Perry Webster
Head Coach
Webster eneters his second season as the men's basketball coach of Fullerton College. In his first season at the helm, Webster led the Hornets to a 22-8 record and to the Southern California Regional Semi-Finals. The 20-win season was the first at FC since the 2007-08 season. Since 1927, Coach Webster is now the 15th coach in the Hornet's rich basketball history that features 3 state titles and 30 conference titles. Hired at the age of twenty-six, Perry is one of the youngest coaches in community college basketball. He is also the second youngest coach to begin his career at FC (the youngest was Dieter Horton at twenty-five). As a boy, Perry had an early connection to the Hornet's Nest Gym as it is where his father coached him to 2 National Junior Basketball championships. Perry also watched his dad win 5 titles in the gym as a NJB coach. Webster grew up in Orange County where he went to Mission Viejo High School and played basketball for the Diablos. He was the starting point guard on the varsity team his freshman year on a team that won the CIF title. He was voted All-League all four years, voted All-CIF three years, voted 1st Team All-Orange County, was the South County Player of the Year, and Team MVP his senior year. Webster's jersey number was retired at Mission Viejo High in 2007. With his high school days behind him, Perry went on to play basketball at Saddleback College where he helped lead the team to a state championship in 2010. He was voted 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-State, and was the State Tournament MVP. Perry was inducted into the Gaucho Hall of Fame in 2012. Transferring to Cal Sate Fullerton, Webster finished off his playing career as a Titan. By the end of his senior year, Perry was the team captain, the Big West assists leader, was ranked in the top 30 in the country in assist to turnover ratio, and earned the "Titan Hustle Award" chosen by Booster club. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2013. Webster began his coaching career at Saddleback College where he spent the last three years as an assistant coach under Coach Ground. In that time, Perry helped produce 14 All-Conference players, 3 conference championships, an overall conference record of 33-3, and a state championship in 2015. Perry recruited the last two conference players of the year in Eric Thompson and Conor Clifford.
