his first attempt, which is accomplished by fewer than 20 percent of competitors. In addition to his on-course experience, he has worked with several significant figures in the sport during his time as a golf instructor. Most notable among his mentors are former PGA President Jim Remy and Tri-State PGA Hall of Famer John Mazza, who competed in four golf majors. He has also worked on the business side of golf with Fox Golf/Sandri Companies, identifying and capturing new revenue streams for the company. In his time on the corporate side of the golf world, he built corporate partnerships with prominent colleges and prep schools including the University of Massachusetts and University of Connecticut, as well as businesses such as MGM Springfield.
