In his fifth season at the head of the Paladin program, Davidson was voted the 2023 SoCon Coach of the Year by his peers. Under Davidson’s tutelage, Furman, which concluded the season ranked 62nd by Golfstat and 58th by Golfweek, received an at-large regional bid for the first time since 2002 and made its fifth NCAA Regional appearance and first since 2010. At the NCAA Salem Regional, senior Sam Lape fired a final-round 64 to finish second, the highest regional finish in Furman men's golf history, and claim the region's individual bid to the championship. After posting rounds of 65-72-64=201 to finish 15-under par at the event, he became the first Paladin to compete at the NCAA Championship since Kirk Satterfield finished fifth at the 2001 NCAA East Regional to advance to the finals. Also during the 2022-23 season, sophomore Will Morlan, a PING All-Region Team selection, became the first Paladin to win three individual titles in a season since Brad Faxon accomplished the feat in 1983. An All-Southern Conference honoree, he led the Paladins and ranked second in the league with a 70.06 stroke average over 36 rounds, the lowest season stroke average in the history of the Furman program. In September, he tied for the individual championship at the Old Town Collegiate with a three-round score of 10-under after shooting a career-best 63 in the second round, then he tied for individual medalist honors at the Furman Intercollegiate at 9-under in October. Morlan shot 18-under par to win the Hootie at Bulls Bay in March, setting both a Furman and tournament 54-hole record. Harris Barth was voted to the 2023 SoCon All-Freshman Team with a 72.4 stroke average over 21 spring rounds, while the Paladin team finished as runner-up at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate and took third place at the SoCon Championship and the Old Town Collegiate. Senior Jack Crosby noted three top-10 finishes and joined Funderburke on the all-conference team, while Will Morlan was voted to the SoCon All-Freshman Team. In Davidson's third season as head coach, the 2021 season was shortened, with Furman playing only in the spring. The Paladins won the Furman Intercollegiate team championship for the first time since 2004 and just the third time in Furman Intercollegiate history. Furman recorded four top-3 team finishes and notched a 271 in the second round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, tying the best round in Paladin men's golf history. Under Davidson's direction, Keller Harper concluded his career in 2021 as one of only two players in SoCon history to be named SoCon Player of the Year three times and became one of only two players in program history, along with Brad Faxon, to compete as an individual in multiple NCAA regionals. After tying for 14th at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, Harper was honored as a member of the PING East All-Region Team. He finished the 2020-21 season with a conference best 70.7 stroke average, which ranks third in Paladin history. Mac Scott represented the Paladins on the SoCon All-Freshman Team after putting together a 72.8 stroke average in the spring of 2021. During the shortened 2019-20 campaign, Davidson's second season at the helm of the Paladin program, Furman notched top-3 finishes at both the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. The Paladins recorded a season-best round of 276 in the final round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, the second-best round in Furman men's golf history, after tallying a 277 in the opening round just days before. Harper, who led the Paladins with a 71.9 stroke average over 21 rounds, and rookie Reynolds Lambert, who was second on the team with a 72.7 stroke average over 15 rounds, each fired a 65 in the final round of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, tying for fifth and helping the Paladins to a third-place finish. In his first season as head coach, Furman won the team title at the Wofford Invitational, marking the Paladins' first team championship since 2011, and finished as runner up at four additional tournaments. All-SoCon selection Harper was honored as the Southern Conference Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season after winning individual medalist honors at both the River Run Collegiate and the Furman Intercollegiate, and Jack Crosby, who was voted the SoCon Freshman of the Year, claimed individual medalist honors at the Wofford Invitational. The individual titles were the first for the Paladins since 2014. The Paladins returned to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2010, as Harper qualified as an individual for the NCAA Athens Regional, where he tied for 25th. Davidson, a native of West Windsor, N.J., served as the Paladin assistant coach during the 2018 spring season before being appointed head coach. During the 2018 season, Harper was chosen the SoCon Men's Golf Player of the Year, becoming the first Paladin to win the award since Davidson captured the honor in 2002. Harper led the league with a 72.2 stroke average over 31 rounds and recorded three top-5 finishes, including a fourth-place finish at the league championships. Also in 2018, Connor Bruns earned his second-consecutive All-SoCon nod, and Scott Purvis qualified for the U.S. Amateur. Prior to his time coaching at Furman, Davidson spent 13 years playing professionally, splitting time between the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour. He played in 147 events on the Korn Ferry Tour and made 90 cuts, notched 16 top-10 finishes, and finished among the top three on four occasions during his professional career. His best Korn Ferry Tour finish came in 2015, when he tied for second at the HSBC Brazil Championship. The 2008 and 2009 EGolf Tour championship winner, he posted a career-best 14th-place finish at the 2005 Greater Milwaukee Open on the PGA Tour. The 2002 Southern Conference Player of the Year, Davidson was a member of the Paladin golf team from 2000-2004. He won individual medalist honors at the 2004 SoCon Championships and was chosen the 2004 Furman Male Athlete of the Year following a stellar senior campaign. A member of the Furman Athletics' 2018 Hall of Fame class, Davidson ranked second on Furman's career stroke average list behind only Faxon at the time of his graduation. A two-time All-SoCon first team selection, he was twice honored as a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America All-American Scholar team. Davidson earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Furman in 2004. His wife, Natalie The, graduated from Furman in 2003 and was a member of the Paladin women's tennis team. She is a professor in the Furman health sciences department. The couple are parents of two sons, Wesley (10) and Graham (8).

Austin Reeves
Assistant Coach
Reeves, who joined the Furman mens golf staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the spring of 2013, is in his third season as the men's golf assistant coach after bring promoted prior to the 2014 season. After Austin helped us last spring in a volunteer capacity, I am extremely excited to have him on board as our assistant coach, said Satterfield at the time of Reeves hiring. Austin has done a fantastic job of helping the guys develop as players and he has proven to be a very effective recruiter. His knowledge and experiences will be invaluable to our younger players. A 2012 Furman University graduate, Reeves captured 2010 Southern Conference Individual Medalist honors while leading the Paladins to the SoCon team title and a berth in the NCAA Southeast Regional. He was named to the 2010 and 2012 All-SoCon teams while garnering 2009-10 Furman Male Athlete of the Year honors. Reeves, who posted a career 74.1 stroke average over 109 competitive rounds as a Paladin, fashioned a 72.8 stroke average as a junior in 2009-10 en route to earning All-SoCon honors. In addition to his SoCon title, the Greenville, S.C. native captured the Furman Intercollegiate title as a sophomore in March of 2009 with a career-low score of 66 in the final round. Reeves tallied two victories, six top-five finishes and nine top-10 showings during his collegiate career. I am very excited for the opportunity to coach at such a great institution and to be able to help players develop as athletes as well as young men, said Reeves. We have a great group of guys on the team, and I am looking forward to a great season. A 2007 graduate of Eastside High School, Reeves also claimed the 2011 South Carolina Amateur Championship and competed on the eGolf Professional Tour in 2012.

Todd Satterfield
Assistant Coach
Satterfield Furman mens golf coach Todd Satterfield is in his 21st year at the helm of the Paladin program. During his tenure as head coach, Satterfield has guided Furman to three Southern Conference Championships, four NCAA Regional appearances, has produced 15 All-SoCon selections and has been named SoCon Coach-of-the-Year four times. During the 2015-16 season, Satterfield led the Paladins to a third-place finish at the Southern Conference Championships. Junior Bryce Howell tied for second place among the individuals, and seniors Wehman Hopke and Preston Cole garned All-SoCon accolades. Connor Bruns earned a spot on the SoCon All-Freshman team. In 2011-12, Satterfield guided the Paladins to a sweep at the Springhill Suites Intercollegiate as Matt Broome captured individual medalist honors and the Paladins topped the 15-team field. Furman also grabbed a second place finish at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate while senior Austin Reeves placed fourth at the SoCon Championship to earn all-league honors. During the 2010-11 campaign, Satterfield led Furman to a pair of victories at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate in Sapphire, N.C., and the SoCon Championship in Florence, S.C. He captured SoCon Coach-of-the-Year honors and Furmans J. Lyles Alley Coach-of-the-Year accolades after guiding the Paladins to their 13th SoCon Tournament crown and fourth NCAA Regional bid while also helping junior Austin Reeves notch individual medalist honors at the 2010 SoCon Championship. Under Satterfields guidance, three Paladins earned All-SoCon honors in 2010. In 1996-97, Satterfields first season as head coach, he led the Furman mens team to four tournament titles and the programs first post-season appearance since 1986. Victories in the East Carolina Pirate Fall Intercollegiate, the Old Dominion University/Seascape Collegiate and the Davidson College Invitational would have made for an impressive season, but the Paladins took it a step further by winning the programs first Southern Conference Championship since 1993 with a sudden-death victory over the 14th-ranked Bucs of East Tennessee State. That victory may well have cemented the NCAA committees decision to invite the Paladins to the NCAA East Regional Championship at The Homesteads Upper Cascades Golf Course. At the East Regional, which was Furmans first postseason appearance since the Paladins finished 19th at the 1986 NCAA Championships, Furman fired 297-311-301 to finish tied for 14th, just 14 strokes away from qualifying for the NCAA Championship. Satterfields effort did not go unnoticed. He was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year and he became the first-ever first-year coach to win Furmans J. Lyles Alley Coach of the Year Award. In 2001-02 Satterfield again led his team to NCAA Regional action as the Paladins placed 21st out of 27 teams at a tough Settindown Creek Course in Roswell, Ga. Furman recorded another banner year in 2003-04, winning the Southern Conference Tournament, the Furman Invitational and the Wofford Invitational, and placing 18th at the West Regional in Sunriver, Ore. As a result, Satterfield again earned Southern Conference Coach of the Year honors. In 2004 Matt Davidson, a player recruited and coached by Satterfield, won his PGA tour card making him Satterfields first protege competing in the PGA. A native of Bluefield, W.Va., Satterfield joined the Furman program after three years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Georgia. As a junior playing in West Virginia, Satterfield won the State Junior Championship and finished as runner-up in the State Amateur. As a member of UGAs Bulldog golf team, Satterfield earned 1989 All-Southeastern Conference honors and was key to the teams 1988 SEC Championship. In addition, he was the Bulldogs low performer in the 1988 NCAA Championship. According to Satterfield, much of his coaching style reflects the influence of legendary Georgia Coach Dick Copas. A member of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Hall of Fame, Coach Copas led the Georgia team for 26 years and Satterfield studied under him as both a player and an assistant coach. After graduating from Georgia in 1989 with a degree in finance, Satterfield won the West Virginia Open and advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur. In the fall of 1989 he turned pro and played the Hogan (Web.com), South Africa and Hooters mini-tours. In addition, he won the second stage of the 1991 PGA Tour Qualifying School with a blistering 17-under-par total. In 1992 Satterfield notched three top five finishes on the Hogan Tour and finished 66th on the money list. Though no longer a touring professional, Satterfield keeps his game in shape by practicing with and instructing his team. That practice paid off in the summer of 2000 when he won the Greenville County Amateur with rounds of 67-70-70. In addition, he took the 1997 Furman Invitational over a field of almost 100 and qualified for the U.S. Amateur with rounds of 68-69. In 1998, he advanced to the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. Satterfield is a past-president of the Golf Coaches Association of America and is currently serving as the interim third vice-president of the GCAA. He previously served as a consulting member of the United States Golf Association Rules of Golf Committee, the USGA Amateur Public Links Committee and the Carolinas Golf Association Executive Board. Satterfield is married to the former Lori Beth Honaker of Bluefield, W.Va. The couple has two children: a daughter, Kateland, and a son, Chandler.
